Legendary Traveler: By Earning Progress Points I will Become Supreme!

Chapter 103 Finishing A Project

"Before I start…should I check my Progress points…can my heart even take it?" Sitting with his scissors in one hand and a crude chisel in the other, Aoni's thoughts drifted off-topic as he felt a pang in his chest.

There was no doubt he had burned the BULK of his nearly 800 points…but did he really want to know the exact number? I mean, sure, there had been flashing Notifications indicating he was earning bonus points at a constant flow; however, based on the flashing numbers he had barely seen, it wasn't difficult to take note of the fact that Aoni wasn't getting remotely close to the amount back by upgrading his Summons as he would have by upgrading himself.

'Foooo, you're not a coward, Aoni, just look at it, no biggy…' hyping himself up, Aoni placed his tools down before leaning back on the wooden stool he'd made a few days back and checked his TD.

Progress Points: 81.5

'It hurts….' Feeling a tear slide down his cheek, Aoni fell back onto the floor while covering his head with his hands for protection.

THUD

"Fucking 700 points, gone, in a flash; wait, shouldn't I have earned back enough to compensate for the loss?" Sitting up and praying his AN would give him good news, Aoni soon collapsed back onto the floor because of the pop-up that came next.

Negative, point gain by summons is halved

Reading his thoughts, the annoying AN appeared in front of Aoni's face, causing him to punch at the air in an attempt to clear the ethereal window from his vision.

"Half points…so if it were me, I would have ended up somewhere in the 300 range?"

Estimates show that if the User were to increase their Stats and Passives in such a manner, a total of 481.5 points would have remained

"Uuuuuuugghhhh," pulling at his hair in frustration, Aoni rolled around on the wooden floor of the Crafting station for several minutes until he collected his thoughts and halted his tantrum.

"Ridiculous, it's absolutely stupid; it's bad enough that I have diminished returns on adding points, but even those are cut in half, at least I didn't do something dumb like instantly increasing everything to its limit.

Negative Balances are impossible, function would have failed

"WHO THE FUCK ASKED YOU!" flailing his left hand around like he was swatting an annoying fly, Aoni huffed loudly before getting to work on the unfinished project he had spent the last few days working on.

Spread out on the workbench was a poorly crafted shirt. Coat? Armored Jacket? Well, calling it one of those was generous at best, considering all the Lad had done was stitch some softer hide into the upper torso of a Chimera pelt.

The idea was relatively simple: use the basic resources to create something wearable, such as the inner lining, for the sake of comfort.

Realistically, what he ended up cobbling together was a two-size-too-big overcoat with a head-hood. Of course, Aoni had gone ahead and sewed the mouth and eyes closed; even so, when he tried it on for the first time, Glacia was so shocked that she almost launched herself at him, thinking he'd been eaten by one of the chimeras.

Luckily, he had dropped the hood and revealed himself to the innocent floof, who wouldn't stop checking in on him every few minutes to make sure it wasn't an illusion. Your journey continues at My Virtual Library Empire

Although Aoni had to admit, if anyone else saw him, they would definitely take him for a native or, worse yet, a wild beast.

As for why he had chosen to make the Coat in this way, that's simple: not only did the pristine white chimera fur work as perfect snow camouflage, but it was also quite warm.

When paired with his Passives, the Lad felt the winter chill vanish and get replaced with a nice Spring temperature.

With Glacia and Nyria in hibernation and nothing better to do, he went ahead and spent a solid 12 hours straight finishing up his Coat, mainly trimming and sizing it until it ACTUALLY fit his body, and once complete, Aoni couldn't resist the urge to check it out in his Crafter's Display.

1: Crude Articus-CervusKumoni Fur-Armor-Coat

Defense: G+ (►)

Durability: G+ (►)

Grade: ☆(►)

Effect: N/A

"Again, with the weird names, Well, at least I know the Chimera's are called…Articus CervusKumoni….sigh, I liked it better when I was calling it a Chimera." Shrugging his shoulders, Aoni noted that he had indeed created the desired item, a Fur-Armor-Coat, which was something he had been aiming for.

Then again, between his survival lessons and whatnot, he should have been able to create something more…useful or, at the very least, didn't look like he ripped the skin off a beast and was wearing it.

Still, given the lack of resources and, well…points, he wasn't too worried and figured after a few upgrades, it would become solid defensive equipment.

"Still, the fact that my creation not only has G+ stats but also a Grade of One-Star is further proof of Glacia's achievement." Having already scolded the floof for disobeying him and leaving the Barrier, Aoni had gotten over it, but seeing the stats of his new Coat, he could only sigh.

Glacia, while clearly underpowered when compared to a pack of Chimera….Articus-whatevers was more than capable of taking them out.@@novelbin@@

"I wish I could have seen that; I mean, I've been along for a few hunts now, but all I see is my adorable furball barreling through helpless prey; maybe it's time to go after something bigger." Taking off his shitty sleeping bag jacket, Aoni replaced it with his new Coat and began working on some leather pants and a shirt.

After all, they were basically in tatters after having been worn every day for over two weeks.

"I can't keep coddling Glacia, or for that matter, Nyria, sure I have to be more gentle with the latter, trauma and all, but the fact still stands, we are up shits creek, and if neither one of them know how to fight properly…chasing rabbits and foxmoles will be the least of our worries."
