Chapter 232 Feelings (3)
"Then you should just toughen it out, that's the only way I know. You might want to talk to Uncle John about this, he already knows something is wrong with you anyway."
"He knows?"
"Heck yeah, everybody thinks you are bonkers."
"More bonkers than you?"
"Heh, yeah."
They both talked for a long time, Lucas found the guy laughing and smiling more than ever.
It was the first time they had tried to bond and Lucas could not expect this situation at all.
Time seemed to go by quickly and soon, Bill was ready to ask a personal question.
"By the way, do you think this is the right decision? You… and Sarah."
Lucas looked at the guy for a few seconds, seeing that there was no more fear than normal, he felt very good talking to him like this.
"I don't know, but I don't want to make it public. But this was bound to-"
"Happen right?" Bill interjected in between, with a rare smile.
"Everyone was rooting for you and her to get together. Even Haley and Sandra had given up getting you some time ago."
"Wait, they were going for me?" Lucas asked with his eyebrows up in astonishment.
"You really are dense, Lucas. Yes, all the three liked you at some point but you didn't show any interest other than Sarah so they stopped."
"I see." Lucas said, he felt bad that he couldn't even tell if that were the case.
"Are you thinking of getting them all? Cause I think Haley and Sandra were okay with it."
"What?! NO! Are you crazy?!" Suddenly, Lucas got up and started shouting at Bill who just chuckled listening to him go crazy.
Suddenly, Bill looked in the camp's direction and then fell into the darkness with a knowing smile.
Lucas checked Sarah's breathing and found that she was awake. He did not know how much she heard so there was only one option.
"Wake up, sleepy head. It's your turn." Lucas went to her and started caressing her head.
Sarah acting as if Lucas did not know she had already woken up and faked a yawn and woke up completely.
"It's my turn already?"
"Yes" Lucas kissed her forehead making Sarah want to just snuggle with him in the bed. Continue reading at My Virtual Library Empire
"Alright."
Just like that, days passed by and they killed and killed until both of them leveled up twice.
It was then that something good happened.
-"I have found a chest with a boss monster near it."-
"Where is it?"
-"Just outside the territory in the south side. Will take 2 days of walking."-
"What is the monster like? Is it strong? What's its level?"@@novelbin@@
-"Its name is Skeleton Swordsman, level 8, looks strong with the armor its wearing and the sword that I can see shining from this far."-
"A skeleton? Damn. Alright, mark it and I will take a look. Thanks."
-"NO problem."-
"Did you get what I talked about?" Lucas asked Sarah who was nibbling on the dried jerky.
"Bits of pieces, tell me in detail."
"There is a chest with a boss monster outside the territory."
"Without a dungeon? The ones that came in the 2nd phase?"
"Yeah, we finally found one. And we will leave right now. Bill says we will get there in 2 days. Got any problems?"
"None"
They both traveled while killing as many creatures in their way as possible, no matter how many they killed, Lucas saw no decrease in the list, the creatures actually increased in numbers adding newer names with each observation.
The sheer number of these creatures had become a menace. Lucas felt like cursing the gods, things were a lot more peaceful before they gave that message.
Now even when they killed a lot, there were creatures that were unattended all this while killing and making packs of their own in the territory, getting stronger than Lucas would like.
He wanted to fight yet not so near to his home.
There was also the case that the strong creatures from outside the territory would come into the territory unknowing of the fact altogether.
It took Lucas and Sarah a single day to reach there and when they were only a few meters away, Lucas could see a silhouette to his side, the silhouette was fighting with something and it seemed like it ended before Lucas could even tell what the silhouette was fighting with.
He moved forward with Sarah and soon, the silhouette could be seen perfectly.
"Is it the same as those zombies?" Sarah asked with a pale face, nostalgia filled the air while the couple reminisced about the past.
Lucas and Sarah closed in on the marked location, anticipation building as they approached the boss monster guarding the chest. The air was thick with tension, and the distant silhouette battling the monster came into clearer view.
As they drew near, Lucas noticed the lone figure engaged in a fierce fight with a monster that was on its four feet.
Lucas ignored the poor monster that got into a fight with such a higher-level creature and just looked at the skeleton trying to find any weakness in the creature.
The skeleton was around 6 feet tall with a back that was a bit hunched. Its arm span was long making it swing the normal sword it had around with more area.
The armor on it was something that Lucas felt would be a great addition to the shelter's defenses.
"Should I wait for it to complete the fight or pounce right now?" Lucas thought aloud.
"Go get them both, this is called kill stealing."
"A gaming reference again?" Lucas asked her with a smile.
Sarah was a very shy and reserved person back on Earth, she spent most of her time with her brother and in her room reading and playing games.
"I will go and kill them both, only shoot when you think I am going to lose."
"Should I summon them?"
"Hm? Oh, not now. They should be used for emergency only with how much mana it usually takes to summon them."
"Alright, I will be right behind you."
"Just a little farther," Lucas said and dashed forward toward the two creatures.
What do you think?
