Khalifa: Queen in the Apocalypse

Chapter 176: Jealousy

In her distraction, she didn’t notice a lot of zombies had come their way. At this time, her two admirers got their hands filled and a zombie unsurprisingly went past their guards.

When they saw it, it was already about to maul on Mira.

"Watch out Mira!" Ron yelled, running to her.

Ron pushed her to the other lad—Ken—and the momentum made him fall to the ground, unable to regain his balance in time.

The next thing he knew, he was already trapped between two zombies.

"Ahh!" He yelled as he watched them monsters take part of his flesh.

"GYAA!!"

"RON!!" Mira yelled as she hugged Ken, but she made no effort to check up on him. Ken paled next to them, holding on to Mira protectively.

While swinging their weapons around in desperation, they could only watch as Ron was pulled into the small mob. The poor lad soon joined the other side, now as a monster looking at them in hunger.

With one man joining the other side, the two could no longer protect themselves. Fortunately, the soldiers got to them in time.

A soldier came and shot the zombies, and Mira cried at the sight of Ron’s zombified corpse as if she had just seen it.

"Ron!" She yelled, catching attention in the midst of the chaos. "I’m sorry I couldn’t protect you!"

She sounded genuinely heartbroken. "If only… if only everyone was fighting!" She yelled, looking furtively at a certain car.

After clearing their own enemies, a number of people couldn’t help but follow her line of sight—especially the men, as a pretty girl crying so heartbreakingly definitely poked a few manly hearts.

Seeing that she caught enough attention, she continued to speak (this time with sniffing).

"I… perhaps Khalifa has gotten enough rest? She’s so powerful, I’m sure she can help lighten up the load!"

Her words not only made more than a few frown, but it also sharpened Aubrey’s eyes.

Aubrey was far at the back of the convoy—forced to go down and fight—and was unaware of the happenings up front.

Now, though, she found out why Cauis got out of the car later than the others!

She was abused so much back in the Armory!

For the past few weeks she had been tossed around like a rag, no man caring what she felt no matter how much she screamed pain.

She was gang raped without care every single day by ugly men—but how was that woman living?!

Treated like a queen!

Unfair!!

At this point, Aubrey had long forgotten who killed the actual culprits of her sufferings and pushed out all her bitterness to the very person who saved her.

Aubrey somehow found herself nearer the car while waving her weapon, oddly gaining a burst of courage. She took advantage of the path that was cleared by the others to get nearer to Khalifa’s van.

The others were too busy contributing to notice, and Khalifa’s men were at a distance away and deeper into the horde.

They only found out her movements when she started yelling like a shrew.

"Hey! You’re so strong, what are you doing just sleeping there?!

"Come one, Khalifa! We can’t be fighting here while you’re lying down!!"

"Come out—"

Aubrey was soon pushed back by a soldier just before she was eaten by a zombie herself.

The soldier quickly shot the zombies before tutting in annoyance. This happened to be Howard. "Tsk, some people just live to bring trouble to everyone else."

His annoyed face morphed to friendly as he stared at the direction of the van. "Sorry, Miss Khalifa! Just go and rest well~"

Aubrey gritted her teeth and wanted to make another scene when, unexpectedly, the car door slid open. "It’s okay, I was woken up already."

Her lovely voice reverberated in the area nearby, making a few hearts beat a little faster.

Khalifa soon emerged from the car, shapely and as beautiful as always. By virtue of her beauty and her strength, her appearance alone increased momentum.

She effortlessly went past the zombies, heads dropping down as they walked.

"No one come near me," she said, her ice picks swinging and floating around. Because of the small safe zone she created, a lot of civilians wanted to go near.

"My attacks are indeterminate. It could hit anyone."

Her words naturally stopped groups of people from approaching, but they couldn’t help but give her another look as they stayed in place or walked farther away.

She was chewing on what seemed like… strawberry?

No one had the time to bother with this though as more mobs started approaching them.

Of course, their number alone attracted all zombies nearby, and they knew this fight would still take a while. There was no time for petty jealousy.

The scuffle continued and weak spots were found. Most specially, the areas where the survivors from the armory fought in.

The soldiers noticed this and subsequently added a few more soldiers there. Fortunately, Khalifa and the others were strong, handling their own places well.

It could be said to be a mix of organized fights surrounded by chaos.

In one of the scuffles—where Cauis had no choice but to create a wall of earth to push a horde away from him— one of the cars was turned over.

Bang!

People screamed as the car lost balance, both from the wall and the sudden hole created by Cauis’ attack.

"Move away!" The soldiers yelled and fortunately no one was harmed by the small truck.

However, it so happened that it was one of the trucks filled with weaponry, so the movements naturally made a few weapons spilled out.

The surrounding fighters and civilians brightened. It wasn’t that they couldn’t take before, but the were surrounded and it was hard to replenish for a time.

Very quickly, the people and soldiers nearby took the weapons for extra defense.

It was just that a familiar ball-like weapon rolled over near Mira.

Her eyes sharpened as she picked it up, hiding it in her coat.
