Chapter 611: Delivery_1
Chapter 611: Chapter 611: Delivery_1
“He actually dares to deliver himself to our doorstep!”
“Just right, kill him and avenge Mr. Thorneycroft!”
“So arrogant! Guys, grab your weapons!”
After a brief silence, everyone cursed angrily, filled with righteous indignation, itching to take action immediately!
“What’s all the noise about!”
Clang!
Fabian Percival struck the Boss’s staff forcefully, sneering, “You all are far too impatient. Would he come in person if it were truly a gift?”
“Who’s the deliverer?”
Brown Bread shouted loudly.
“A security guard, a car, a gift.”
That was the response from the entrance.
Everyone bowed their heads.
“Look!”
Fabian Percival snorted coldly, “A mere security guard and you get all worked up like this!”
“We weren’t thoughtful enough.”
Everyone bowed their heads, faces flushed with embarrassment.
The place was as silent as death.
“Since it’s a gift, we should at least invite him in, lest outsiders say I lack proper etiquette.”
Fabian Percival gestured with his hand, “Let’s go have a look!”
“Mr. Thorneycroft must not!”
Quinnton Michael stretched out his hand to stop him, saying anxiously, “It’s a poison egg inside! Mr. Thorneycroft must not personally take such a risk!”
“Right! The guy at the door has already reported it’s a poison egg! You and Julius Reed are enemies, he won’t have any good intentions!”
“Please reconsider, the third son of Thorneycroft!”
Everyone crowded in front of Fabian Percival.
Poison egg.
Could one really go in person?
If Fabian Percival was indeed poisoned to death, what would they do?
Aron Jackson would settle scores later on; no one could escape!
By taking this step, they had already left themselves with no way out.
“You all!”
Fabian Percival took a deep breath, saying unhappily, “Have you ever heard of someone sending a poison egg and telling the other side it’s a poison egg?”
“This…”
The crowd looked at each other in dismay, realizing they had indeed never heard of such a strategy.
“Julius Reed, he’s setting a trap for me!”
Fabian Percival pointed with his cane to the entrance, “If I dare not go there, I will become the laughingstock of the world!”
“Everyone will say, ‘Fabian Percival has gotten old, his courage has shrunk!'”
“But today, I want everyone to see that even though I haven’t returned for many years, the blood in my veins is still hot!”
Having said that, he strode towards the entrance.
“Mr Thorneycroft is mighty!”
Behind him, everyone followed in unison.
At the entrance, the security guard stood respectfully, holding a box in his hands.
And the person who delivered the gift was nowhere to be seen.
“Is this it? The poison egg?”
Fabian Percival looked at the small box and laughed, “Has Julius Reed watched too many movies, pulling off such a stunt? Trying to disgust me on purpose!”
He approached the security guard and was about to open the box.
“Let me do it, Mr. Thorneycroft, You’ve already stood here, please don’t make it difficult for us.”
Quinnton Michael stepped forward, directly blocking in front of Fabian Percival.
“I’ve come all this way, what should I be afraid of? There’s absolutely no way there’s a poison egg in here.”
Fabian Percival shook his head dismissively, a hint of pride in his eyes.
Such petty tricks to frighten him? That was far too underestimating.
“Please don’t make it difficult for us, Mr. Thorneycroft!”
Quinnton Michael stood his ground, blocking the way and looked around at the others, “Mr. Thorneycroft is our backbone; we cannot allow him to take any risks.”
“Right! Mr. Thorneycroft, please don’t put us in a difficult position.”
“Let someone else do it.”
Everyone spoke out in persuasion.
In extraordinary times, they couldn’t allow Fabian Percival to be so self-confident.
“What are you trying to do!”
Fabian Percival’s face darkened, he said coldly, “Are you all rebelling!”
“Please forgive us, Mr. Thorneycroft!”
Quinnton Michael snatched the box and flipped it open!
The next moment.
His eyes widened!
Boom!
There was a loud explosion.
The Five-Lakes Clubhouse was shrouded in dust.
“Protect Mr. Thorneycroft!”
Someone recovered from the shock of the explosion and hurriedly dragged Fabian Percival out from the crowd.
Because people were shielding him, Fabian Percival’s injuries weren’t severe, but a trickle of blood still seeped from the corner of his mouth.
The few in front of him were dead on the spot.
“Mr. Thorneycroft, are you alright?”
“Is anyone hurt? Damn that Julius Reed!”
“Call an ambulance quickly!”
Many were slightly injured and rushed to check on Fabian Percival.
“I’m… I’m fine!”
The Boss’s cane in Fabian Percival’s hand had fallen to the ground due to the shock, and he seemed somewhat dazed.
He hadn’t expected that someone would truly hide an explosive inside!@@novelbin@@
Thinking about what he had just said, he was overcome with shame.
“Where’s Quinnton Michael?”
Recalling Quinnton Michael blocking him earlier, a chill ran through Fabian Percival’s heart.
If he had insisted on opening the box himself, he might now be a corpse.
A mangled corpse.
“Quinnton Michael is dead! Blown to bits! Mr. Thorneycroft, you’d better not look.”
Everyone consciously blocked Fabian Percival’s view, their faces smeared with soot, expressions filled with despondency.
Behind them lay Quinnton Michael’s disfigured body.
Today was supposed to be a grand gathering, but the tragic incident had thoroughly dampened their once fiery spirits.
Sorrow was unmistakably written across everyone’s faces.
Far too ominous.
Meanwhile, their fervor for Fabian Percival was gradually fading.
A bad start.
“Give Quinnton Michael a grand funeral!”
Fabian Percival, with eyes closed, feeling the pain in his body, yelled, “Disperse!”
The people present all bowed deeply and silently turned away, dispersing.
Quinnton Michael’s body was carried away, leaving only mottled bloodstains on the ground.
“Julius Reed, you and I are irreconcilable enemies!”
Fabian Percival’s eyes were filled with red veins, his demeanor bordering on hysteria.
He had been bested, thrice by the same man!
“Mr. Thorneycroft, let’s return and tend to your wounds. The matter of Gonzalez City requires a long-term strategy.”
Brown Bread stepped forward, whispering words of comfort.
He was Fabian Percival’s personal guard, always by his side.
When the explosion sounded, it was he who had been the first to tackle Fabian Percival to the ground.
Now, grievously injured, he still remained dutifully by his side.
“Go and fetch Vito Leopold, she should have been released without charges by now. Afterwards, head to the hospital to rest. The Five-Lakes Clubhouse is our stronghold; no one can breach it.”
After speaking, Fabian Percival walked slowly towards the interior of the clubhouse.
“Yes!”
Brown Bread bowed deeply to the retreating figure, then turned and strode away.
…
“Honey, I’ve brought you some delicious food!”
Julius Reed stood at Knox Ridge’s front door, holding a bag of top-grade seafood worth over ten thousand dollars.
It had just come out of the pot and was still steaming.
“Who is it?”
The door opened, and a literary young man in his mid-twenties stood in the doorway.
The young man wore gold wire glasses and a smart suit.
“You are…?”
Julius Reed paused, thrown off.
An unfamiliar face, one he had never seen before.
“Who are you!”
The young man asked impatiently.
“Dominick, who’s at the door?”
Knox Ridge’s voice came from inside the house.
“I don’t know! Seems like a delivery person. Aunt, did you order delivery?”
The young man called out to the inside of the house.
“I didn’t order delivery!”
As soon as Knox Ridge finished speaking, the impatient young man said to Julius Reed, “You’ve got the wrong place!”
Whoosh!
The door was abruptly closed.
Julius Reed knocked on the door again, helplessly.
“Beat it! Knock again, and I’m calling the cops!”
After the door was opened again, the young man pointed fiercely at Julius Reed and then slammed the door shut.
What do you think?
