Chapter 612: Breaking in_1
Chapter 612: Chapter 612: Breaking in_1
Even a clay Buddha has a little fire.
Not to mention the lord of the Ten Thousand Mountain Alliance, the hidden Dragon King.
“Three seconds, open the door. Otherwise, you can’t afford the consequences,”
Julius Reed stepped back and said to the inside.
“Wow! Girl, this rotten food delivery guy is getting temperamental, daring to threaten me?”
Upon hearing Julius Reed’s words, the young man inside couldn’t help but laugh loud: “Watch how I throw this dog out!”
“One!”
“Two!”
“Three!”
“I counted for you. What now? The consequences…”
Bang!
Before Cooper Ridge could finish his sentence, the thick armored security door was slammed with a huge dent.
“Damn… Girl, call the police quick, we’re being robbed!”
Seeing the large dent on the door and the dust in front of him, Cooper Ridge backed away, frightened.
This is outright banditry!
Broad daylight, blatant home invasion?
And breaking through the door?
“What’s going on?”
Hearing the noise, Quella Radcliffe hurriedly ran out of the house.
“Sis! Someone’s robbing us, go get a kitchen knife fast!”
Cooper Ridge was so scared that his face turned pale and his legs trembled as he stood in place.
“Wife, you didn’t get to eat it yesterday, so I brought you the seafood packed for today.”
Julius Reed held up the takeout bag in his hand, shaking it.
“Wife?” Hearing what he said, Cooper Ridge turned his head to look at Quella Radcliffe, seeming to understand something instantly.
“Is this my good-for-nothing brother-in-law?”
His face instantly darkened.
“Watch your tone. Cooper Ridge, he is my husband,” Quella Radcliffe walked up to Cooper Ridge with displeasure, reprimanding him, “My husband comes home, how dare you keep him outside the door?”
Knox Ridge changed the locks, and Julius Reed didn’t have the key.
Quella didn’t have one either.
She had to knock on the door to get in when she came back.
Just now, she had gone to the kitchen to cook, unaware that Julius Reed would come at this exact moment.
Seeing her own husband come over, Quella was still very happy inside.
“Come inside and sit.”
She forcefully pulled the deformed door open and dragged Julius Reed inside.
“Wait!”
Cooper Ridge stood blocking the doorway with a dark face, pointing at the damaged security door, “Girl, come here and see, this good-for-nothing has broken the door.”
“Cooper Ridge you…”
Quella pointed at his nose, cursing angrily, “This is my house, even if it’s demolished, what does it have to do with you! Move aside!”
“That needs my aunt’s approval to see if she agrees to let this good-for-nothing in,”
Cooper Ridge looked at Julius Reed very unfriendly, snorting, “Didn’t expect you, a good-for-nothing, to have such a temper! Seems like you haven’t been shy eating off a woman!”
“Shut up!”
Quella pulled Julius Reed, speaking irritably, “This is our house; it’s fine to break! I wish you had used more strength just now to crush those who can’t see!”
The moment the two entered the house, Knox Ridge, wearing an apron, ran out of the kitchen.
Seeing the deformed security door at the entrance, she stood frozen in place.
Are they dismantling the house?
“What happened!” As her gaze landed on Julius Reed, Knox Ridge immediately turned hostile, “Julius Reed, what are you doing here!”
After the last debt collection incident, the Ridge Family was already quite dissatisfied with Knox Ridge.
Now, she had finally invited her brother over as a guest, hoping Darnell Ridge would help her so she could go back to celebrate the New Year.
But who knew that this blind Julius Reed would follow!
So what if you have money? Does having money make you so great?
Knox Ridge should have been very pleased, but it seemed like this son-in-law was only willing to spend money on Quella Radcliffe, which made her very unsatisfied.
“I’m here to see my wife and brought some stuff along the way.”
Julius Reed placed the seafood on the table and turned to leave.
With the gloom and smoke, he really didn’t want to stay.
“Julius, this is your home too, stay for dinner with us.”
Quella Radcliffe grabbed his arm, her eyes full of hope.
Seeing the plea in his wife’s eyes, Julius Reed softened and said, “Alright then!”
“Stay for what! Julius, you broke the door, what if thieves get in at night? Do you know how much I spent on this security door?”
Knox Ridge stood with hands on her hips, yelling angrily.
When you don’t like someone, even their breathing seems wrong.
“Tell me, how much?”
Julius Reed asked nonchalantly.
“One hundred thousand!”
Knox Ridge said irritably.
“Mom! Are you robbing us? Didn’t this door cost just over eight thousand?”
Quella Radcliffe looked at Julius Reed and shook her head: “Don’t worry about it, I’ll have someone replace the door later.”
“Hey! You ungrateful girl, are you turning your elbow out?”
Knox Ridge walked over, looking at Julius Reed, and said bluntly, “I don’t care, pay up now!”
“It’s just a security door, I’ll have someone install it.”
Julius Reed pointed to the security door behind him: “As for the money, there isn’t any.”
“Installing it is fine, get the door replaced within half an hour and I won’t hold it against you! Otherwise, you’ll pay the full one hundred thousand!”
Having said that, Knox Ridge spoke with pride: “How’s that? I’m reasonable, aren’t I?”
“Mom!” Quella Radcliffe called out with furrowed brows: “How is half an hour possible? Do you think the security door company is owned by our family?”@@novelbin@@
Based on normal estimates, it would take at least an afternoon at the fastest.
Half an hour?
It was a fool’s dream.
This was clearly an attempt at extortion.
“Half an hour it is.” Julius Reed took out his cell phone and called Aron Jackson: “The door at my mother-in-law’s place is broken, have someone fix it within half an hour.”
After saying that, he pocketed his cell phone: “If it’s not done in half an hour, I’ll pay you a million dollars.”
“Bragging, huh? No wonder Auntie said you’re not that capable, but you sure are full of yourself. I see your talent for bluffing is epic!” Cooper Ridge sneered as he walked in through the door.
He had been startled by Julius Reed earlier and had held a grudge.
With Knox Ridge’s attitude, he felt even more unrestrained in his mockery.
“Bluffing?” Julius Reed raised an eyebrow: “You think the door can’t be installed in half an hour?”
“If it’s installed in two hours, I’ll call you brother-in-law!” Cooper Ridge scoffed.
“If it’s done in half an hour, kneel before me, and respectfully serve me a cup of tea. As for brother-in-law?” Julius Reed snorted lightly: “Sorry, you’re not worthy of the title!”
“And what if it isn’t installed in time!” Cooper Ridge spoke coldly: “Then you kneel down and call me brother!”
“Fine.”
Julius Reed stood with his hands in his pockets, a smile on his face.
“Who’s there!”
Just then, a flushing sound came from the bathroom, followed by a woman walking out.
“Big sister, that good-for-nothing son-in-law of mine has arrived!”
Seeing the woman, Knox Ridge felt a wave of embarrassment.
She thought Julius Reed wouldn’t show up today, yet he still came.
“Oh! Clean and tidy, no wonder he can live off a woman.” The woman assessed him and nodded: “He looks about the same as those ducks in the clubhouses; no wonder Quella likes him.”
“Unlike our Dominick, although handsome, he got into Five-state International by his own abilities and has now become a project manager.”
Having said that, she moved to the sofa, not even glancing at Julius Reed.
“Aunt, you’re being a bit offensive!”
Quella Radcliffe was somewhat annoyed.
“Aunt seems very familiar with the market, one might think you’ve frequented those clubhouses quite a bit.”
Julius Reed stopped Quella Radcliffe, smiling as he looked over at Damien Leopold on the sofa.
“How dare you!”
Damien Leopold stood up abruptly, pointing at Julius Reed: “Say that again!”
What do you think?
