Chapter 918: The Varahan Challenge
Chapter 918: The Varahan Challenge
Millanir was a gelatinous substance, with little structural integrity. The Human Avatar form was fragile at the Body Stage, but became reinforced through the Life Stages. But that was it.
Unlike most Free Humans who relied on the toughness of their Human Avatar forms during a battle, Shuwrak Zahara had to fight in his human form. This was why his Secondary Nature of Tangible Millinger was so valuable. It provided him the necessary physical defence.
Even if it wasn't as strong as a Millinger, it still gave him the toughness of a Gold Grade Pranic Beast, which was more than enough to face most situations. After all, even a Centinger could take a beating from a Gold Grade Pranic Beast for a short duration in a one-on-one situation.
A Millinger's defences were vastly advanced as compared to a Centinger.
Both tusk bone powder and the Biome Bomb were hard materials. So, Inala could use force during his hammering session. However, Millanir was too weak. If his psychokinesis was even a tad strong, the Millanir would either spill out of his arm or dissolve into his blood and cause issues in blood circulation and even organ failures.
Thanks to his three sets of internal organs, Inala could endure these mistakes and gradually clean himself during the process, ensuring to slowly but steadily infuse Millanir into his left
arm.
It first fused into the bones, turning them brittle. Following that, it gradually pervaded the organ parts of the hand and turned the whole structure jelly-like.
Every day, Shuwrak Zahara woke up and observed Inala in astonishment, truly amazed by a Brully's capability to work nonstop, "Do you never need to rest?"
"A Brully rests only at death." Inala chuckled without missing a beat in his hammering actions. His Billakin Hammer had been widened at the face to give a more even force distribution onto his left hand.
The force behind his hits was gentle, causing soft thuds. On the fourth day, Shuwrak Zahara was even more amazed, "What about your...daily needs?"
"You mean eating, shitting, and taking a bath?" Inala chuckled, "My body constantly maintains the process of digestion and excretion."
"Wait..." Shuwrak Zahara looked at the toilet in the cave in confusion, "I never saw you heading there even once, whether to take a dump or urinate."
"That's a Brully speciality." Inala stated in pride, "It takes but a second for us to dump everything. And we launch it with such precise bowel movements that there's no sound or disturbance produced from the impact."
"That's why you never used it." Inala explained, "Had you maintained your Prana detection means throughout this cave, you might have noticed it."
As for cleaning himself, it was a process similar to what Mammoth Clansman did using Prana. A mere unit of Prana was more than enough to clean oneself up. Every Pranic Beast was instinctively capable of such, when they want to, of course.
Many Pranic Beasts rely on their foul odour to evade predators. Hygiene and its lack of were merely survival tactics.
Free Humans maintained it, for that was a necessity to procreate and live about as a community. Every Pranic Beast race had their respective tradition when it came to it.
For a Brully, these processes were a waste of time. Hence, their excretory organs behaved in such a way that all their body waste was concentrated, which could then be ejected by the Brully in a single shot.
Thereby, they'll only waste one second of their busy lives-fighting.
"What an insane race!" Shuwrak Zahara muttered. The more he knew about a Brully, the more he never wanted to face Inala in combat. 'They're built to fight and that alone. Everything they're capable of just to facilitate them a better fighting experience.'
"That's also why we're almost extinct now." Inala eyed Shuwrak Zahara's face and could guess the latter's thoughts, "At a time when the Brimgan Empire was created, we roamed all across Sumatra. But due to our culture, our numbers dwindled since we never cared about future generations."
"A Brully is a dangerous existence to face. But that's all we amount to," Inala concluded, "From a grand scheme of things, the Brully Race simply isn't fit to survive on Sumatra."@@novelbin@@
"Do you...plan to change it?" Shuwrak Zahara asked.
"I'm not sure yet," Inala shook his head, "The only reason I have a somewhat different perspective is thanks to being born in the chaos of the Kalahatra Desert. I obtained not only the Major Treasure of Weapon, but also many information about my Race. They influenced me to my present self."
"How does it feel to own a Major Treasure?" Shuwrak Zahara asked honestly.
"You'll never lack confidence," Inala chuckled, "It gives you the confidence of being able to survive literally any situation, including a Major Disaster. Only a Mystic Grade existence can make you feel otherwise."
"Suppose you use Weapon against me," Shuwrak Zahara thought for a moment before asking, "How long do you think I'll last?"
"Depends on where we fight." Inala expressed casually.
"Let's talk about the most ideal of conditions." Shuwrak Zahara said next.
"If we were to fight in the Brimgan Empire with a Brimgan Royal nearby," Inala observed Shuwrak Zahara's expression and chuckled, "I only need one hit per each body of yours."
"That strong, huh?" Shuwrak Zahara shuddered at the thought.
"If I were given prep time, I can achieve the same anywhere on Sumatra." Inala didn't speak much beyond that and continued to hammer his left hand.
"What if you were to fight the Wean Clan's leader?" Shuwrak Zahara asked next.
"You mean the Boar King?" Inala pondered for a moment upon seeing the other party nod. He then shrugged, "The current me cannot win, especially once the Boar King prepares the stack in his Astral Chart to counter me."
"What about at your theorised peak?" Shuwrak Zahara asked next, instinctively stepping back upon seeing Inala burst into a bestial laughter.
"For that," Inala's lips curled up into a wide smile, expressing an immense desire to fight, "You'll need to witness the fight to know the outcome."
"Can't you tell it to me in advance?" Shuwrak Zahara let out a mild sigh.
"I don't have a habit of boasting needlessly. You'll know when I achieve what I desire." Inala shrugged, "If I were to fail, that's it then."
On the tenth day, Shuwrak Zahara had gotten used to moving about in Inala's cave, playing around with a Storage Lantern as he returned shortly after completing his daily tasks.
Upon entry, his amicable smile vanished, replaced by a sour expression. Staring at it, Inala asked without hesitation, "Are you getting sidelined by the Wean Clan already?"
"Damn, you could have worded it nicely, you know?" Shuwrak Zahara slumped on the floor and groaned, "Recently, the Varahan Empire launched a stronger invasion and resulted in the death of over thirty Wean Clansmen."
"So, everyone here has accumulated a deep resentment against Free Humans." He sighed,
"Worst of all, the Gold Grade Free Humans have assumed Empyrean Boar forms during the battle. Everyone with Gold Grade strength knows by now how they have obtained that power."
"Thanks to an Empyrean Boar diet," Inala commented casually.
"I wonder how you can figure out everything so quickly?" Shuwrak Zahara expressed his
wonder.
"I can perceive a lot of information just by looking at your face, smelling the type of scent you release, how your body perspires, the sound of your heartbeats, your breathing patterns, and lastly, your body language." Inala grinned as he stared at Shuwrak Zahara, "I'm basically piecing together stuff from my interaction with you."
"Can every Brully do this..." Shuwrak Zahara stopped his question and shook his head,
"Nevermind."
"Alright," Inala didn't mind that as he continued with his work, commenting after a couple of minutes had passed, "The answer is yes to all your questions about us."
"Damn!" Shuwrak Zahara cursed, "How did Free Humans even survive back in those days?"
"There were always extremely talented people among Free Humans." Inala commented, "Maybe there were even individuals on par with your sister. That's why the Free Humans have continued to survive to this day despite everything that came at them."
"And now, they have two ridiculously powerful Empires to call home." He slowly pointed at
the sky, "Eventually, the Varahan Empire's Free Humans too would become Transcendents. Unless these two Empires don't destroy each other in a war, this region of Sumatra will have a strong influence of Free Humans."
"There are also powerful Clans in this region." Shuwrak Zahara commented.
"You're right," Inala nodded as the cave turned silent. Days passed in such a fashion, and
soon, Shuwrak Zahara stumbled into the cave on the eighteenth day, extremely distressed.
"Something shitty happened?" Inala asked, not breaking his focus, "Your face is a ridiculous mess now."
"Something shitty?" Shuwrak Zahara took in a deep breath and closed the entrance, too riled up to even maintain a conversation. He just paced about in the room and constantly kicked the walls, letting out a string of expletives from time to time.
He then slumped on a seat far away, which was where he sat the past few days. Inala didn't mind the individual and continued to hammer away, as he was close to completion.
An entire day passed, and Shuwrak Zahara hadn't slept a wink. His eyes were slightly tired, but
his distress was clearly more evident, causing his appearance to look haggard. He stared at the
back of Inala and uttered after a while, "There was a challenge."
"Challenge?" Inala asked nonchalantly, "Who is the challenger?"
"The Varahan Emperor!" Shuwrak Zahara dropped the bomb.
C-Clang!
For a moment, Inala missed his rhythm and dropped his Billakin Hammer. He turned around
and asked with an incredulous expression, "And he's challenging?"
"The Boar King!" Shuwrak Zahara groaned as he buried his face in his hands.
'Seems Narkahamy succeeded.' Inala thought as such as his expression grew serious, 'Things
are about to heat up here.'
What do you think?
