After disembarking from the plane, Qin Qin hailed a taxi and had the driver take her to a hotel closest to Luoyun Mountain to check in.

There was a hotel called Luoyun Hotel several kilometers from Luoyun Mountain. After paying the taxi driver, Qin Qin walked directly into the hotel and got herself a room.

She rested for half an hour and then went straight to the third floor of the Luoyun Hotel to dine.

Qin Qin chose a seat by the window, ordered some food at random, and began to eat slowly.

Not far from Qin Qin was a group of six tall and handsome young men. One of them, in his early twenties with a beautiful face, sported a pair of phoenix eyes shaped like crescent moons under his thick black hair. With thin lips lightly pursed and an upright sitting position, he exuded a sense of integrity, yet amidst this integrity, there was a hint of sentimentality. Since this table of men had entered the restaurant, they had attracted the stares of countless women. Only Qin Qin did not even glance in their direction, her head bowed earnestly as she focused on her meal.

“Haha, Captain, where you are, those women won’t even notice our existence. It looks like from now on you’d better not hang out with us too much,” said one of the rugged-looking men in a gruff voice.

“Yeah, Captain, Ah Ji is right. You really shouldn’t stick around us from now on. Otherwise, a lot of girls won’t even look our way. You’re the main culprit disrupting our romantic prospects,” another man with fairer looks chimed in.

The other three laughed softly in agreement, not daring to speak out. They knew their Captain might be the youngest among them, but he was the strongest in combat. Offending him meant sparring and then getting beaten. Knowing this, why did these two always seem to enjoy provoking the Captain?

The Captain that the five men talked about lifted his head, and his phoenix eyes gleamed with a smile that somehow managed to be thrilling. “Well said. How about you guys go on this mission by yourselves? Since you find me an eyesore, I’ll just stay at the hotel and wait for your return.”

The man’s voice was clear with an undertone of depth, playful despite its seriousness, and utterly captivating, causing countless women nearby to be star-struck.

“No way!” “No!”

“Come on, can you stop messing around? Aren’t you tired of this every time?” The man who spoke was the oldest of the six and the only one who was married, named Sun Xiyang.

Seeing Ah Ji and Ah Xing, the delicate-looking man who had just spoken, silently close their mouths, Sun Xiyang smirked and nudged his chin toward the place by the window on his right. “Haven’t you guys noticed something odd?”

“What’s odd?” Ah Xing was the youngest of the group and always looking for excitement. Upon hearing Sun Xiyang say this, he hurriedly asked.

“That girl, oh no, I should say young lady, has not looked at our Captain even once since she entered the restaurant.” It was known that wherever Captain went, women would invariably turn to look at him, yet now, this very young girl seemed not to spare a glance in his direction.

Ah Xing looked over and indeed found it to be true, “Yeah, that girl really hasn’t looked at the Captain once! Captain, at last, there’s a girl who ignores your charm!”

All five men glanced in Qin Qin’s direction, and Captain Jiang Qingtian put down his cutlery elegantly, wiped his mouth, and looked toward Qin Qin.

She sat leisurely by the window, her posture exuding nobility tinged with grace. Half of her face was reflected on the window, the soft sunlight kissing her fair and pristine cheek, which seemed flawless and beautiful. She looked as though she was shrouded in a hazy and opaque beauty.

In his eyes, the girl was not the most beautiful he had ever seen, but she had the best temperament; she surpassed even the top socialites of the capital. She was like a lotus flower emerging unsullied from the mud, her presence faintly exuding Celestial Energy, involuntarily drawing people in, yet they feared disturbing her.

“This girl is so beautiful,” Ah Xing suddenly exclaimed with a sense of wonder. The beauty he spoke of was not about looks, but a feeling.

The others nodded in agreement, surprised that on their first day in Ning City, they had encountered such a top-tier girl.

“I really want to know her phone number!” Ah Xing stood up and headed straight towards Qin Qin, never expecting that before he even reached her, Qin Qin had already gotten up and passed by him without a second glance.

How could Qin Qin not be aware of those men looking at her? She simply didn’t think she needed to pay them any attention.

As she walked by their seats, Qin Qin paused for a moment. Her gaze swept over the man whom the others called the captain, but after a few seconds, she withdrew her look. In her eyes flickered a hint of confusion—she couldn’t see through this man. What was going on? Her eyes had never failed like this before. She had intended to use her ghost eyes to glimpse the man but found she couldn’t see any image at all. Could there be something wrong with her eyes? She looked again at the other people in the restaurant and saw that she could still visualize their images.

She had only encountered this situation with herself; when she first acquired these eyes, she discovered that she could not see her own past or future. She could see everything about herself only in other people’s visions, though the information was minimal. Since she could not find a reason, she had to let it be. This man was the second one she couldn’t see through.

These ghost eyes were indeed bizarre and peculiar! There were even times when they malfunctioned.

By the time Qin Qin left the restaurant, the atmosphere inside among the two men was abuzz.

“Captain, she actually ignored me!” Ah Xing said, somewhat disappointed as he returned to his seat.

“Captain, she actually looked at you. I knew you had unparalleled charm,” Ah Ji said happily, patting Jiang Qingtian’s shoulder.

“Pfft, are you a pig? Did you not see that there was no adoration for the captain in the girl’s eyes?” Someone else might not have seen clearly, but he did. The girl’s glance had only lasted a few seconds, and those indifferent eyes held nothing but confusion. It was just unclear what she was puzzled about.

“What? No way!”

Jiang Qingtian paid no attention to the others’ conversation, his thin lips curving slightly, and a deep voice slowly spoke, “Interesting!”

“Let’s go. After we eat, it’s time for the mission. We must succeed; failure is not an option!”

“Yes!”

“Yes!”

Loud voices resounded in the restaurant, and soon, six upright men emerged from the Luoyun Hotel, ready to head out to Luoyun Mountain for their mission. Little did they know, the girl they had just been discussing had also set off toward Luoyun Mountain.
