Chapter 284 Savoring the fight!
Early morning, Lucas was already in front of the workshop waiting for his guide to come.
He already had a talk with his master, that someone was coming to be his guide.
What Sam didn't know was that Lucas fighting in the forest should be the least of his worries.
Lucas waited for a few minutes and soon, a man came and went inside the workshop.
'He must be the one…'
After a while, the man came back again and came in front of Lucas.
He had black hair, a height of around 6 feet, and burly muscles. He could see Jerry in the man yet there was a lack of savageness in this guy.
"Nice to meet you, I am Arin and you must be Lucas, right?"
"Right, Nice to meet you too, Arin."
They shaked their hands and Lucas could feel the guy trying to put some pressure on his hand.@@novelbin@@
The darkness was a menace, making his already sensitive emotions into nukes.
The simplest of provocation felt like a death threat to Lucas and with a grin, he placed some pressure of his own too.
A crease formed on Arin's face and he quickly exerted more strength until he retracted his hand.
"Good, it seems you are at least not dead meat. Follow me and take this." Arin had a small smile on his face.
It seemed the bad decision of getting aggressive played well in this situation for Lucas.
Soon, the guy gave Lucas a sword, it was a fine blade, and Lucas swung it around to get the feel.
'It's still worse than my sword.'
"Good hand movements, did you learn them from a book?" Arin made a slight remark with a laugh.
'Oh, I didn't realize that.' Soon, Lucas got why the guy was so sarcastic toward him.
Lucas was an alchemist and in this world, while alchemists are very important, they are also very pompous and have high standards.
The image of an alchemist is that of a frail damsel in distress sitting in a room his whole life, making potions and elixirs.
'Oh man, your world is going to be upside down soon.' A grin formed on Lucas's face.
He couldn't help but be excited for his fight in the forests and to show Arin what an alchemist is all about.
"What did you bring with you? I have to know what you will use beforehand to keep you safe in there. I know about your leather armor, every alchemist wears it for the safest places too." Arin gazed at the belt on Lucas's waist and whistled looking at all the potions and stuff hanging or in the pockets.
"Oh, they are just normal potions, you know, stamina increase, mana, and health," Lucas said with a smile but he had not told everything to him.
He had all the things that Sam had given him so that Lucas could sell them and make a living yet Lucas had not sold a single of those stuff.

He brought them all to understand what they could do in a fight truly.
"Remember, the forest is infested with monsters of various kinds," Arin cautioned. "Stay alert and follow my lead, don't go rogue."
Lucas nodded, his mind focused on the path ahead. After some time, they arrived at the forest's edge, where the trees grew thick. Lucas felt nostalgic, the shadows from the big trees, the bushes, and everything about that forest made him nostalgic toward his people.
Arin took the lead, guiding Lucas through the dense forest, he was going slow intentionally so that Lucas could be ready with full stamina when they had an encounter.
Lucas sniffed the air and he couldn't help but giggle, his excitement made it tough for the extra darkness to stay inside the heart now.
It all burst out and Lucas's canine elongated not that Arin could notice.
"This way"
"Hey! I said I am leading!"
At the back of his head, Lucas wanted to shout at Arin who shouted in a forest full of monsters yet he was not the leader, and in his particular case, the more the merrier.
Arin followed the guy cluelessly until they both stopped in front of a small clearing, there was a den there and it was filled with inhabitants.
"Fuck, these are shadow wolves, they are weaker in the day but we don't have enough people to take them on."
"What? Don't bullshit me, there are only 6 here, we both will be enough." Lucas said and a drool came out of his mouth.
"Woah Woah, calm down, Lucas. If you are thinking they are edible, they aren't."
"Just wait and watch, I will kill them without going anywhere near."
"NO!" Arin said furiously yet he saw Lucas smiling.
"What are you smiling about?" Arin not felt very pissed off.
But then Lucas pointed at the wolves and Arin finally saw that each and every one was looking in their direction.
The wolves hadn't noticed them before, and it was because Lucas was still in a little control. He didn't want another case of him waking up from destroying the things around him.
But he couldn't help the stupidity of others.
The wolf's eyes were gleaming with a sinister glow. Arin drew his bow, ready to take them down, but before he could act, Lucas stepped forward, his hands had multiple potions.
With a swift motion, Lucas unleashed one potion after another toward the wolves, each had a good enough speed, causing wolves to try to move here and there, some moved yet the unfortunate ones either burst out in flames, exploded, or froze in one place.
The creatures stumbled, momentarily disoriented, allowing Lucas to strike. He followed up with another well-aimed potion, releasing a cloud of thick, blinding smoke around the pack.
Arin watched in astonishment as Lucas expertly took care of the wolves from afar without getting in danger, Lucas had not used the sword he had till now.
The hunter guide hired by Sam for Lucas had expected Lucas to struggle, but his insight and precision were beyond what they had anticipated.
What do you think?
