Considering night was rapidly approaching, the remainder of the afternoon was devoted to settling Glacia and Nyria into their new beds, which, although something seemingly simple, was anything but.

This was especially so in the case of the floof.

From the moment she had been summoned to his side, Glacia had spent every night sleeping with him in the same space, and when bedtime rolled around that evening, of course, the first thing she would do was bounce her way into the bedroom and start getting comfortable in her usual place.@@novelbin@@

"Glacia…" facepalming and releasing an exasperated groan, Aoni calmly walked over and sat down on the bed beside her.

"We've gone over this; you have your OWN bed now, heck you even brought your pillow out to it, so you can't keep coming in here like this, " picking her up off the bed, Aoni let her legs dangle, just like a cat, as he trudged out of the bedroom with a waddle and set the unruly Glacia down.

"As I said multiple times already, this is only a temporary thing. Tomorrow morning, I start working on dismantling the wall, and only then can the room be rearranged."

"Yes, and after that, we can all sleep in the same room again, but for now, it's out here by the fireplace, got it?" Inhaling through his nose and trying not to get frustrated by Glacia's lack of understanding, Aoni looked to Nyria for help but found her completely ignoring the situation and playing with her trinkets.

"OoO Gaooooo…"

"Yeah-yeah, I know," rolling his eyes and assuming she was complaining again, Aoni shook off his coat and balled it up in between Nyria's nest and Glacia's bed before returning to the room to retrieve his blanket.

'Good night, brother,' Nyria said while fluffing up her feathers after tapping each of her trinkets with care as if wishing them good night, too.

"Goodnight, sleep well, because in the morning we got plenty of work to do," Wearing a gentle smile and laying down between his summons, Aoni stretched both arms out like wings and pet the floof and birb one last time, then settled in for the night.

-12 Days Until the Barrier Drops-

As promised, the moment morning chores were completed, Aoni's first order of business was dismantling and resizing the bedroom wall, a task that frankly was a bit beyond his means.

With how dense and solid the block would be, the moment It had been detached from the fittings holding it in place, the damn thing nearly crushed the Lad as it fell forward, and if not for the combined efforts of himself and, surprisingly the floof, things could have gotten quite bad.

Luckily, he had foreseen something like this happening and had Glacia ready on standby if things got outta hand, which it did, but once the wall was transformed into a stage in the middle of the cave, Aoni set to work.

For the better part of the morning and even after lunch, he tirelessly toiled away, cutting and reshaping the wall into what would become the cave's door.

Meanwhile, with the hardest part done, the two summons were given tasks of their own to complete.

For Nyria, it was back to exploring and gathering more trinkets, and Glacia was sent off to hunt.

At some point, the two linked up, and Glacia joined in on the exploration fun until the time both got hungry and returned for dinner.

To their amazement, upon making it back to the camp, they were quick to notice the door had been slotted into place and found Aoni working on setting the hinges.

"GAOOO!"

"Chee cheee,"

"Oh, is it dinner time already?" sticking his head out from the crack left between the door and the cave, Aoni greeted his summons with a smile and wiped the sweat from his forehead.

'Big Sister has been grumbling about being hungry for a while; I got tired of hearing it,' with her eyes twitching slightly as she informed Aoni of what happened; Nyria landed on one of the log seats next to the campfire.

"Yeah, she does that, hm…" walking out without his coat, Aoni was about to walk over and begin preparing their evening meal when he spotted Glacia fiddling with one of the chests some distance away.

Raising an eyebrow and heading over to her, the Lad watched his frustrated floof plop down and wait for him to help. On the way over, seeing how agitated Glacia was acting, he was able to piece together what was on her mind.

The chest itself was the one storing what remained of their equipment, and if Glacia wanted something in there, it could only mean one thing: she was jealous.

"Hmm, I wonder what my little fluffball wants from the chest so bad," wearing a teasing smile, Aoni reached down to pat Glacia's head before opening the chest and stepping back.

The moment the chest was open, the floof dove in and came out holding her satchel, causing the Lad to chuckle at her antics.

"You know that one won't fit anymore, right? So, I need to adjust it for you if you plan on gathering trinkets like your sister." It didn't take a genius to understand what was happening. Having spent the better part of today following Nyria around exploring, it would be strange if the collection of random objects hadn't influenced the impressionable Glacia.

"Gaoooooooooooooo," she said, throwing her head back and releasing an annoyed sound because she knew it would take her Lord some time to fix her satchel. The floof looked up at Aoni with pleading yet teary eyes.

"Okay, okay, after dinner, I'll patch it up for you and make new straps so that tomorrow you can start gathering trinkets, too," rolling his eyes, Aoni chuckled and took the pack from Glacia's mouth before getting some meat from the food chest and starting dinner.

Once everyone's bellies were full, it was back to work for Aoni while his summons examined Nyria's haul for the day: yet another batch of stones, weird leaves, and twigs.
