Chapter 281 Real talk in the cell

"…This way"@@novelbin@@

The carriage had stopped and after the head guard came out, he made both Lucas and Mark to leave it too.

All this time, he wasn't making much eye contact with Lucas.

Lucas himself didn't understand what was happening, he had made a total mess of the situation due to losing control.

For the first time, he saw that the mark was a very big liability, anything that would make him lose his rationality without any reason would always be a bad thing.

With the head guard in the front, the other guards in the back, and the 2 convicts in between. They made their way inside the construction.

Many outside the police station saw Lucas enter it, leading to a lot of whispering.

When Lucas entered through the main gate, everyone looked toward him. There were many in there, with the same armor as the head guard while some were sitting in uniforms writing on what seemed important papers.

Lucas felt weird looking at them all stare at him. He looked around his body and found that he had no blood or anything on him.

"Lucas… y-your bloodlust…" Finally, Mark had the gall to say this to him. He had been trying to make Lucas understand for a long time.

"Hm?" Lucas's mark was still pulsating and now that he looked, he could see a stream of dark black energy coming out of it and entering his body.

There were even lumps of this energy all around the mark as if there was no output to put it into.

Lucas gritted his teeth and made a connection with the heart again not knowing what to do anymore.

He nodded toward Mark and looked at everyone again.

"Lock him in the cell, he busted a whole restaurant and critically attacked a civilian right in the center of the city."

"In the middle of the city? That's a new one." A guy even bigger than the head guard came close to Lucas.

"Look at his eyes Sabil *Whistle*" The big man said with a whistle, Lucas smiled toward him to show that he was friendly and for the one chance that they ignore his bloodlust.

"You can't lock me up, I know I did wrong but please talk to my master one time."

"Hm? Who is your master?"

"Master Sam from Sam's workshop."

Every person in the area listening in on the conversation had a bewildered expression.

"The master alchemist? Don't joke around with something that can get you in even more trouble." The big guy now seemed like the actual head of the building, he was the only one who was talking now.

"You can get my apprentice badge in this pocket," Lucas said and touched his chest pocket with his chin. Even that made the guy on the side flinch.

The big guard just snorted and looked inside the pocket, his whole body froze when he saw something valuable inside.

"This…" The head guard made some distance and did not dare touch the badge, Lucas was amused by his reaction.

"Please contact my master, this way, you will know its true."

"Ugh, what a mess." The big guy massaged his forehead while looking at Lucas, the surprise he felt was now gone.

"For now, put them both in the cell, we will have to make some contacts first."

"Thank you for understanding." Lucas didn't forget to give a polite remark before leaving, it was the only thing he could do.

Arrogance was not going to get him anywhere right now when even he knew that he was in the wrong.

The big guy looked at him leave for the cell with a frown.

"Go get the Master Alchemist… things are going to get rowdy now."

Lucas and Mark were sent inside a room which had metallic walls and even the gate looked very thick and heavy.

There were many other cells in that place, which looked weaker than this one making Lucas understand one thing.

The head guard that took him here was wary toward him, he had the reasons for it but the wariness had led to him getting special criminal treatment.

"Lucas… can you tell me what happened now? Whatever I saw in that shop was not normal…" Mark had sat at the corner and asked him with a pale expression.

He was very scared, Lucas could tell by looking at his face.

'I can't call him weak for being scared right now… his reaction is legit…'

Lucas massaged his shoulders while trying to come up with an explanation.

"I wouldn't have asked you if we were not in this situation, but I think I have to know what happened there now…"

"… It's not that I don't want to tell you, its that I don't know how to tell you."

It was the first time in a while that Lucas was speechless, it happened a lot with John but ever since he got here, things had become boring and exciting at the same time.

Suddenly, Lucas found the best explanation that could make Mark understand in a second about his situation or it would go over his head.

With a sigh, Lucas finally continued, "I have chaos energy inside me."

SILENCE

Lucas took a sniff in the air and all he could detect was fear coming out of Mark. By face, Mark was all blank while staring at him.

For some time, there was an unusual and uncomfortable eye contact.

"That's a big news for me Lucas… I don't even know why the church left you alive."

"That's because I did not choose Chaos Knight as my class that time." Lucas said yet Mark was still not convinced.

"No, you can just choose it at your next class change, Lucas." Mark said and his eyes were at Lucas yet they were dazed as if he had lost some hope or something.

"What have I gotten myself into?" Suddenly, a trickle of tear came out of his eye making Lucas feel even more complex. He could not tell what was happening.

All he could sense was fear, sense of hopelessness, and sadness from Mark.

"I think the church is planning something for you Lucas... And I have gotten myself involved..."
