Chapter 286: Chapter 207 The Terror of the Extreme State – Part Two

Akebin’s face was smeared with blood as he bellowed, both hands striking out simultaneously.

Bang!

The dark green blast of air burst forth again, insects and flies scattered as Chen Lun’s black medium-length hair was tossed about, revealing his indifferent smiling face.

Too close to dodge, Chen Lun simply let the shockwave hit him. His body shifted and he staggered back several meters, while Akebin took the opportunity to leap backward, increasing their distance.

Sputter!

Akebin spat out another mouthful of blood, his body covered with wounds as he knelt on one knee.

“Dammit… If only I had advanced to become a ‘Disaster Disease Master,’ things wouldn’t be like this!”

He lifted his hands to look at them, noticing his skin was ulcerating, even the muscles were decaying to the point where bone was visible.

“This is the blood energy emanated by that person… Can my body of disease not even withstand Supernatural Toxin of this level?”

Akebin’s gaze was icy cold as he looked up at the pale figure.

“Just who are you…?”

He simply could not believe that this was an obscure Transcendent of Sequence Seven.

Chen Lun walked slowly forward, holding his bloodstained Silver Sword. He had just taken a disease assault head-on, but appeared completely unharmed, with only his suit slightly torn.

The surging, powerful blood energy continued to provoke a rise, distorting and rippling the surrounding air. As he walked, his footsteps left behind pitch-black, smoky marks on the stone path.

“Mr. Akebin, I have already introduced myself. My name is Jack Spett, the current Leader of the Circus,” Chen Lun said with a smirk.

“Additionally, I ought to mention, I am a very reasonable person.”

Akebin knew he would not get the man’s true identity and could only curse inwardly at the monster.

Struggling to his feet, he opened his coat to reveal his heart region. Embedded there was a dark green to almost black vial containing a beating heart, dozens of fine tubes linking it to various parts of his thorax and abdomen.

“If you want to kill me, then come… You seem to have a certain resistance to my disease, but this, you can try it,” Akebin said.

Chen Lun narrowed his eyes as his Spiritual Intuition told him that should the vial’s liquid Detonate, he might be in some danger.

Bang!!

Just then, a loud noise drew both their attentions.

Mr. Pot was sent flying, crashing down not far from them.

“Ah ha! I truly didn’t expect this guy to have some skill!”

He stood up, touching a fist-sized dent in his chest that was oozing plenty of blood.

“Die, you damn pot monster!” Drake roared, his body leaving afterimages as he chased after it.

Chen Lun noticed that Drake was now covered with a set of worn Armor filled with rust spots and bloodstains, and from a pendant at his chest, iron wire continuously spewed forth, wriggling and attaching itself to the Armor.

‘It’s the power of that necklace… A flawed A-grade Mysterious Object?’ Chen Lun mused, as fragments of information stirred in his eyes.

Drake’s strength had clearly improved after donning the iron wire Armor. While previously he was outmatched by Mr. Pot, he now seemed to possess the power to fight on equal terms.

“Damn pot creature! Forcing me to use the Balag Necklace! Damn it, damn it!!!” Drake’s eyes, visible through the slits in his full-face helmet, were a fiery red, seemingly slipping into frenzy.

Thud thud thud…!!

He closed in on Mr. Pot, trading blows with it, leaving a rapid succession of punch shadows that resembled a sudden cloudburst.

At this point, Chen Lun turned his attention back to Akebin.

“Do we continue? I know you have other cards up your sleeve besides the ‘Bomb’ in your heart… but I don’t think I’ll die. If you don’t believe it, then let’s try,” he said indifferently, his Silver Sword zipping up to point directly at Akebin.

Akebin couldn’t help but startle.

He hadn’t expected his opponent to discern his secrets.

Indeed, the “Plague Core” at his heart was one of his few trump cards, containing highly potent Supernatural bacteria. But his true last resort relied on the power of a certain disease that had been accumulating over time by the “Vaccinator” of Sequence Six, bolstered by the destruction of the Plague Core, disrupting his own equilibrium and turning into a monster!

But such a transformation was extremely severe, even Akebin himself wasn’t sure he could recover quickly… It was very likely that for a significant period afterward, he would be doomed to live as an insane monster.

Unless absolutely necessary, Akebin wasn’t willing to do that.

“And this man…”

As he gazed at the young man standing opposite him, like an Angel, a thought involuntarily arose—perhaps even if he detonated the core and became a disease monster, he still wouldn’t be able to kill him!

This kind of helpless emotion hadn’t surfaced since he had been forced to leave the Naturalist Sect.

“Mr. Akebin, I don’t want to fight to the death with you… What I want is simple, to join the ‘Murder Club.’ I’m sure you also have an answer to whether I’m qualified,” Chen Lun said.

Although he was currently in the superior position, Chen Lun’s limit state had a finite activation time. In order to achieve his goal, he didn’t want to commit murder and escalate the conflict.

Akebin took out a pendant from around his neck, a small vial filled with faint yellow liquid that shimmered with Points of light.

He seemed to treasure the potion, gently removing the stopper and drinking it in one go, his wounds rapidly healing.

“Of course… I apologize for my Contempt, Mr. Jack,” Akebin sighed.

“You are indeed qualified to join the ‘Murder Club.’ This battle was caused by my disrespect, and I can offer you a hand once in the future as compensation.”

“It seems Mr. Akebin is also a person who abides by reason, which puts my mind at ease,” Chen Lun said with a signature polite smile.

“Akebin! You coward! After I’ve killed the pot monster, I’ll come and kill you!”

Drake roared.

With a wave of his hand, a stream of blood burst from Mr. Pot’s wound and headed toward his mouth. After absorbing the blood, Drake seemed to have endless strength and started laughing maniacally, attacking Mr. Pot even more fiercely.

Ever since he put on the barbed wire armor, he no longer transformed into bats to dodge damage but chose the most brutal method of attack, preferring to be injured while attacking ceaselessly. If the injuries were too severe, he would draw fresh blood from Mr. Pot to heal himself.

It seemed he would do so until death.

“Idiot…” Akebin said coldly.

Mr. Pot, facing the reckless onslaught of the opponent, was not afraid at all and fought back just as fiercely, getting stronger as the battle went on.

This might be Mr. Pot’s way of fighting, but it wasn’t the result Chen Lun wanted.

He had only asked Mr. Pot to come and support him, but he didn’t want it to suffer severe injuries or even die in battle.

In contrast, Drake, who had become so irascible and bloodthirsty, losing all sanity, might have been because of that necklace-shaped Mysterious Object… It was very likely the price of it.

Chen Lun had no intention of letting Mr. Pot continue to entangle with this guy.

“Stop it, Drake, if you don’t want to die…” Akebin noticed Chen Lun’s increasingly impatient look and warned out of a slight comradery.

“Shut up! Trash!” Drake growled, not only not stopping the fight but accelerating his attack.

He suddenly kicked out, his powerful leg strength sending Mr. Pot flying, then took advantage of this gap to suddenly turn and charge at Chen Lun.

“Trash like you shouldn’t exist in this world, and you still want to join the ‘Murder Club’? Go to hell!”

Drake completely lost his reason and began to frantically attract hatred.

Covered in a fierce-looking armor with red light flashing in his eyes, he charged at Chen Lun and threw a punch.

Boom!

The sound of the air exploding.

Chen Lun stood quietly on the spot, glancing at him indifferently.

‘The necklace has taken away his sanity, to make him stop, I’ll have to be ruthless…’

Buzz!!

His body surged with blood qi, and the pair of Pale Wings on his back vibrated rapidly; the dense, snake-like “White Feathers” on the wings twisted simultaneously, providing him with even more strength, then he suddenly lunged forward!

—This was Chen Lun’s most powerful strike in his extreme state!

Akebin felt a tightness in his chest as he saw this, sensing a strong danger.

The air around them became stagnant, and then it exploded violently.

Bang!!!

One could not see the movements of those Pale Wings; Akebin only saw Drake, who was rushing straight over, being struck by an invisible force; the whole man flew backward like a cannonball, at a very high speed, drawing a straight line, and crashed heavily to the ground.

Boom boom boom…!

On the spacious, blurred street, the cobblestones broke apart, being plowed into a “trench” about forty to fifty meters long by Drake!

His body, like a toy, rolled on the ground, leaped up, his armor colliding and scraping against the ground, making a ping-pong clatter.

Finally, he collapsed on the ground and lay motionless.

“That should keep him quiet… Huh?”

Chen Lun was about to look away when he suddenly saw Drake’s fingers move, then the whole man shakily stood up again.

‘He can still stand after such a serious injury…’

He was somewhat impressed with the guy, who had taken a hit from his limit state wings but hadn’t fainted.

The expression in Drake’s eyes cleared up, yet they revealed extreme pain.

“I… should be the one to die! Let go of me… I… don’t want to fight anymore!”

His voice was weak, but his body uncontrollably crawled out from the pit and then step by step moved toward Chen Lun.

Click!

Click!

The heavy greaves stepped on the ground, leaving a pool of blood with each step.

“That is the Cursed Necklace… Drake had mentioned it to me before, once you put on that armor, you fall into an endless battle, even if you subjectively refuse, even if the body is shattered, the armor will force the user to continue fighting.”

Akebin said indifferently.

“It’s also the reason why he’s been reluctant to use it, but this time, I don’t know why…”

Boom!@@novelbin@@

Drake suddenly stepped forward and charged again, with blood splashing from the gaps in the armor, the intense pain making him grunt.

Chen Lun narrowed his eyes.

Buzz!

He flickered to Drake’s front, his pitch-black, shiny palm pressing against Drake’s helmet. The other hand, holding the Silver Sword that reverted to the shape of a cane, blocked the two punches and then lightly touched it.

“Transform.”

With a bang and a cloud of smoke, Drake, seemingly because he was severely injured, decreased in decision-making weight drastically and instantly turned into a bloodied sheep.

The armor retracted into the necklace, which became a pendant molded from barbed wire and hung around the sheep’s neck.

Drake collapsed to the ground with a thud and finally passed out.

‘Turns out control Skills can indeed make him break free from the armor’s control…’

Chen Lun mused with interest.
