Chapter 139 What…In The Actual F**K?

The Territory Barrier is being reformatted and Altered
DUN DUNN….DUNNN DUNNN, WOOOOOOSHHHHHHHH
In the blink of an eye, all the chaos created when the Barrier came down screeched to a sudden halt as the familiar pressure that Aoni and his Summons had come to recognize fell from the sky, only this time, instead of the usual few feet around the Lad, or even most of the camp, it spread far and wide.
The intense Aura of the Behemoth in the distance was dispersed and replaced, giving him a second to breathe before he was soon smashed into the Rampart and stared helplessly at the sky.
'Br…broth….brother, what's happening?' Nyria's panicked voice came through the LoS, but since Aoni still had yet to fully comprehend how to send his words through it, he responded with feelings and emotion, mainly calming thoughts, like everything would be okay.
Praying that she hadn't been too high up and, as such, forced to the ground like a meteor, Aoni grit his teeth and pushed his body as far as he could until he was sitting up fully, and once he caught sight of what was happening in his territory, the Lad's breath hitched in his chest.
The terrain, once white and covered top to bottom with snow, was now revealed to be rocky in some areas and covered with permafrosted dead grass near the forest.
"Hot…ugh," verbalizing the one thing going through his head, Aoni watched as all the snow disappeared in a hazy mist while the temperature spiked to well over 60, then to 100 degrees in his territory, but that wasn't all, the trees shook as if trembling in fear, and in the distance, he watched the grand behemoth plummet to the ground with a loud BANG.
Although he couldn't see them, Aoni could hear the cries of agony coming from the monster horde as they, too, were subjected to the pressure, causing him to worry immensely about the state of his Summons. Explore more stories at My Virtual Library Empire
Luckily, he remembered that even though the pressure was tough on the body, it had never once hurt him, only strained his muscles and whatnot, so he subconsciously understood neither Glacia nor Nyria would be in any danger.
As for the invaders, that was an entirely different story, and he was subtly wondering if it would kill them all off in a mass extinction event.
While he was immersed in observing his surroundings, Aoni caught a faint glimmer in the sky, albeit barely, because it was focused over his head. However, once he noticed it, he opened and closed his mouth several times in shock.
"What…In the Actual fuck is that?"
High above the rough location of his flume, an orb of Ruby light could be seen, and due to its proximity to the Lad, it wasn't easy to judge the orb's size, at least until it rapidly began expanding.
From the size of a baseball to a city bus to a stadium, the orb expanded and grew until it appeared to be a new DayCelest.

'The hell did it just say?' due to the heat, his mouth was too dry to speak; however, that didn't stop Aoni from reading and thinking about the new notification that appeared.
The now crimson orb in the sky had finished growing, and before the Lad could comprehend what was happening, a terrifying bellow in the distance caused him to look toward the Northern side of the mountain.
Standing ominously on the horizon was an absolutely colossal formless being, and the sight of it alone sent chills down Aoni's spine and caused the hair on his arms and neck to stand at attention.
To make matters worse, this being seemed to be staring directly at him; how he knew, no one knows, but that was the feeling he got before it turned and disappeared into the horizon.
Because of that thing in the distance, Aoni could barely even pay attention as the orb crashed down, covering his entire territory in a massive dome slightly larger than the original Barrier, replacing and reinforcing a new standard.

Comencing purge
'Purge…that can't be a bad thing, right…' Aoni thought while suddenly feeling his body scoot forward without his control.
Centralized on his camp, a powerful gust of wind whipped out in every direction as if a gale storm had spawned randomly, and within seconds, tens of thousands of monsters were swept away and moved beyond the new Barrier.

Without the User's Authorization, no being, living or undead, with a Grade or Equivalent Rating greater than Two-Star Will be allowed within the confines of the Established Territory
Purge Complete: all beings, creatures, monsters, living or undead have been purged from the Barrier; only those who meet the standards will be able to re-enter.

When the last notification faded away, so did the mysterious pressure and, with it, the intense heat, leaving behind a barren mountain completely devoid of snow.
For several seconds, Aoni sat perfectly still, eyes glazed over, covered in sweat, and shivering. Deep down, he was scared shitless at what just happened.
If the notifications, which had never been wrong or lied to him before, could be trusted this time around, then weren't all of his problems…scratch that, a decent chunk of his problems solved?
'All my points and a single passive…' That was when he remembered the cost of what transpired, yet even if he felt a bit of loss from it, Aoni had to admit that he would choose the same thing a million times over, especially since there were plenty of ways to re-earn the Cold Resistance Passive, never mind Progress Points.
"Adaptive Warding Formation…" Blinking several times and trying to gather his thoughts, Aoni noticed that the crimson-colored Barrier had already turned transparent and vanished, just like his original Newbie Barrier. Yet, he knew that it was still there; he could feel it as if it were an extension of himself, just off in the distance.
"I died; there's no way this is real," he said while staring forward with a blank expression, denial having hit him like a 10-ton Truck going a hundred miles an hour.@@novelbin@@
"Yeah, im dead; that's the only explanation as to HOW A NEW FUCKING BARRIER…wait, is this thing permanent."
Yes
"Fuck, you actually responded on the first try…so brand spanking new Barrier, an adaptive one at that, which blocks anything stronger than 2-Stars from coming in…this can't be real."
It's real
"This is impossible though."
Anything is Possible
"Like you giving me straightforward and descriptive answers?" At that last comment, the AN fell silent, making Aoni roll his eyes.
What do you think?
