Chapter 276 Elixir of Vigor (2)

For infusion, all Lucas had to do was add specifically 3 drops of the 'Clear dew'.

After he was done with that, the infusion was done.

Then came the part Lucas had not done before, it was distillation.

The name of the tool he was going to use was the Distillation apparatus which was very convenient.

He had to heat it over magic equipment which with a click started to send out fire at the glass container.

Lucas was doing chemistry but as magic was so prominent in this world, the focus was on making things that revolved around magic.

And it was great, using chemistry in making chemicals and salts that would be converted to medicine that will hurt and heal the body at the same time was lesser in efficiency compared to the products made with the help of magic.

After he had heated the mixture to the right temperature, the desired compounds were able to easily get extracted.

The distilled mixture which had the bad compounds vaporized was then collected in another glass container.

All this time, Lucas was wearing gloves that had magic runes engraved on them, he was able to pick up such a hot container and also keep his hand on the fire without any problem.

The glove was just that good.

Lucas felt greedy to even learn that, if he could understand these runes then the ability to make these gloves with the help of John was easy.

"Pay attention!"

Lucas had a jerk from that shout, he nodded and focused on his work again, his habit of overthinking had made him divert from his path.

Now, it was time to strain the liquid to take out any solid particles or impurities, he used a strainer to do so which was made from metal.

Now came the last part which would decide how well Lucas did in the production of the elixir.@@novelbin@@

He shifted the strained liquid and transferred it to a vial that looked the same as the one Lucas used in his territory only these were a lot better in quality.

As for the very last step, Lucas put a cap on the elixir and placed it inside a small magic machine which helped in the cooling process of the elixir.

After a minute, Lucas took it out and found that the vial was now very cold and the liquid's color had changed from dark brown to the lightest one.

Lucas gulped and didn't know how Sam would react with this elixir. If it was trash then all the work he did was for nothing.

Yet it was also his first time in making one so with a big breather, he went near him.

"Hm… you took 40 minutes to make the potion, which is good if the potion is better than I hope you would make… Give me that." Sam with a grin on his face took the elixir from his hand and opened the cap of the elixir.

He gave it a little sniff and nodded, Lucas was sure that the remark would come any minute yet Sam was not done.

He took a machine that looked like another magic tool and opened it.

Lucas found some space inside it which was literally only enough to keep the vial in.

Sam did just that, he kept the vial inside the magic tool and closed it.

With a press of a button, the sound of locking came from the machine.

Lucas waited for the machine to say something and finally, in 10 seconds, the results had come.

A color had started flashing from the bulb above the machine.

"I didn't expect that…" Sam said with a pleasant smile.

"What does blue color mean, master?" Lucas asked with nervousness.

His mind made him want to go for perfection from the start as always yet this was also something that he had to improve about himself.

Perfection cannot be gained by just doing enough, one has to go up and beyond in order to be perfect.

He tried to engrave this quote in his mind, yet it was tough.

"Well done, Lucas. You made a Superior-grade elixir."

Lucas looked at the guy and read his emotions, his master was feeling satisfied, astonished, and greedy for some reason.

"Hm, let me explain. There are 3 grades of potions, weapons, arrays, and many others that are known among the civilians.

The first is Standard Grade which gives off a green light in this Magic rank-detecting machine.

Next is the Superior grade which gives off the blue color and the premium grade which gives the purple color."

Sam explained which made Lucas satisfied with his performance.

"There are 3 ranks and I am already at the 2nd… this path is looking good," Lucas said with a cheeky smile, Sam chuckled looking at his childish side which made him sure of one thing.

Lucas was passionate about learning and manufacturing but on top of that, he had the craving to be the best.

'It seems I picked up a good rabbit… It's unfair that you can't see this, my dear…' Sam thought while looking at a picture frame on his table, the picture was of a woman with white hair, she was very beautiful.

Lucas was so engrossed in his own celebration and happiness that he could not detect the sadness coming out of Sam.

After a minute, Lucas finally looked at Sam who was staring at him with a frown. Lucas finally stopped smiling and became serious.

"I can't refute that you are better than most, this was your first time making an elixir but with your precision, it seemed like you have done this before but that is not possible. So I conclude that this is because of your crafting energy essence. But as for these 3 ranks, you should not fixate on them."

"What do you mean by that?"

"I am not allowed to tell you this till you are promoted to an advanced alchemist but as you are my apprentice, I will warn you that there is a ranking beyond this one, the one that is not known by the common folk which includes you."

Sam's face was very serious when he said that making Lucas confident in the fact that he was told something that was kept secret from many.
