Chapter 284 284: The Titan Council
"Domain Lord Dragon vs. Saint Lord Dragon!"
"The Domain Lord dragon has absurdly high health—it's more than twice that of the Dark Dragon!"
The players in the area were stunned. The Crimson Lizard King's massive dragon form almost obscured half of the sky, and its wings caused powerful gusts of wind.
Usher's Dark Dragon, however, remained unafraid. Its glowing eyes opened as it let out a roar and shot a blast of Dark Dragon Breath toward the Crimson Lizard King.
"Master—Immortal!"
The Crimson Lizard King glared with bloodshot eyes, responding with a mighty roar of its own. Its Doom Dragon Breath burned through the air, crashing into the Dark Dragon's breath.
The two dragon breaths clashed. The Doom Dragon Breath was visibly thicker and stronger, and after just a few seconds, the Dark Dragon's breath was overwhelmed.
"A Dragon Breath clash against a High-level Dragon, and it's losing? What is going on here?" EclipseRider was sweating.
"Usher's dragon is at a lower level—it's still just recently hatched," TitanBreaker muttered, furrowing his brows.
Though the Crimson Lizard King's rank was lower, it had the Devour Growth skill, which allowed its growth to defy logic, and its level was more than ten levels higher. In terms of Dragon Breath, even the Flame Dragon's lair master wouldn't be a match for it!
On the other side, Orson furrowed his brows. He waved his staff, sending a Chaos Magic Ball straight at Sinternan.
"Heh heh… Orgod, if you were in my server, you wouldn't have the chance to act so smug," Sinternan sneered, leaping into the air. A green figure appeared, and both he and the figure vanished from sight.
"Even battle beasts can turn invisible now?" Naoko gasped.
"Anyone brave enough to come here alone can't be an ordinary player," Orson observed, his eyes scanning the surroundings, a faint smile curling on his lips.
In mid-air, the Dark Dragon was about to be engulfed by the Dragon Breath.
Suddenly, a white streak of light shot in from the side, intertwining with the Dark Dragon Breath. The black and white breaths mixed together like two long serpents, charging toward the Doom Dragon Breath.
"Damn! Holy Light Dragon Breath! Another High-level Dragon? What kind of freaks are these players from the US region?"
"Our server only has a handful of dragon battle beasts, and they're all low-level, around level 20. How come there are three so powerful dragons here?"
The players who had just entered through the Rift were stunned. They watched three massive dragon forms clash their breaths in mid-air. A chill ran down their spines, and they regretted stepping into the Abyssal Rift.
This time, the Doom Dragon Breath's assault was completely blocked. The three dragon breaths struggled together in the air, intertwining like a full moon suspended in the sky.
Boom!
A sound like a balloon being popped echoed, followed by a deafening explosion. A blinding white light flashed, and when the players' eyes recovered, a massive crater, a thousand meters wide, had appeared on the ground. The corpse insects hiding within were turned to dust.
"Too many foreign players here; I think we should avoid internal conflict," a gentle voice echoed.
A grayish-green dragon appeared next to the Dark Dragon, and Snow Dream, holding her staff, stood beside it with a smile.
"The Holy Light Dragon King's blessed wind dragon," Orson murmured in surprise. This wind dragon, despite being a low-level dragon, had received the blessing of the Holy Light Dragon King and had surpassed the usual rank limits.
Naoko's eyes narrowed as she glanced at Snow Dream, snorting in disdain, "Yamata no Orochi, knock them all down!"
"No," Orson interrupted. "She's right. There are too many mixed players here. No need to get involved with them."
More players from various servers poured into the Abyssal Rift, and soon, the number reached over a thousand. It was clear that some needed to be removed first.
"Can we call a ceasefire?" Usher asked coldly, glancing at Orson.
"Sure," Orson replied indifferently. After hiding for so long, Usher must have something backing him to appear here now. With two upper-tier dragons on his side, even though they were no match for the Crimson Lizard King or Yamata no Orochi, dealing with them would still take time.
With Kalrien and Kanting, two powerful players, present, it wouldn't be wise to waste energy fighting now. Even if both sides wanted each other dead, the more chaotic the situation became, the worse it would be for both of them. Orson knew this well.
The more players there were, the greater the chance to exploit the situation. If they allowed any treasures to slip away and leave the Rift, it would become a real problem.
The global war in Infinite Dimensions hadn't yet started. If someone managed to escape with something valuable, returning to their home server would cause significant issues.
Just then, a global announcement rang out:
"Global Announcement: Special Event [Titan Council] will begin soon. Only 12 seats are available. Fight for a spot!"
"Global Announcement: The Titan Wishing Pool will appear once the countdown ends. Be sure to occupy the Titan Isles within the required time!"
Everyone froze. Just as the global announcement appeared, twelve floating corpse islands below lit up, and a five-minute countdown flashed above them.
"The Titan Wishing Pool!"
Orson's heart skipped a beat. Something significant was indeed about to happen. No wonder the system had issued the global announcement. If he were the only one here, he wouldn't be able to claim all 12 spots, and the special event, Titan Council, wouldn't even trigger.
"Too many people in the area!"
"Too many people in the area!"
...
System messages kept ringing in Orson's ears, and a white progress bar appeared above his head, initiating the event countdown.
Naoko looked puzzled. "12 people? Does that mean only one person can stand on each island?"
Orson immediately realized what was happening. The twelve floating corpse islands corresponded to the 12 spots, and players would need to claim and protect them. If another player entered the island, the progress bar would stop. By driving or killing other players, the progress bar would move forward. Once it reached the end, the player would secure the spot.
This wasn't just a test of battle strength; it also involved alliances, human nature, and decision-making.
Many players had come here in groups, and if no one was bold enough to make a decisive move, a situation where no one was willing to leave could easily occur, leading to internal strife.
The players of Infinite Dimensions had become very sharp by now. No one was foolish. With such a significant global event, anyone who managed to secure a spot would likely gain huge rewards.
Orson glanced at Naoko, showing a gleam of amusement in his eyes, making his intention clear.
Naoko sighed, pouting in frustration. "Do you really want to kick them out like this?"
"You go to that island over there. The view should be nice," Orson said, smiling and pointing to a distant island.
"Are you serious?" Naoko feigned sadness, wiping away a fake tear as she looked back at him.
Orson sighed, raising his staff. "Hurry up and go."
What do you think?
