Legendary Architect of Apocalypse

Chapter 122 Atlas

"Come with me," the second-year student said to Elias, gesturing for him to follow.

"Thank you for the help," Elias said to the girl who had helped him, not thinking much about the kind of past she might have had related to her practicals.

He turned and followed the young man.

"Wait," the girl suddenly called out. "Before you leave, I have a question for you."

"Huh?" Elias looked back, coming to a halt. He maintained his calm exterior, even though he was somewhat worried about what she might ask.

"What is your name?" Fortunately, the question was not related to the land of fables.

"If that old hag doesn't like you, then you can't be ordinary. Which family are you from? And what was your rank in the first test?"

"My name is Atlas," Elias answered calmly, without showing the slightest fluctuation in his expression. "Atlas Rezin. I don't come from any significant family, so you probably haven't heard of my family name."

He didn't tell her his real name, instead using the name he had on Earth. Whatever was going to happen next, he didn't want to be linked to his identity in this world.

"What was your rank in the test?" the girl asked, frowning.

Normally, the professor wouldn't even spare a second glance for someone who didn't come from a position of significant privilege. If he was indeed from a small family, then her interest made even less sense.

"I was ranked fortieth," Elias replied, lying once more to place his rank in the lower half of the class.

"Only fortieth? Strange. Then why did that old hag get upset with you? Looks like he's getting more senseless with age." The girl rubbed her forehead, thinking out loud.

She didn't hold Elias back any longer and told him he could leave. The boy didn't waste a moment as he walked away, following his guide.

"What are you looking at? Start fixing the door if it's been repaired." The girl shifted her attention to the other junior before sitting down on the chair again.

The boy could only curse under his breath at the shift in her behavior from Elias to him. He returned to work and after half an hour, completely straightened the door.

He stood up and raised the heavy door above his head and carried it towards the entrance. He placed the door before the entrance and started fixing it in place.

"Just this one last bolt and I can finally be fre-" he wiped the sweat off his forehead and started completing the final touches. But just as he was about to finish, he felt a powerful force from the other side of the door.

The door that he had barely fixed in place, was sent flying back, along with the man. A myriad of fables rushed out of the hallway, screaming, "We are free!"

Many of the high tier fables used their manifestations to turn their surroundings into their domains for protection as they continued running. The weaker fables only followed along.

Lycorice and the old man were the last to step out of the hallway.

"Hmm?" The woman had just returned back to reading the book of alchemy when she heard the loud commotion.

She again lowered the book and looked to the side, watching the door that was bent once more. Her face almost went pale. After she had put so much effort in fixing it, that door was broken again?

She looked back at the building, and saw hundreds of high grade soul beasts rushing out of there, like wild beasts.

"I had to work so hard to fix it, and you just..." She kept the book aside and stood up.

The second year student looked at her weirdly. 'What do you mean you worked hard? Clearly we were the ones that repaired it! Since when did sitting on a chair and reading a book count as working hard?'

It was something that he could only say in his mind, as he didn't have the courage to speak his thoughts before the girl, especially when she seemed to be in a bad mood.

Her hair had started transforming into a bright shade of silver, as she looked at the fables rushing in her direction.

The dragon that had wrapped itself around the building had also opened his eyes.

....

The sun had just started setting, and Elias had already traveled over tens of miles on foot. Meanwhile, the boy next to him simply floated in the air, arms crossed over his chest, not wasting even the slightest bit of energy.

Elias could also do the same, but he didn't show anything extraordinary to the man, as he was supposed to be someone from an insignificant family at the moment.

He walked the entire way, following the man until he finally stopped before a door. There were no walls around the door, and nothing behind it either. It was just a single door in the middle of nowhere.

"Unless you learn how to create portals, gain a similar ability, or buy talismans for teleportation, you can only use these portal doors to go from one place to another in this vast world." The boy landed before the door and turned to Elias.

"Do you have your academy badge?" he asked.

"It was destroyed in the Land of Fables," Elias answered. He only had two badges with him, both being the identification badges of a Founding Family.

If he brought even a single one out, it could frighten the boy to death. But neither of them were his academy identification.

"Tch." The boy clicked his tongue and brought out his own identification. He tapped the door lightly with his identification badge, activating it.

Numbers from one to one hundred materialized on the door, with only a few numbers shining and the rest being dark. The boy tapped the number three which was shining.

"You can open the door. It'll open a portal and lead you to your residence, unless there's some malfunction."

Once he finished, he quickly turned around and walked away, without offering any other explanation. However, the moment he was leaving, he didn't seem to be in a good mood.

Because of Elias, he had to come so far and waste so much time. To get back at the boy and make him suffer in a similar manner, he had already done something to the door.

He made sure that it wasn't something that could hurt the boy, but also enough for him to make the boy suffer.

'You wasted my time to get home fast? I'll send you as far as possible from the residences. Have fun in the barren dockyard…'
