t/n Gilium's pov
It has been two months since the search party was sent after Alfis released the monsters, and I, Gilium, have been living in constant fear and anxiety.
I couldn't focus on my training, and every day I was subjected to harsh words from my elder brother.
Damn it, that brother of mine is just too strong. He's like the incarnation of a demon god.
Originally, Alfis should have been participating in the training as well, but that guy has never once shown up at the training grounds.
Father doesn't even try to reprimand him, and Mother is the same.
In fact, Father even said he has high expectations for him.
I've never been told anything like that.
Even Miley, my sister, gets praised for taking initiative or some nonsense.
"Damn it! What the hell are those minions of mine doing? They should be back by now!"
I slammed my fist against the wall of my room.
I can't stand it. Why does that Alfis get all the praise?
I have taming skills that none of my siblings possess, for crying out loud.
I've been secretly using this ability to build the strongest army.
Right now, even Father doesn't know about it, but I'm in the process of constructing a fortress.
From there, I'll eventually conquer the entire continent.@@novelbin@@
A kingdom? That's small-place . I'm talking about ruling the entire continent.
Like the emperor of Eldia in the past.
Once I establish the Gilium Empire, the Balfont family will be irrelevant.
I'll attack every nation with an army of tens of thousands of monsters.
Tens of thousands! Who could possibly stop such a force?
Honestly, Father and my elder brother are too soft.
They should just take over this kingdom, throne and all.
Why do they keep playing these behind-the-scenes games?
That's why they're stuck as one of the two great noble families.
The top should always be one.
If you're born a man, you should dream big.
In that regard, I have what it takes to build a massive empire.
My skills are something that Father, Mother, my elder brother, and even Miley don't possess.
As for that Alfis, he shouldn't have anything... or so I thought.
At his age, he's not only using magic but even manipulating energy waves? That's just absurd.
I can't even sense energy waves, let alone control them.
There's something seriously wrong with that guy.
Because of that, his reputation within the estate has skyrocketed.
They call him a genius, a prodigy, saying he'll surpass even Father, my elder brother, and Miley.
I can't stand it. And still, those monsters are taking too long.
Oh, someone's knocking. Is it Father?
"Come in..."
"Alright, I won't hold back then."
"Then..."
The one who opened the door and entered was Alfis.
In his hand, he held the head of one of my minions.

t/n Alfis's pov
When I entered the room holding the head of Gilium's minion, he looked like he was about to collapse.
I didn't mean to shock him that much, but I guess he had a lot of confidence in his minion.
"A-Alfis! Wh-what the hell is that!?"
"'What the hell'? That's cold. Don't you recognize the face of your proud minion? Here, take a closer look."
"Ugh! Why... why do you have that? There's no way you... you couldn't have defeated him, right!?"
"Miley did it for me."
Hearing that, Gilium seemed to relax.
He must have been relieved, thinking there's no way I could have defeated that Black Demon.
Probably because it was the strongest among his minions.
"Just kidding. Did you believe me?"
"Kidding...!?"
"If it were true, though, Miley, who loves me so much, would probably do something about you."
"So... so you're saying you defeated him!? Are you joking!?"
Gilium slumped to the floor.
The guy who was so full of himself is now trembling in fear of the youngest.
I'd say it's a good lesson for him, but that would defeat the purpose of bringing this head here.
"Hey, Gilium. We settled things in that duel, didn't we? Were you that bitter about it?"
"N-no... that's..."
"I don't care if you hate me, but I can't keep dealing with your constant meddling."
"Y-yeah... right..."
Yeah, right. I drew my demon sword and pointed it at Gilium.
That duel was a good experience, but having my life threatened isn't something I can just let slide.
Currently, the hierarchy in the estate is: Eldest Brother > Sister > Me >> An insurmountable wall >> Gilium.
In other words, if I report this incident to Father, Leorg, what do you think will happen?
No need to think about it. But I don't want to do something so lame.
I've decided to conquer this world.
I'll remove any obstacles myself.
With that in mind, I brought the tip of my sword closer to Gilium's neck.
"Th-that sword..."
"It's just a demon sword."
"A sword that chooses its wielder... there's no way it would choose someone like you..."
"Do you understand your position now?"
I pressed the blade closer to his neck.
A little more force, and his life would be over.
"Eek! W-wait! Please! Let's talk this out! Okay?"
"Ah, I'm calm. I can kill you here with a clear mind."
"S-stop! Someone..."
I sliced the table behind Gilium in half.
Seeing the table disappear as if swallowed by darkness, Gilium probably wet himself for the second time in his life.
"Sorry, my hand slipped. I'm still not used to handling it."
"P-please stop... I'm sorry... I won't mess with you anymore..."
"Even so, you lie so easily. Taking the protagonist's allies hostage, making them bring you items, and then breaking your promise..."
"Wh-what are you talking about..."
I accidentally let slip an event from the game.
Though, when it comes to breaking promises, Alfis is the real scoundrel.
"Hmm, I could kill you, but I wonder what Father and Mother would say..."
"Th-that's right! So..."
"Bow down."
"Huh?"
"Get on your knees and apologize. Say, 'I will never lay a hand on Alfis-sama or his comrades again. It was foolish of a lowly worm like me to defy you.'"
"L-like hell I will!"
Even Gilium has some pride, it seems, as he didn't immediately comply.
But when I raised my sword, he quickly changed his attitude and got on his knees.
"A-Alfis-sama, I will never lay a hand on you or your comrades again! It was foolish of a lowly worm like me to defy you!"
"Well done. You'll remember this for the rest of your life."
I kicked Gilium's face as hard as I could.
"Gah!"
"I'll let you off this time. Pray that Miley doesn't find out about this."
"Hic... hic... ugh..."
Gilium hit his head against the wall behind him and started sobbing.
Is this really a member of the prestigious Balfont family? Well, he's practically the weakest anyway.
What do you think?
