Legendary Shelter Survival Guide

Chapter 302 Rewards greater than any

"Then let me open the chest now, Overseer."

-"Of course,"-

Another silhouette materialized where the transportation circle was until it became a wooden chest.

Lucas smiled nostalgically and went toward it, he quickly opened the lid of the chest making 2 compartments show themselves in front of him.

The right compartment had the word 'Skill' written on it and the other had 'Weapon'.

Lucas quickly looked through the skills that were in the form of a small piece of paper inside the compartment.

====

Shadow Step

Uncommon

Shadow Step allows the user to momentarily meld with shadows, enabling quick, silent movement over short distances. The user can step into one shadow and emerge from another within the skill's range. At higher levels, the distance and number of steps can be increased, and the user can even become temporarily invisible.

====

Arcane Threads

Rare

This skill allows the user to weave invisible threads of arcane energy that can be used to manipulate objects, create traps, or bind enemies. The threads are nearly undetectable and can be controlled mentally by the user. At higher levels, the threads can become stronger, longer, and capable of conducting elemental energy (e.g., fire, lightning) or even cutting through materials like a blade.

====

Earth's Embrace

Discover stories at My Virtual Library Empire

Uncommon

Earth's Embrace grants the user the ability to manipulate the earth around them to create barriers, traps, or even armor. At higher levels, the skill allows the creation of more complex structures or the reinforcement of existing ones. This skill is ideal for defensive strategies or controlling the battlefield.

====

Thunderclap Nova

Epic

Thunderclap Nova allows the user to unleash a powerful burst of electrical energy that radiates outwards in all directions. The burst of energy creates a shockwave of lightning that stuns and damages all enemies within range. At higher levels, the skill's range and intensity increase, and it can even chain lightning between multiple targets.

"Oh lord, these skills are quite good. I didn't expect that." Lucas tried scratching his beard yet finding nothing made him remove it quickly too.

-"You soloed the boss monsters that should take 5 party members to do, so they are very reasonable. Although, nothing can compare to those chaos skills of yours."- The Overseen stated.

"My chaos skills took me a long time and a lot of help to master, it's a pity I can't use them."

-"In the end, it's your choice."-

Lucas looked at the skills yet his mind shifted to something else, 'Isn't it the 2nd or 3rd time the overseer stated it's my choice? Am I missing something?'

Lucas tried thinking of an explanation behind it yet it had to be delayed, for now, Lucas wanted to select one of the many good skills he had a choice from.

"Any tips?" Lucas asked in courtesy.

"The Thunderclap Nova will be the best for your fighting style,"-

"Wait, you can help me?" Lucas looked at the room with surprise.

-"Isn't it what I have been doing since we met at the quest selection dimension?"-

"Hahaha, I guess that's true."

He looked at his options again, this time, his face changed to that of proper seriousness.

'Shadow step is the skill Bill is already mastering so I have no need for it,' He thought and stopped looking at the 'Shadow step' skill.

The next was the 'arcane threads', Lucas could tell that it was a skill that might not come back for him to choose again and again.

While the thunderclap was good in combat. The arcane threads had uses that were far superior in Lucas's eyes.

'Earth's Embrace is tempting for its defensive versatility, but I already have plenty of defensive skills,' Lucas mused, his eyes flickering over the remaining options.

He could feel the weight of the decision pressing on him. Each skill had its own allure, its own potential to shape his journey, but he could only choose one.

He hovered over Thunderclap Nova again. The Overseer had recommended it for a reason, it was powerful, effective, and perfectly suited for the kind of fights Lucas often found himself in.

But power wasn't everything. Lucas knew that versatility and utility could sometimes outweigh raw strength. He had seen it many times in the quest world.

Lucas wasn't just a warrior, he fancied himself as a tactician, someone who thrived on strategy as much as one might.

His gaze returned to Arcane Threads. The more he thought about it, the more he realized the potential it held. The ability to manipulate the battlefield, to create traps, to bind enemies, were tools that could turn the tide of any encounter. But more than that, Lucas felt like he could use it for his crafting.

But the fact that the thunderclap Nova skill was Epic grade, by rank, was even more valuable. Skills like this didn't come around often, and when they did, they had to be seized."Overseer, the additional awards I gain because of our contract are still there, right?"

-"Yes"-

"Then is it possible for me to choose something right now and get the other one through those rewards?"

"Yes, it's possible. But if you choose a skill here, then it would depend on the rank of the other skill that decides whether you can get it in one try."

Lucas took a second to understand but then he nodded, if he decided to leave the thunderclap

Nova which was an epic-grade skill, then he wouldn't be able to ask for it till he completed a certain level of difficulty.

His hand went inside the compartment and he pulled out an old-looking piece of paper. The skill 'Arcane threads' was acquired by him successfully.

-"Good choice, although the thunderclap Nova would have been better for your chance of survival."-

"Don't worry, I will be getting it from you soon," Lucas said with a confident smile on his face, he placed the piece of paper in his pocket.

His gaze reached the other compartment, the one where 'Weapons' was written. Lucas looked at all of the options with all his focus.

He leaned closer, examining each weapon with the same meticulous care he had shown the skills. One by one, the weapons revealed themselves to him, each accompanied by a brief description that highlighted its potential.

====

Blaze Edge

Epic

The Blaze Edge is a sword forged from a rare metal that absorbs and amplifies heat. When wielded, the blade can ignite, engulfing itself in flames without damaging the wielder. The flames can be controlled, allowing the user to unleash fiery slashes or create a barrier of flames around them. At higher levels, the Blaze Edge can summon firestorms and melt through even the toughest of armors.

====

Phantom Dagger

Rare

The Phantom Dagger is a lightweight weapon designed for stealth and precision. When thrown, it can disappear into the shadows and reappear at the target's weakest point, making it nearly impossible to block or evade. The dagger also returns to the wielder's hand after each strike.

At higher levels, the dagger's range and speed increase, and it can be imbued with poisons or curses to debilitate enemies.

====

Stormcaller Bow

Epic

The Stormcaller Bow channels the power of storms, allowing the user to shoot arrows infused with lightning. The arrows can strike with incredible force, creating shockwaves upon impact. At higher levels, the bow can summon thunderclouds, calling down bolts of lightning to strike multiple targets simultaneously. The bow also enhances the user's reflexes and aim, making them an unparalleled marksman.

====

Titan's Maul

Uncommon

The Titan's Maul is a massive hammer imbued with the strength of giants. Each swing delivers a crushing blow capable of shattering bones and armor alike. The maul's weight increases with the force of the user's will, making it a devastating weapon in the hands of someone with great physical strength.

At higher levels, the maul can create tremors with each impact, destabilizing the ground and knocking enemies off balance.

====

"Were the rewards always this good?" Lucas asked again and felt a thrill of excitement as he read through the descriptions. Each weapon was extraordinary in its own right, and the choice was as difficult as when he had selected his skill.

He let his hand hover over the pieces of paper in a try to feel the energy radiating from them, trying to sense which one called to him the most.

Alas, it was not possible until the weapon was in a physical state.

-"As I said, soloing the dungeon boss monsters is not what is supposed to happen, but if you do it, the dungeon doesn't betray your expectations."- The Overseer stated in a robotic voice.

"Did you choose the rewards for me?"

-"No"- The Overseer answered instantly.

Lucas did not pry into it much, it was not a matter that could help him anyway.

His gaze fell on the description of the weapons again.

Blaze Edge was powerful, and its destructive capabilities were undeniable which was perfect for Sarah. Phantom Dagger offered unparalleled stealth, which could be useful for precise, silent kills which was perfect for Bill.

The Stormcaller Bow appealed to his tactical side, offering ranged attacks with elemental power which was perfect for John. Titan's Maul was a brute force weapon, perfect for overwhelming opponents with sheer strength which was perfect for Jerry.

Now it all depended on who needed a new weapon direly.
