Chapter 144 Everybody Was Surrrfinnn, Surfin in the Cavern-Yeay?
Resisting the urge to scream as the ground rapidly approached, Aoni pictured a massive vortex surging in front of his palms, drawing a huge amount of Energia from his surroundings and mixing it with his own, and then shooting out from his hands like a dragon's Ice breath.
Whether or not this was pure instinct or some type of adrenaline rush was uncertain. However, the image of an ice slide manifesting in front of him was so solid that he could practically see his vision transposing into reality.
40 feet
30 feet
'TOUCH COME ONNN!' stretching his legs ever so slightly and angling the frost breath coming from his hands up like a propulsion system, Aoni's feet connected with the ice shard.
Feeling the slight friction vibrating his boots, the Lad ignored the fact that he was smack dab in the middle of hundreds of ravenous insects and leaned forward while moving his arms back down till they were at a 45-degree angle, pointed forward, and expelling a Jetstream of Elementalized Ice Energia.
'Wait for it…'
"SKRIEEE SKREEE!"
"BUZZZ BUZZZ SKREEE!"
"KANAKANNA!"
"SHAA SHAAA SHAA!"
"AHHh, SHUT THE FUCK UP ALREADY!!!" Screaming at the annoying noises bombarding his head, he moved his mock-frost breath slowly, forming a curvature and transforming the shard into a massive ramp, before pulling back and…

Twisting his body and bending his knees into a surfer pose, Aoni's left hand stayed extended and expelled a steady stream of frost, which, after being attached to the Ice Shard, hardened into a bridge of sorts, trailing in his wake, as he carefully manipulated his forward momentum with a series of well-timed hills to keep up speed.
Meanwhile, his left hand now bearing 85% of his concentration, Aoni freed up his right hand and drew Austr.
Roughly 10 feet off the ground and riding his ice-bridge like a slide, Aoni got to work. Now that he was in the midst of things, it was more difficult to plot out a course, especially since the Ice slide/bridge he was generating would only be stable for a short time without his direct intervention, but he had a way to mitigate that issue.
So long as he looped around and kept the bridge's body close without too big a gap, making a giant snake, it wasn't impossible to form a circuit in which the amount of Energia he was manipulating would be drawing in from a power source of its own.
One has to remember that practically every surface of the cavern was littered with naturally formed Energia Crystals, and subconsciously, Aoni had tapped into them as a source of power.
His Vortex, having linked up with them, was tethering the whole cavern to his slide, and as such, so long as he snaked it close enough to the body of the formed bridge, it would be sustainable.
And the best part, because of the slick texture, those grabby little six-leg freaks couldn't climb up the structure without sliding back down. Which was good…kind of…
'Tsk, well, they can't climb it, but jumping over doesn't seem to be that much of an issue; I need to make this thing into a singular structure so that I can do laps, HUUUUP,' leaning back and shifting his weight onto his back leg, Aoni slashed the air right as one of the insects lunged at him, slicing its head off with a single strike.

'That was dangerous, okay? I need to figure out how far I can get away from the bridge before it starts collapsing,' creating a big dip in the form of a large slide; Aoni leaned back slightly before shooting up a ramp at speeds of over 70 mph, and catapulting his body upward leaving the safety of his platform, making him soar through the air.
With his feet no longer touching the ground, he rotated and looked back at his achievement so far, only to end up feeling slightly embarrassed because it looked like a poorly constructed roller coaster with no rhyme or reason behind its creation.
From what the Lad could tell, all he'd done was make a mass of squiggles, twists and turns, and subtle ramps for speed before ending in a large ramp as tall as the original ice shard.
It was messy, incoherent, and the complete opposite of his initial well-organized and structured idea. Yet, there was a subtle mystique to it caused by the open pockets of space between the turns and twists, which formed trap points where dozens upon dozens of Insects seemed trapped as the blind creatures bumped into not only each other but the icy walls too.
Mind you, that was only in the areas further away from Aoni because, without any indication of his location, there was no way for them to find his presence.
And the best part had yet to happen.
With complete focus plastered across his face, Aoni allowed his momentum to carry him as high as possible toward the ceiling before reaching out and grabbing onto the closest Stalactite.
Just like that, he'd returned to the ceiling on the total opposite end of the cavern. As erratic and reckless as his plan had been, the first phase was complete; he had the means to travel the cavern unhindered, quickly, and most importantly, had trapped hundreds of the insects before losing them in the air.
'Damn, that was exciting,' feeling exhausted yet excited at the same time, Aoni could feel his arms trembling but ignored the fatigue and observed how the insects were reacting to the new obstacles.
Sure enough, there were a few who seemed a tad bit smarter than their brethren and would jump up over the ice bridge spanning the size of an entire town, but if they didn't land on the bridge, they'd end up in the exact same entrapment as before.
As for the ones who DID land on the icy construct, well, without the ability to get a stable foothold, they would tumble off shortly after landing, so apart from a rare few who made it back to the Cavern walls; basically all of the well over a thousand insects were securely in Aoni's trap.
