Chapter 1005: Chapter 1004: Jealousy
Shen Hui chuckled, “That’s really unkind, trying to trick your second brother again.”
“I don’t touch decent women, but that little star named Sun Xiaoqian is more interesting.” Shen Hui had just gotten Sun Xiaoqian’s contact information, and the two had a joyful chat, sharing some common hobbies.
After Song Jie stepped down from the stage, he lifted his glass in Song Jie’s direction and made a congratulatory gesture.
“Alright, I’m off.” Shen Hui said, then left.
Shen Yue watched him leave, frustrated.
Her second brother had always done whatever he wanted, leading a reckless life—what outrageous thing hadn’t he done?
It had once angered their father so much that he wanted to sever father-son ties.
“Miss Gu, have your manager come to the company tomorrow to sign the contract. There are some details to be discussed later, I hope for a pleasant collaboration,” said Song Jie to Gu Huanhuan after they stepped down from the stage.
“Okay, thank you, Mr. Song, and may our collaboration be a pleasure,” Gu Huanhuan replied with a smile, feeling rewarded for her recent efforts.
“You are too modest, you were selected because you are outstanding. Your emergence is an anticipated outcome,” Song Jie said, his eyes always gentle and smiling as he looked at Gu Huanhuan.
“You flatter me; I can’t help but feel proud now,” Gu Huanhuan admitted, feeling a bit embarrassed by his words.
The two of them chatted and laughed; Shen Yue watched from aside, her face cold. If looks could kill, Gu Huanhuan would have been riddled with holes.
When Song Ying returned to the scene, seeing what was happening, she pursed her lips and chuckled mischievously, “Ah, this is getting interesting.”
After pondering for a moment, she walked up to Shen Yue, “What are you so engrossed in watching?”
Shen Yue jumped, startled because she was too absorbed. She turned her head, then smiled awkwardly, trying to cover up her gaffe, “Nothing much; your brother is really impressive, this party is a great success.”
Shen Yue felt a sense of pride, after all, it was her man; she enjoyed receiving envious glances from others, especially women.
“Of course, why don’t you ask my brother for the opening dance?” Song Ying egged on, wanting to see Shen Yue embarrassed and to fuel her resentment towards Gu Huanhuan, which was her ultimate goal.
She could tell her brother looked at Gu Huanhuan with a fondness.
“Sure, I haven’t danced in a while, I’m a bit rusty,” Shen Yue chuckled.
Suddenly, Song Ying’s expression turned awkward and flustered, puzzling Shen Yue; following Song Ying’s gaze, her heart tore.
She felt as if she’d been in a freezer, chilled to the bone.
Her eyes landed on Song Jie, who was halfway bent in an inviting posture, while lovely light music played in the venue.
One look, and it was apparent he was inviting Gu Huanhuan to dance. @@novelbin@@
“Cousin-in-law, don’t think too much, men always enjoy a bit of show; it’s enough that he has you in his heart,” Song Ying was the first to explain.
“Yes, I know, it’s fine, I’m not one of those petty people,” Shen Yue explained, but her tone was slightly sour.
“It’s really good that you think that way; after all, Gu Huanhuan is the spokesperson for Song’s, it’s normal for them to dance together,” Song Ying seemed to add fuel to the fire.
Shen Yue stared in their direction, feeling her anger burning even fiercer.
What do you think?
