Chapter 138: 138 Taotie
Chapter 138: Chapter 138 Taotie
Room 518 of the hotel!
“Dudu…”
The phone rang twice before it was answered.
“Who is it?”
Capricorn’s languid voice came through the mobile phone’s receiver.
“Give me the phone!”
The middle-aged man snatched the phone away.
“Capricorn, this is Taotie!”
The middle-aged man said in a deep voice.
“Oh?”
“Is the job done?”
On the other end of the line, Capricorn asked with a smile in his voice.
“Job?”
“You dare to bring up the mission with me?”
With eyes wide, Taotie said angrily.
“Yo~”
“Taotie, who has upset you?”
“Why are you so angry?”
Facing the furious Taotie, Capricorn still spoke calmly and cheerfully.
“Could it be that the mission failed?”
Suddenly, Capricorn’s tone turned cold.
“Who has infuriated me?”
“Besides you, who else would dare to double-cross me!”
Taotie, unconcerned with the murderous intent in Capricorn’s tone, still interrogated Capricorn furiously.
Obviously, the middle-aged uncle named Taotie wasn’t much affected by Capricorn, who everyone feared, and didn’t even show a hint of trepidation.
This also indicated that in the Blacklist, Taotie’s status was not at all lower than Capricorn’s.
Of course, one must be strong to forge metal.
The Blacklist was, after all, an assassin organization.
Although its members had different statuses, status was not absolute; strength was what really mattered.
If Taotie himself didn’t possess strength comparable to Capricorn’s, he would never be so brazen with Capricorn.
Don’t be misled by Taotie being a middle-aged uncle; his fierce eyes when he was angry were proof enough of his innate viciousness.
“Taotie, if you’re frustrated, don’t take it out on me. Be careful, or I might just castrate you,” Capricorn warned.
Capricorn was never known for her temper. If she was, she wouldn’t have gained such a notorious reputation. Now with Taotie giving her lip, there was no way Capricorn would indulge him.
If they had been in close proximity, Capricorn would have already taken action.
Taotie bellowed, “Enough with the nonsense!”
“I’m asking you!”
“What kind of intelligence work are you running?”
“The hotel is crawling with cops, are you trying to send me to my death?”
The ferocity and rage in Taotie’s eyes grew more intense, his words laced with lethal intent.
“What?”
“There are cops in the hotel?”
Upon hearing this, Capricorn was startled.
“You’re making me work under the cops’ noses, do you want me dead?” Taotie asked with a sneer.
“I didn’t know there were cops in the hotel. You should get out of there for now, there will be other opportunities to kill her,” Capricorn’s tone softened.
“Getting out temporarily is not an option now.”
“Leaving now would draw even more attention from the cops. Figure out why the police have set up a stakeout in the hotel, and I’ll make my move when I see an opportunity. Be ready to back me up anytime,” Taotie demanded.
With Capricorn admitting fault, Taotie’s temper subsided as he regained his rationality.
“Fine, I’ll check with the intelligence team,” Capricorn said and then hung up the phone.
…
A black limousine!
A look of gloom covered Capricorn’s pretty face.
After hanging up the phone, Capricorn got up from her seat.
She walked over to the man in the black suit, staring at him coldly.
“Capricorn, is something the matter?”
Sensing Capricorn’s gaze, the man in the black suit working busily at the computer looked up, puzzled.
“There are cops in the hotel, why didn’t you report it?” Capricorn asked coldly.
“Cops?”
Upon hearing this, the man in the suit was taken aback.
“The intelligence I received didn’t include any information about the cops,”
the man in the suit shrugged his shoulders, replying helplessly.
At this, Capricorn narrowed her beautiful, large eyes, a flash of cold light flitted from within the half-closed lids.
“You don’t know?”
Capricorn asked coldly.
“I really don’t know, it wasn’t in the intelligence,”
the man in the suit answered as if it were to be expected.
“Liu’er, as the head of the intelligence group, is this how you provide intelligence for the organization?”
Capricorn looked at Liu’er in the black suit with narrowed eyes, her voice filled with an icy chill.
“Isn’t that normal?”
“The organization gets so much intelligence every day; I can’t possibly verify every single piece, can I?”
Liu’er retorted as if it were to be expected.
“Oh?”
“So you’re saying you have it tough?”
Capricorn coldly threw the question back at him.
“Of course, it’s very tough for me,”
Liu’er replied with a grin, eager to agree.
“Hehe…”
Capricorn let out a cold laugh.
The next second, Capricorn extended her delicate, jade-like hand and reached for Liu’er’s face: “Since you’re working so hard, do you need me to comfort you a bit?”
Capricorn smiled seductively, her alluring eyes like silk as she gazed at Liu’er.
Taken aback by Capricorn’s sudden change, Liu’er showed a look of flattered surprise.
He said with a lecherous face: “Really, can I?”
“Hehe~”
Capricorn laughed sweetly.
“Of course…”
As she spoke, Capricorn’s fingertip trailed across Liu’er’s face, gently moving down to his neck and playfully lifting his chin…
At her words, Liu’er immediately showed an elated expression, his gaze burning as he stared at Capricorn’s lovely figure, instinctively swallowing his saliva.
“Not allowed!”
Before she finished speaking, Capricorn’s expression changed.
Her seductive look was replaced by a frosty coldness, and the hand on Liu’er’s chin suddenly turned into a claw, gripping his throat tightly.
With a crisp “snap,” Liu’er’s expression was frozen in surprise, but his eyes lost their luster.
Liu’er’s head tilted, and a trickle of blood flowed from the corner of his mouth, quickly soaking the white shirt beneath his black suit.
“Useless!”
Capricorn withdrew her hand, took out a wet tissue, wiped the non-existent dirt off her hand, crumpled the wet tissue into a ball, and tossed it onto Liu’er’s face.
“Drive, find a place to dispose of the body,”
Capricorn commanded lazily, smiling as she stretched herself.
No sooner had Capricorn spoken than the limousine started moving.
Capricorn took out her cell phone and dialed the number of Taotie’s female secretary.
“Hello?”
Upon connecting, Taotie’s voice came through the phone’s receiver.
“There’s been dereliction in the intelligence group. Liu’er was negligent.”
“I’ve already taken care of Liu’er,”
Capricorn stated indifferently.
It seemed that killing a Liu’er to her was no different from killing a dog.
“Hehe…”
“That’s just like you!”
“I like this way you handle things,”
came Taotie’s laughter from the phone’s receiver.
“Forget this mission,”
“When the opportunity comes, we’ll take revenge for Gemini,”
Capricorn said lightly.
“I’ll see if there’s a chance. If I can take the target down, I will; if not, I’ll give up,”
“Anyone who dares to touch one of us on the Blacklist should go meet King Yama in Hell,”
Taotie said with a sneer.
“Suit yourself,”
Capricorn said casually, hanging up the phone.
…
Hotel security room!
“Wait!”
“That figure…”
Watching Axi’s silhouette on the surveillance video, Song Lin’s eyes widened suddenly.
What do you think?
