Chapter 102 Chee Chee! ‘Add…Points'

Hearing the clear resolve in her Chee's, Aoni would have had to be a total idiot not to understand what was going through her head.

'She doesn't want to be left behind; she's the new kid on the block, but having spent a day with Glacia and seeing her going through the upgrades unscathed, Nyria is putting it all on the line.' Extending his arms out, Aoni smiled and motioned for Nyria to claim the same spot Glacia had not long ago.

Of course, although a bit skittish, the fledgling still hopped once, twice, and then, with a flap of her wings, she landed in the Lad's lap.

Calmly petting the bird in his lap, Aoni observed her SD and could feel his stomach churn slightly.

'Ah, this is going to be expensive. Nyria has four passives, but at least I won't have to spend points on her Potential for now.' Unable to bear looking at his current progress points after spending what was no doubt a large sum on Glacia, Aoni went ahead with the upgrade procedure, starting off by pushing Nyria's Grade up, one step at a time.

Following the same pattern as he had with the floof, after each session, he would observe the physical changes in his summon, and only after he was sure his fledgling wasn't in pain did he continue.

Upon reaching the One-Star Full-Step, Nyria's feathers seemed to gain a bit more luster, especially the ones forming a crest on her head; they curled a little more and deepened in color.

However, the real changes began upon reaching Two-Star Inner-Fill.

All of a sudden, her body shuddered, forcing Aoni to stop and calm her down due to worry.

"Are you okay, Nyria?" he asked calmly, running his hand over her soft top feathers.

"Chee,"

'Okay…'

"We are almost done, just a few more, and then you can sleep, just like your sister did." Making sure to coddle his fledgling like he had the floof, Aoni gave Nyria a short break between each Upgrade, tending to her by providing plenty of cuddles.

Once he felt her body stabilizing, he pressed on, going through all the different steps, until the arrow next to her grade vanished, indicating she had reached her current limit.

"Alright, we are all done, Nyria; sleep well, little one; when you wake up, you'll be so strong that even your sister will have to chase after you." Bringing the bird up and placing a soft kiss atop her head, Aoni watched Nyria's eyes turn to crescents before she drifted off into Hibernation.

However, before Aoni could begin the process of upgrading all four of her Passives, he noticed something odd.

Unlike Glacia, whose Hibernation Timer started at 24 hours, Nyria's…

Summon: "Nyria" has entered a state of Hibernation to adapt to the changes.

Hibernation time, 11 hours, 59 minutes 33 seconds

~Had been set to 12 instead.

'Interesting. Is this because she is a natural 3-Star summon?'

Indeed

'I'm getting really annoyed at your popping in at random times,' sporting a frown that radiated aggression as he read the single-word notification, Aoni calmly placed his hand on his fledgling and began upgrading her passives one by one until they reached the Full-Star step of 2-Star.

Or at least that was the plan until he Got to Ice Manipulation, that is.

Up until that point, everything had been going according to plan, but when the passive reached the peak of One-Star, the arrow indicating it could be upgraded suddenly vanished, followed by a notification.

Shared passives between Summon's and Lords can not pass that of the Lord's strength

'Huh? The fuck does that even mean? First off, they are classified as two entirely different things. My Passive has a Rank, not a Grade; how can it even be the same thing? Rephrase it in simpler terms, damn it!' Gritting his teeth, Aoni swapped over to his TD and tried to find what was causing the issue.

Your adventure continues at My Virtual Library Empire

And it wasn't helping that the Attribute Notice was staying silent either, something the Lad took as mockery.

'There are two options here: one is the G-Rank being considered as 1-Star, and the other…has to do with my Attribute Grade. So which one is it, you stupid freaking popup ad?'

Attribute

'OH, IT SPEAKS, tsk, coulda fucking said that before I got all pissed off,' smacking his lips and laying Nyria on the bed beside Glacia, Aoni did his best to stay quiet, even though he was fuming internally.

Still, no matter how mad he was, the Lad still noticed that even after upgrading all of Nyria's passives, she still had a shorter hibernation timer, with it only reaching 39 hours, meaning she would wake up a full 8 hours earlier than Glacia.

After leaving the room and the cave as a whole and stepping out into the chilly afternoon Air, Aoni crossed his arms and confronted the ethereal notification window.@@novelbin@@

"So you are saying that if I share a passive with one of my summonses, I can only upgrade it as high as my Attributes Grade?"

Correct

"What happens if I summon something with a naturally higher Grade in the same passive?"

The Summon's Passive will be Reset to Null

"HUH? How does that make any sense at all."

How does crossing your fingers and doing a dance ensure high-level Summons

Flinching away from the notification as it threw a sassy jab at him for the first time, Aoni took a step back as his eyes shot wide open out of shock.

"Did you…"

Merely stating counter-arguments based on User's previous actions

Blinking several times in rapid succession, Aoni stood dumbfounded for about a minute before releasing a tired sigh.

Dumb as he may be, Aoni knew on a subconscious level that the AN wasn't merely taunting him and just firing back answers to his questions in random intervals; even so, that didn't mean he wasn't going to get defensive.

"Whatever, it's like arguing with a fucking scriptwriter; it just shits out answers," Crossing his arms and pacing around the platform, Aoni eventually went through the motions of setting up the materials necessary for crafting some leather equipment and sat down at his workbench in the Crafting station.
