Chapter 745
Cradled in Lunebia’s arms, I arrived atop the cliff, using divine energy to banish the chill and surveyed the surroundings.
The snow, lightly piled, was so white that there were no traces of human footsteps.
The towering mountain, piercing through the clouds, exuded a mysterious atmosphere, as if an unknown life resided there.
I knew that this wasn’t the path leading to the Garden of the Gods, so I didn’t give it much thought.
If someone unaware had arrived here, they would likely have red eyes and be looking around in confusion.
<If I had known about this place, I would have come to see it much earlier.>
"Not much here."
But Frey was the exception. Being infinitely far from the ordinary, she remained indifferent even after seeing a world that touched the clouds.
Every time I saw that, I felt a rising sense of unease.
After all this trouble, what if I showed her the night sky and she had no reaction? I’d probably shed a tear.
"Astrika-nim. Is there something strange?"
Sighing as I let my worst thoughts take hold, I turned my head at Lunebia’s words.
"Me? What about me?"
"You, being the guardian of this place, must have been here before."
Astrika, in the form of an owl, turned her head 180 degrees, scanning the surroundings, then voiced her suspicion.
"The snow has shrunk."
"Could you explain further?"@@novelbin@@
What do you think?
