Chapter 145 Raining Hell From Above
'Okay, let me think…,' clinging to a 15x8 foot stalactite as if he were some type of koala, Aoni's eyes flicked from one entrapment to another; unfortunately, because of his current vantage point, it was impossible to see around the stone tendril hanging from the cavern ceiling, but that didn't bother him too much, as he already knew there were more than enough littering the entire place, and if push came to shove, he would just move them a bit to adjust their falling trajectory.
'Based on what I can remember, most of them are as big if not a bit smaller than this one,' leaning back for a second and taking in the entirety of the stalactite he was using as a lifeline, Aoni started trying to figure out how many he would actually need to drop.
However, that was when he came to a startling conclusion…he wasn't sure if he could even knock them down in the first place.
Basic logic dictates that a loud noise should be all that's required to drop one of these bad boys at least partially, yet when the Ice Shard crashed into the ground and generated a sound more than loud enough to trigger an avalanche, not a single stalactite dropped.
Not one in the TENS OF THOUSANDS!
'Shit, are these things reinforced or something?' doing something reckless as usual, the Lad decided to rock slightly, taking extra care not to move enough to dislodge the spike. Still, when after a moment, the thing didn't budge in the slightest, Aoni realized he may have made a big mistake.
'FUCK! IT DOESN'T WIGGLE!' he screamed in his mind as his old friend Senior Panic decided to visit.
'Abababa shit shit shit, no no, stop, control yourself, hissss, okay, no big deal; after adding rotation to my Ice Bullets, their penetration power is more than enough to dig into the mountainside, so, in theory, it should still work, UGH, but I can already feel my Energia is close to bottoming out.'

'It's gotta be my height bothering me; I'm normally more level-headed than this, steady Aoni, you need to stay steady, think things through…'
'For now, the situation below is under control, so let me test and see if I can drill through one of these things first; if not…' Not wanting to think about what would happen if he had to run away, Aoni looked over his shoulder and noticed there was a smaller stalactite about three feet behind him.
Gripping his own with both thighs as tightly as possible to keep steady and shifting the weight between his legs and right arm, the Lad reached out toward the nearby stone finger, manifested an Ice Bullet, and carefully pushed the spinning projectile very slowly into the stone.
The last thing he wanted to do was accidentally drop the damn thing early, so having thought it a bad idea to just shoot through it full force, the idea of pushing more than shooting came to mind.
Inch by inch, moving at an excruciatingly slow pace, the bullet pushed forward until it completely vanished from sight into the stalactite, cutting through like a hot knife through butter, causing Aoni to nod his head when he felt it was still there and moving through the rock.
Once satisfied with the result, he then released his grasp on the Energia and allowed the Ice bullet to deconstruct into nothing, leaving behind only a finger-sized hole.
'Well, that proves that; the only problem now is I don't think I can manifest enough bullets to knock down over a hundred stalactites in a short amount of time.'
'As of my last limit test, I can, at most, fire five bullets at a time, and that's being generous, considering I can only accurately control around three of them at once.'
'Still…' Reaching into his inventory, Aoni quickly devoured the last 3 of his remaining fruits, took a deep breath, and started scooting around the stalactite very carefully.
Next, he raised his freed-up left arm, but instead of a finger gun, this time he kept all of his fingers spread out and his palm facing down because each one would have a bullet and started aiming.
'Distance first; if I can make them think that I am over there instead of here, their attention will be drawn away from me, buying a few much-needed seconds for recovery and reconstruction.'
Going through the full manifestation process of what he'd dubbed Volly Shot, five identical ice bullets quickly formed an inch or so away from his fingertips, then began rotating.
'After the first shot, it will take me about 25 to 30 seconds to charge up another batch,' keeping that thought in mind, Aoni closed his eyes and envisioned five jagged lines extending out from his fingers, each one representing where he wanted the bullets to travel, and once he felt it was good enough, his eyes snapped open and with a faint…
Ftooshhh X5
The five bullets were off, traveling on a zig-zagging path that would bring them around obstacles until they reached their goal.
'Shit…did I use too much power?' Right before the five bullets connected with their intended targets, a strange thought popped into Aoni's mind, yet before he had a moment to reconsider his action, the bullets hit their mark, tearing through the stalactites like paper…then continuing through one, two, three, four more stone tendrils bringing down a total of 20 in one go.
The sound they made on contact with the stone was enough to cause the hair on the back of Aoni's neck to stand, as it reminded him of how his homeroom teacher would get students' attention by dragging a ruler against the chalkboard.
With his mouth hanging open, he watched the 20 car-sized stalactites drop, along with how the noise drew the attention of the insects.
"SKRIEEE SKREEE!"
"BUZZZ BUZZZ SKREEE!"
"SKRIEEE SKREEE!"
"BUZZZ SKREEE BUZZZ SKREEE!"
Unfortunately for them, no matter what they did, they couldn't escape, and a few seconds later, multiple explosion-grade noises erupted in the cavern, wiping out a decent chunk of not only the enemy forces but also his Ice Slide in the process.
