Legendary Traveler: By Earning Progress Points I will Become Supreme!

Chapter 134 The Final 12 Days (10)

When it comes to stat training, apart from the boring and typical way of doing so, IE, working out, fighting, and training, there exist numerous alternatives, which, depending on the method, range from being as cheap as picking up a fast food meal, to as expensive as buying a mansion several times over.

Among these methods, two are more popular than others. The first is something Aoni has already ignored for the most part, and that is targeted Energia Training, in which an Energia Crystal is absorbed to increase the EC.

As for why this is called Targeted Energia training, it's for a simple reason: the only Stat that will see a nominal increase is, of course, the Energia Stat. Although there will be a trickle-down into other stats as the added Energia courses through the body, they are negligible and borderline impossible to notice.

And that brings us to why the Energia Cell of other creatures is so important as a resource. Much like how an Energia Crystal, a naturally forming resource crafted out of dense Ambient Energia, can increase the corresponding Stat upon its absorption by a being, there is a key bodily reaction that occurs in the body after digested Stat allocation.

Since the EC is an organ and the primary container for a being's Energia, it will have a naturally higher content but also carry signatures of the creature's highest Stat.

For example, let's say Aoni were to consume the Energia cell of a massive mammoth; there is a very high likelihood that he would see an increase in his defense stat, a Cheeta, speed, shark, attack, it's all quantitative to the creature's most used Stat.

In the case of Aoni, if a creature were to kill him and take his EC, they'd probably get a boost in Defense since that is what he's abused more than anything else.

Mind you, the higher the Grade of the EC and monster, the more likely it was to get something special like a boost in a being's, Elementalilzation, or something else fortuitous; however, that wasn't something Aoni was even considering because of how low the ones he had on hand were.

"Nyria, can you explain to me what you feel when you see these," reaching into the box and picking up a small grey object resembling a gummy fruit snack, Aoni held it up and showed the EC to her.

However, before he could get an answer, a certain impatient floof extended her face forward and tried snatching it from the Lad's hand, only to get facepalmed in response.

"OI! NO ONE ASKED YOU!" Screeching like a banshee as he juked to the side and avoided a bite from his floof, Aoni bopped her nose, yielding ZERO results.

"Gaooooo~!" *gimmiieee,* A bop on the nose was nowhere near enough to stop her, and after getting a good whiff of what her Lord was holding, a glint flashed through Glacia's eyes as she made up her mind that it would be hers.

"NO! WAIT YOUR TURN,"

"OooOOOoo~," *mine-mine-mine, om nom!*

"Get down, you damn Glutton!"@@novelbin@@

For a solid minute, the comical routine of Aoni playing keep away from the little glutton played out as she climbed all over his upper body trying to snatch the Ec and eat it.

Eventually, things returned to normal, with Aoni out of breath, having defended the box of ECs, and Glacia pouting on the log with a very visible knot forming on her head.

"Chee…" Seeing that her family had calmed down to some extent, Nyria, who had been sitting patiently and watching everything play out, finally spoke up.

'Hungry, it makes me feel hungry, um, like if I eat it, it will be super tasty and make me feel good.'

"It's instinct to be drawn toward ECs as a summons and as monsters; even I feel somewhat of a pull when I look at this thing as if some part of me demands I consume it." Placing the EC back into the special stone box, Aoni looked inside and double-checked that all thirteen Energia Cells were still in the box.

Given how annoying Glacia was acting, he wouldn't be surprised if she had somehow gotten one during their little scuffle, but thankfully, that wasn't the case.

To be fair, the claim to them technically fell on the floof, considering each one of the organs came from one of her kills, but as Aoni examined the oddly shaped objects intently, he couldn't stop the sigh from escaping his mouth.

'I've got six Low Grade-One (☆), two Mid-Grade-One (✬), two High-Grade-One (✫), a single Perfect Grade-One (★), and then there are two Low Grade-Two(★☆).' Apart from the two Grade-Two ECs, which were a faint reddish color, the rest were all varying shades of grey and followed the usual color spectrum of the Flume.

Now, as for how Aoni could tell their exact strength, well, that was entirely the fault of his Attribute, which seemed hungry to convert anything that had abundant Energia into Points.

The first time, he touched one of the little gummy organs, and every time after, he'd get a notification about converting it, along with the item's information.

Still, given the lackluster returns after cashing in one of the Energia Crystals, Aoni was venomously against doing it with something like the ECs, considering they could be used to improve the stats of his summons directly.

Well, to some extent, at least, considering both of them were already at 2-Star. Looking at the lower-grade Energia Cells, he almost wanted to just hold onto them so he could earn some quick cash back on Terra because they would only be a drop in the bucket for Nyria and Glacia if they consumed them.

However, the two 2-Star ECs would no doubt give them some benefits, but the only problem was, without testing them or having some basic knowledge about the monsters Glacia had brought back, Aoni didn't have any clues about what those "benefits" would be in the form of.
