Chapter 783: Chapter 783: Underground Cave

The angel Kekaul issued a mission to Song Jian to save himself, but this mission was not easy for Song Jian;

Song Jian frowned slightly. This was an epic-level task; every step was incredibly challenging and even filled with hidden traps. Just like the first mission to explore the Demon Guardian Temple, even after reaching the temple area, one has to find the key NPC to complete the task;

To save Angel Kekaul, it’s necessary to free him from the Abyssal Chains. If the key to the liberation was a level 40 Lord Boss, Song Jian would not be surprised;

Song Jian had the Book of the Abyss. If Angel Kekaul became a Fallen Angel, it would be easy for Song Jian to recruit him as a slave, but releasing him was a tough task indeed.

After hesitating for a moment, Song Jian nodded, agreeing to the task;

“It’s my honor!” Song Jian said. A look of relief appeared in Angel Kekaul’s eyes. The fall of his companion had dealt a severe blow to him. If Song Jian hadn’t appeared, Kekaul would likely become a Fallen Angel, a creature of the Abyss, within a day.

“Thank you, human, you have won the friendship of the Temple Legion!” Kekaul said gratefully;

Song Jian was stunned, not expecting to gain benefits simply by accepting the task. There were many factions within the game, most of which were established by NPC. These big and small organizations have lots of resources, but to obtain these resources, one must first establish a good relationship with these factions and improve their reputation.

Song Jian had never heard of Sky City and the Temple Legion. However, such organizations had been in existence for hundreds of years, and being able to open up prestige would undoubtedly bring benefits;

“I wonder how I can save you from here? And, I want to ask, is this chest yours?” Song Jian pointed at the Dark Gold Treasure Chest next to the bound Angel.

On the third floor of this tower, the only thing that piqued Song Jian’s interest was this Dark Gold Treasure Chest.

“It’s a trap!” Kekaul had a wry smile on his face as he continued, “Inside this Dark Gold Treasure Chest is actually a wicked trap. Once you open it, you’ll be killed by the mechanisms inside!”

“What?” Song Jian broke out in a cold sweat. Had he not witnessed the fall of an Angel, he probably would have tried to open the chest right away.

“The existence of this chest is to let us witness the wickedness of human hearts firsthand. Five other adventurers had appeared here but ignored us who were bound, and directly opened the chest!” Kekaul lamented, “The Abyss Demons are experts in manipulating the hearts of humans. They’re using this methodology to crush our confidence and willpower…”

Song Jian suddenly realized that creatures like Angels seem to always show up as protectors of people. When they’re in danger, those they’ve always protected only see the Dark Gold Treasure Chest, seek benefits, and don’t consider rescuing the Angles in distress. This is indeed hard for the Angels to accept. If it were a more intense Angel, it might have fallen into an Abyss creature on the spot;

After understanding this, Song Jian’s face became grim. The Demon that could come up with such a method was clearly an old, crafty fox. To save the Angel in front of him, there’s a high chance he’ll confront the Demon;

As expected, Angel Kekaul continued, “To touch the shackles of the Abyssal Chains, you must obtain the fang of the Sixth Demon King Ishtan, which is now controlled by the Wolf Spider Demon Ritualist Iphisna! It was her idea to use such a wicked method and so many of my companions have fallen to become Abyss Demons.”

“May I ask about the strength of this Wolf Spider Demon Ritualist, Iphisna?” Song Jian tentatively asked.

“Her power is very strong, almost comparable to the might of the Archangel. In the language of you adventurers, she is a level 50 Lord Boss possessing peak First Order Combat Power!” Angel Kekaul bluntly revealed.

Song Jian almost spat out a mouthful of blood. A peak First Order Combat Power, level 50 Lord Boss, this epic-level mission is only the second ring and it’s already this difficult?

With Song Jian currently at level 38, facing this Boss, he can’t even check her attributes. Just looking at her level, which is in the shape of a skull, is a sign that she’s ten levels higher than him, possessing the power to crush lower-level beings.

“With my strength, I’m just not a match for her!” Song Jian said with a grim expression.

A Lord Boss wouldn’t be like an Elite Boss, going about without any subordinates. If she didn’t have hundreds of minions following her at all times, she would be too embarrassed to even greet other Lord Bosses.

“You don’t need to fight her. Although the Fang of the Sixth Demon King is controlled by Iphisna, it’s placed on an altar. The Wolf Spider Demons want to resurrect the Sixth Demon King through blood sacrifice. You just need to steal the Fang from the altar.” Angel Kekaul said.

“Phew, thankfully we don’t need to fight such a powerful Boss!” Song Jian breathed a sigh of relief, you can imagine how strong the guardians of the altar which could resurrect the Sixth Demon King would be. However, there’s always a way if you aim to steal; even the tiger dozes off once in a while. With this considered, the difficulty of the mission has dropped considerably;

After telling Song Jian the location of the altar, Angel Kekaul seemed exhausted and closed his eyes, no longer speaking. The fall of his companion who had been with him for hundreds of years had dealt a great blow to him. His mental defense had gaps now.

Song Jian quietly waited for the cooldown of the Concealment Necklace to end, then entered stealth mode and walked towards the outside of the tower;
