Chapter 152 Right This Way, Traveler Thurston (1)
It didn't take much to understand the reasoning behind diminishing stat returns, given the fact that in order to increase them in the first place, it cost Point, so the longer that Aoni mulled on the topic, the more reasonable it seemed.
Point costs aside, the biggest drawback was the fact that he'd have to relive the painful process of increasing his stats if they declined, and that thought alone was more than enough to force his hand.
"Still, the ends justify the means; if I am able to hide the nature of my Attribute and mask my strength, I should be able to fly under the radar. The only problem is…" Clicking his tongue and ending his statement short, Aoni's eyes drifted up to his modified potential
Potential: Five Star/B+ Rank
"Five Star and B+, physically, my strength will have an upper limit beyond anything in my family, and even if I ignore this, the agents in charge of my testing will instantly know that the max items I'll be able to craft are going to be 5-Stars…which could make anyone rich."
As far as he knew, the most common items, such as weapons or armor, were between 1 and 3-Stars, with 4-Stars being slightly uncommon and 5-Stars good enough to start bidding wars online.
Anything higher than 5-Stars would be considered Rare and, as such, carry a hefty price tag.
Keeping that thought in mind, Aoni knew that so long as he wore this façade and used it to his benefit, the likelihood of him receiving some but not a lot of attention was basically confirmed.
And that was only when thinking about the fake Attribute, lest we forget about the modified Rank Potential. Explore stories on My Virtual Library Empire
After all, B-ranked individuals made up a good majority of local celebrities and even mid-ranking officers in the military. To put it in simpler terms, they were what you'd expect to find when it came to a Low-Tier Celebrity or maybe a City Mayor.
A-Ranks would make up most Governors or higher officials in the military, as well as movie stars, and S-Ranks, well…they were at the top of the food chain, at least as far as Aoni knew.
For those in power, his potential wasn't a threat; however, if he was handsome enough or easily manipulated, some of the darker sides of society may reach out and try to take him in.
"Sigh, this is going to get complicated, Oh…I forgot to check my Summons…display, uh…"

"…."
Don't mind that
"…"
"You hid Glacia and Nyria…that's it…after all the work you did on my TD, you only removed my ACTUAL summons from their display." Staring at his AN with dead eyes, Aoni questioned, only to receive a sassy response in return.
User's Flume information was changed too
"FUCK THE FLUME! YOU COULD HAVE MADE ME SEEM LUCKY, BUT NO, YOU MADE ME LOOK LIKE HOT GARBAGE! Shit, you didn't even add the Backpack to the list either!"
A proper example of the User's Falsified Attribute needed to exist; as such, the crafted Backpack was observed to be a suitable scapegoat
"Let me guess. Do you have reason to believe they are going to ignore the fact that I can form pocket dimensions?"
They will; it's not like the User's Crafted Items actually contained perfected Spatial pockets; in fact, all that has been done is a slight tweaking of the physics within the storage device, allowing it to be Bigger inside than outside, nothing more
Decay and outside influence is still exerted on the contents, whereas a true pocket dimension, such as the User's Passive Skill: Pocket Dimension (Inventory), exists outside the rules of space and Time and, thus, will not be affected and put into a state of stasis, wherein, Decay will not affect it
"Even though I am certain you just explained all that, I have no idea what you just said…" It wasn't that Aoni was stupid, but instead that he had no concept of the things being said by his Attribute Notice.
Things like Decay, Time, and space, while theories and aspects of life, were being talked about on a grander scale than he could coherently understand.
To him, Time is just looking at a clock; Decay should be what happens to food if left out too long, and space…well, isn't that what they call beyond the reaches of Terra.
Knowing the words and understanding the meaning behind them were far too different a concept, and thus, no matter how in-depth an explanation he received from the floating text box, it wouldn't really connect the dots.
And the AN wasn't about to bother trying to make him understand, either, especially since the walls of the Flume had already become as translucent as they could.
Arriving in Terra within 2 minutes
Giving one last notice, the AN flashed a few times to draw Aoni's attention before vanishing when he took notice of his surroundings.
"I guess this is it..." Looking out the walls of the Flume and seeing the world flash by, he was able to pick up certain details and familiar landmarks, which gave Aoni a sense of baring, allowing him to find out exactly where he was.
"Damn, I am at least three hours away from home; this should be somewhere to the west of Gailtrom City…that's Layline Sports Arena…" noticing a big domed building, Aoni was amazed to find out how fast he was truly moving within the Flume, and a minute later, he looked ahead only to realize he was about to touch down within his School's Gym.
Shifting his body around and giving himself a good look over, Aoni quickly adjusted his clothing and decided to remove his jacket before storing it inside his Backpack.
Considering it had only been a few days on Terra since he left, the Lad knew it was still summertime, and even if the gym had air conditioning, his jacket would make him miserable within seconds due to how warm it was.
What do you think?
