Legendary Architect of Apocalypse

Chapter 123 Different Path

Elias watched the senior leave. His expression was somewhat solemn as he mumbled, "Did he really think I couldn't sense his hostility? I wonder what I did to offend him."

He hadn't told them the name of his family, so it couldn't be because of that. Moreover, this was his first time seeing that boy. He was quite curious if it was really over such a mundane reason as being forced to escort him.

The only good thing was that there was no killing intent within that hostility, which made Elias ignore it to a certain extent.

"Are you still going to enter?" Astralious asked him, watching his hand slowly reach out to the door.

Even though he was still upset about Elias's identity, he couldn't stay silent and just wait for death. Even if the boy was from that family, he had to try to get close to him if he wanted to survive.

He buried the hostility deep in his heart and tried to act somewhat normal, realizing that it might be for the best if he was able to use the boy to his advantage as they were right under the nose of the Ashborn Family.

"Do you think I should?" Elias looked at the door, where the number three had been marked properly. If he went through now, then he was going to reach the place that the boy wanted to send him.

Even if the boy didn't have any intent to kill, Elias still didn't want to take a risk.

"What's your favorite number?" he asked Astralious out of nowhere.

"What?"

"I asked what your favorite number is amongst the ones shining on the door?" Elias repeated the question, ignoring the numbers that were dark since the identification of that boy clearly didn't allow access to open portals to those places.

"I don't know. Seven?" Astralious said a random number amongst the shining ones, not certain why Elias wanted him to choose.

He soon received the answer when Elias tapped number seven on the door, changing the selection from the one made by that boy. The third number returned to its usual shine, and it was the seventh number that started shining brightly.

"Do you really think it's a good idea to randomly change the destination?" Astralious asked. He had barely finished his question when Elias had already opened the door.

"We can either walk back twelve miles to find another living being to guide us, or we can take this route and find someone on the other side. And I don't think we should return," Elias mumbled, looking in the distance.

The moment that door opened, a portal materialised before him, connecting to a seperate space within the Academy's Domain. As long as it was an area accessible by someone in the second year with such ease, he didn't think that it could be too dangerous.

If it was dangerous, then there was certainly going to be someone on the other side, and he could just pretend to be lost. At worst, he could reveal his identity to protect himself. So it was better in his eyes, than staying here.

He walked through the portal, having an inkling about the kind of commotion that might have been caused already. Discover exclusive content at My Virtual Library Empire

Once again, his body travelled through a spatial tunnel, going from one part of the academy domain to the other part. Until the moment he stepped out of the other side, he remained unaware about the place he was being taken.

Fortunately, the trip didn't last long and he was soon out of the spatial tunnel, finding himself back before a similar door. He was pushed forward by the space behind him, and the door closed on its own, erasing the way back.

"Hmm? Where is this place?" Elias stood before the closed door, looking in the distance. He could see a group standing there, looking at the sky.

The group didn't include any ordinary people either, since almost all of them were wearing the attire of the Dimensional Academy Professor.

He even saw Medusa, who was their guide during the awakening and the measurement ceremony, standing in the center of the group that stood next to each other in a line, looking like they were here to welcome someone.

"I don't think this is the place where we should be," Astralious was also slightly flustered, feeling so many powerful auras gathered at a single place.

He was sure that even if he was alive and in his perfect state of the past, he still couldn't defeat even a single person standing in this group. What worried him the most, was that there was a risk that they might actually sense him, no matter how low.

He stopped all his movements in Elias' mind, and only spoke when he absolutely needed to.

"I don't think we can leave either," Elias looked back at the door, which was closed with no numbers at sight. Without an academy identification, he couldn't open the door.

He was quite unaware that there was an identification that was beyond the academy identification. The identification badge issued to the direct descendants of the Founding Families, had a similar purpose.

In some cases, they even unlocked access to more places than an academy identification badge would have allowed to a first year student. It was a privilege only allowed to the first year students.

He had the key to leave this place with him, but he didn't realize it. He was still thinking about the academy identification.

"They won't kill me for getting lost. Moreover, one of them knows me. It shouldn't be too bad." In the end, he dropped the thought of returning.

He stepped forward to ask a professor for help. But he had only taken a single step when he felt a powerful gust of wind, pushing down from the sky. The sky also turned brighter, as if a sun had risen in the sky.

He raised his head and looked at the source of the brightness in the sky. "That is…"
