Chapter 83 *******'S Display
Seeing the Node Stones showing up on his Display was not only expected but a joyous thing because, as Aoni had predicted, they had arrows beside them, meaning UPGRADES WERE POSSIBLE!
Not only did this matter when it comes to getting the most bang for his buck, but it also meant that if he could summon more stones in the future, ones he may not necessarily have a use for, couldn't he just upgrade them and sell each one for a drastic amount of money.
In case it wasn't obvious yet, the way that Aoni deals with depressive thoughts and dark emotions is to, for lack of a better word, distract himself.
By shifting his attention away from the things bothering him and clouding his mind with anything possible, he is able to adapt and continue; now, is it healthy? Probably not, but he has been doing it since he was a child and is accustomed to it.
Fixate on something that ISN'T what is bothering you, and eventually, it won't anymore.
'Money, money, money, wait…' Feeling a small amount of drool dribbling down the corner of his mouth, Aoni suddenly jolted like a cat whose tail was just stepped on because he realized something.
'Hold on a second, Oi, Annoying popup window, I need confirmation here. Will I be able to upgrade items or Nodes I acquire outside of summoning them through my Flume? If I were to purchase a set of Armor, would it be possible for me to upgrade it with my points in the same way I do Vestr and Austr?'
| No, only items, objects, and Summons which are directly created or summoned through the User's Flume are subject to harnessing the power of Progress Points |
'Mother, fucking FUCK! CHEAP ASS STINGY STUPID RULES AHHHH, WHAT HAPPENED TO I BEND EVERYTHING TO MY WILL THROUGH PROGRESS!' Jumping to his feet and shaking an angry fist at the sky, for some strange reason, Aoni screamed mentally before kicking the ground hard enough to not only tear up a small stone but shoot it through the air and then down off the mountain peak.
"Hold up…did you just say CREATED," Lowering his foot, Aoni shifted his body weight and ran across the platform to the north, where all the storage containers were housed, and skidded to a stop in front of the stone box used to store meat.
'By your logic, so long as I crafted it, I can upgrade it. Well, tell me, oh great and wise box of speechless text, how do you suppose I do that if they don't show up in either my Traveler's Display or Summon's Display? Hmmm? HMMMM?' Raising his eyebrows and staring up at the sky, the lad taunted the text box as it floated up to match his line of sight.
…
…
…
Standing there like an idiot making faces at the sky, Aoni waited and waited for some kind of reaction, but no matter what he said, the AN wouldn't respond.
"That's what I thought. Don't go offering up information that's full of empty promis…" Before he could finish his last taunt, something happened that caused Aoni's body to lock in place. A wave of text scrolled down the AN one after another.

'Ababababba, Okay then, I guess that's that…' Blinking several times, the lad looked down at the stone container, then toward the AN, then to his hand, and finally back to the box before smacking his palm down on top of the crudely carved stone box.
'Open my Crafter's Display.'

Standing there with his hand on the chest, Aoni didn't notice a single change in the container's outward appearance; however, between the notifications, along with the Bonus points and the star appearing in his new Display, the lad knew something had happened to the chest upon being upgrade…he just couldn't figure out what.
Swapping over to his TD to check his points, he then learned it had cost 10 points to upgrade the chest, but having earned five back…along with the massive number of points he'd earned over the last five days, 761 before the reduction and bonus, he went ahead and maxed out the first star without worrying about the cost.

Unfortunately, by the time it reached the Full-Star step, and he had only earned back 15 points, Aoni couldn't help but stare strangely at the stone box.
Sure, it had the same sparkling effect as the Flume or even his weapons, but…there was still no physical change to the object. It still looked just as roughly carved as the moment he called it complete and moved it to the northern side of the platform.
Feeling like something was off because there was no way his Attribute would eat up points without results, Aoni reached toward the recessed area on the lid, which formed a handle, and with an upward motion, lifted the stone block, which could be considered its lid, then looked into the box…only to be surprised beyond belief.
Instead of the small Space nearly packed with meat to the point that he was afraid it would burst apart, it was as if he were looking down a hole in a pit.
"Spatial pocket? No way that's impossible; open my Crafter's Display."
