Chapter 1138 Conditional targeted summoning
[Eon's POV: ]
"Alright, everyone. We are going to start now…"
The preparations were complete for the summoning. The only thing left now was to get on with the actual test.
"Anna?" Looking at the little lady who seemed uncertain but certain about what she was about to do, I nodded.
"Yes, big brother." She knew what I wanted to say so she nodded as well and stepped onto the stage.
She was going to be in the spotlight for the next few hours, and this was not going to be the easiest thing she had done until now.
She was going to experience some troublesome things throughout this process. Since Rein, Zoe, and I tested this summoning circle and knew how the magic array worked, I know just how difficult this would be on her.
Since this whole magic circle was also made of Arcanum instead of Mana or Aura, Carla and Alf could not even be in this room with us. The rest of them including our grandpa and elder aunt were looking at us from above, from the balcony area hidden behind various protective barriers.
"You remember everything you have to do, right?" I have asked her to do something difficult. This was not going to be an easy process, not for her and definitely not for the rest of us.
"Yes… I remember everything. I'm…" She looked up at me with a complicated expression.
She had prepared herself for this. She had prepared herself for this for the whole process ever since I told her it was going to be difficult.
"I'm just a little worried I will mess something up for you all." Her worries were visible on her face.
She was prepared for this summoning, but not for how we were going to perform it.
"You'll do well. Just remember everything we told you." Kneeling before her, I looked her in the eye.
This wasn't the same as the past summonings we have conducted. I wasn't only going to use Asta, but also the power of Stigma that I have awakened and use my Solnova to limits to facilitate this summoning process.
Rein had gained good control over her eyes in these past few days, and she was going to look after anything unexpected. Zoe, on the other hand, will look out for all the technical things since she is the only one that knows this summoning circle as much as me.
For now, the four of us were the only ones present in this entire room. The room was covered in an expensive summoning circle, one of a kind, and one that was much different from the rest of the summoning circles present in this tower, or in the entire world at the moment.
"Don't overthink it. You know what to do and I have all the faith that you will do well." Hugging her for a moment, I got up and took a step back.
"It's fine."
We had tested the summoning circle. We had fixed any possible error-causing units. We knew what might cause complications.
We have spent hours developing this thing and now that we were done with it, we knew the Conditional targeted summoning that we were trying to cause was at least possible.
"Now then…"
The magic circle was a triangular-circular-spherical-hexagonal structure. While it was a three dimensional structure and covered even the walls of the room, while it was not possible to see with naked eyes, the magic circle was present even in the space folds of this place.
The engraving that was only possible if one's astral body could handle the energy artifacts that only Zoe could among us, was the result of our hours-long dedicated creation.
The summoning circle would not have been possible if Elder aunt did not help us with her null magic since even Zoe could not handle the null elements yet.
The notes that we got from the master also helped us a bunch. There was a lot of information about some artifacts that we used to make this, as well as the energy artifacts that were present in the upper levels of the tower that we would not have known without her notes.
She was not here anymore but she was still helping her a bunch. She was perhaps the only reason we were able to do this special summoning.
"Anna, ready?" Everything was prepared, so I looked up at the key that stood in the center, and received her nod of yes before looking at Zoe, who stood on one end of the outer triangle.
"Prepare to initiate."
"Yes, big brother."
The outer triangle was simply the outer unit of the magic array. The structure was divided mainly in three inner parts and Anna was standing in the center of them all.
Rein, Zoe, and I were standing on the three outer corners of the magic array. This triangle was made with the control units of the needed elements that were going to help the major functions.
The first inner circle was where the most connections were present. If even one of these connections malfunctions, we will blow up this entire place because of energy overload.
Since everything that we were seeing was made of sensitive threads of Arcanum, even though some of them were reinforced, they were not as strong as something physical.
'If we weren't maintaining a constant atmosphere inside here, this magic circle would not have existed in the first place.'
Just sustaining this atmosphere was taking up a bunch of energy, so I don't even want to imagine how we would have done this anywhere other than this tower– it would have simply been impossible. Experience more tales on My Virtual Library Empire
'Or extremely costly.'
Actually, even if I try to get the things that we have used in this circle outside, I don't think we would have been able to get a few of the things without paying some of the best gatherers of the world a fortune.
'And even if we do manage to get these things, I don't know if we would have been able to get the quality and volume that we needed.'
Overall, this summoning circle was only possible because we were in this tower, in this home of ours. And now that Anna was taking her first step towards her individual powers, this was going to be a big moment even for me.
"Rein."
Rein had not been speaking much for a while now. She had found my old photos in my room, she had her fun in that place, and she claimed my bed for herself. And then, she simply started her own practice.
She had been improving her control over her divine eyes. She was getting better with each day, and it would not have been possible with simple practice. She would have not been able to do all this if she had not been getting a good sleep.
'It was possible because of that bed, and it was a good thing.'
She wasn't sad or down. She had simply been more focused on the things that were more important.
"I'm ready as well. Let's start." She was going to play a crucial role. If she missed even one percent of the errors in the process, we would all be in big trouble.
'She had failed many times during our test runs, succeeding in only three out of the thirty trials that we conducted.'
She was also tense right now. She knew there was a chance that we would fail because of her mistake, so she was preparing to dive into the Zone from the get go.
"Alright."
We didn't really have a choice this time. We will have to be more focused than Anna since according to the data that the magic circle will process, we will have to counter the unwanted elements manually.
'We called it conditional targeted summoning not because there were some conditions that needed to be fulfilled for the process to succeed. We had to eliminate the unwanted conditions in the process for the desired results.'
It wasn't simple, but that's what we were doing right now. And now that the time is here… I looked up at the open, ceilingless expanse above me.
The crescent moon looked a little darker tonight. The sky above them was beautiful.
The entire room was not dim, there were lights all around us. The magic circle was glowing already, absorbing the energies from the atmosphere.
Anna was in the center of not just the outer circle, she was in the center of the circle, the sphere in the three dimensions, and the hexagone that covered the two circular superstructures.
The triangle was there, and with the additional smaller, unique connective points, we now had a blank book with us.
Anna was the pen that was going to write in this book. Rein was the eyes that were going to look out for any mistakes in the things that were going to be written.
I was going to be the line that guides that pen, while Zoe is… Zoe can be compared to the cosmic protector that makes everything possible for her.
-Oooooooooooong!
Anna's role was still the most crucial in the whole process though. Without her, the whole of the spell array will fail to execute anything and, if that happens… and in the worst case we summon some kind of cosmic horror, it's going to be the end for all of us.
'We weren't specifying any boundaries with this summoning so, there is a great possibility that we might summon a being we should not even interact with.'
There is a possibility.
A bad one at that…
What do you think?
