Mind Demon's Path of Domination

Chapter 254 Loosening the Bind to find oneself in another one

Mark's fangs bit into the pieces of armor as if they were biscuits. He felt a rush of calmness as he ate it, his body hidden in dust. At the same time, he also contemplated his current circumstance.

Both his main body and his Puppet were in trouble.

His main body was being attacked by a barrage of suicidal enemies who seemed virtually limitless in number, the more he killed, the more they came.

At the same time, the resentment of every creature he had killed in his life so far was also screaming at him due to the after effects of killing someone with the ability Star Fever.

And the more people he killed, the stronger the resentment got.

The hatred of people who were murdered before they could reach their potential.

The hatred of ungrasped possibilities.

Hatred for what could have been!

This hatred and resentment not only made Mark himself blank out, it also made his Puppet Ryan feel like shit.

As for the Puppet itself, it was dying of hunger and thirst in a place where danger was everywhere!

It planned to meet the demons there!

Indeed, some forces were truly undecipherable like this. His luck was at an all time low, and the River of Destiny had put him in a place of crisis. Now, how can he get out of the situation?

Mark felt the Mask of Savage covering his face expand. It felt as if some sort of membrane was gently covering him, and in that sense of protection, he felt truly safe for a moment.

The dust around him vanished.

There was no Mark around anymore, but instead, what stood there was an ancient armor. It stood, half-kneeling, as it looked at its own hands drenched in blood of the denizens.

Yes, I have killed so much, Mark thought. Did he regret a single kill, though?

No.

Did he regret that he was going to kill more?

No.

Why?

Because even if he didn't kill them, they would die anyway?

Did it matter?

Mark smiled.

Let's kill more. Let's kill better, and more efficiently. Each kill must be done in a way that it must help me make the next kill.

He decided to kill. Like a dancer dances, like a doctor treats, like an artist makes art---if he was going to kill anyway, he should kill more elegantly. He should kill seriously.

Thus, before the flying ships around could even fully capture the winged demon in wicked armor, he vanished.

A pilot looked around in the detector in front of him where a red dot was moving through a green radar. It was so fast, the pilot blanked out for a moment.

"Oh, the dot is slower than me," a voice said into its ears. "But you Star Monkeys do have amazing tech. Yuri would have had a blast if you guys weren't such annoying flies."

The Star Monkey became motionless.

Mark smiled.

He had killed a lot of Savages in his time, and the ability Costume of the Murdered allowed him to use the abilities of people he murdered. Though 1 victim's ability could only be used for once, it was still an amazing ability.

Costume of the Murdered was not a bit inferior to the likes of Alchemic Shapeshifting.

And since he had killed a lot of Savages, it also meant he could use the abilities of the said Savages---the Savage Magic. Which included the ability Aura Teleportation. The ability to teleport anywhere with his aura around.

"This radar looks for my aura to detect me?" Mark asked, putting a hand on the Star Monkey's shoulder. "Hm, indeed, technology fused with the mystic is quite scary."

But that also brought his aura here, making it easy for him to teleport.

A sniper focused from god knows where and a piercing bullet pierced through a window to hit Mark's head before he could react.

Tannnng!!

His head tilted slightly and the bullet was diverted towards the Flying Ship's walls. The entire wall was blasted apart, but Mark remained unharmed.

The Armor of the Savage only had two abilities that the Mask of the Savage didn't.

Passive Defence and Active Defense.

For the Passive Defence ability, the Armor would protect Mark from all attacks below Tier 3 passively; those abilities just couldn't hurt him anymore. Even if the Armor is inactive and hidden within Mark's body, it would act similar to Defensive Magic Aura, but unlike Defensive Magic aura, its Passive Defence cannot be broken.

He needn't worry about any kind of attack from Tier 1 or 2 creatures anymore even if his Defensive Magic Aura is broken. And when he himself evolves, so would the Armor's protection capability.

Since he was a Tier 2 creature, Tier 2 abilities became moot against him.

When he becomes a Tier 3 creature, Tier 3 abilities would become moot against him.

The Armor was incredibly powerful, to the point Mark felt invincible. But he immediately thought otherwise, the Armor only made him invincible only against normal people, not Mavericks. Those people were weird as fuck, and could fight above their ranks.

Nodding to himself, Mark pressed his hand against the Star Monkey's shoulder. It turned into ash, falling onto the deck silently as Mark turned to look towards the sniper.

He vanished in a teleportation.

Alchemic Shapeshifting was a deadly thing, and apparently, the Armor was a good conductor for the ability. He had turned the monkey into ash after all.

Mark was worried that his most deadly ability wouldn't work when his hand was obstructed by the thin, dark, and metallic armor. It almost felt like a second skin, but what if the Alchemic Shapeshifting destroyed the armor instead of what the armored hand is touching?

Thankfully, that was needless worry. Enjoy exclusive content from My Virtual Library Empire

Drinking some Gold Blood to recover his stamina, Mark began his slaughter.

The Passive Defence alone made all the Star Monkeys and their tricks completely useless against him, and when he turns on Active Defense, he could even defend against a Tier 3 Low-level attack once before the Armor would go back passive.

But soon, the smile vanished from Mark's face.

Indeed, he had grown significantly stronger in a short span of time---he had stolen the ability, Costume of the Murdered, and he had also evolved Mask of the Savage to Armor of the Savage. His combat prowess now was beyond belief for the him of some days ago.

With Costume of the Murdered, he was incredibly versatile!

Attack, defence, offense, movement, and even support!@@novelbin@@

The enemies he had murdered in his life had abilities to help him in all sorts of situations. Movement? He could use Aura Teleportation from one of the Savages he killed. Offense? Alchemic Shapeshifting. Defense?

Glass Dome or he could even use the ability of Hanmo, the Ice A-rank Hunter he killed long ago.

All bases of his battle performance was covered with that single ability.

He had become a killing machine.

But that was when it comes to Tier 2 creatures.

But starting now, this world was a Tier 3 World.

Mark gritted his teeth.

A flying ship moved towards him slowly and Mark flapped his wings as he stared at the man at the front.

The man was a cyborg monkey, and he was Tier 3.

"You know what, Demon?" The man said. "Our commander is undefeatable. His Infinite Army, unending. No matter how many you kill, more would come. And his army has just evolved to Tier 3 due to your help. So, from now on, we will see how far you can last."

A huge array of ships started covering Mark once again, but this time, there was a Tier 3 creature in all of them.

These people were weak in comparison to Demons of the same Tier, but not by too much. Mark felt a deep sensation of crisis.

1, 2, 3, he counted, 27 ships in the horizon, 27 Tier 3 creatures. All of them has Esper-type abilities, and are very good at working together. If they surround me, I am dead.

He ran away, but since he was being tracked, there was no running.

And even as he ran, the enemy was gaining more Tier 3 fighting power.

After just 3 days of constant running without sleep, rest or anything good, Mark sensed more of the Tier 3 enemies. It went from 27 to 33 in just three days!

"The world is helping your enemy," Reol'ran said, her tone filled with worry.

While he was going through such crisis, his arch-nemesis, the man who would come to kill him when the Suffering begins, must be going through the exact opposite.

One was suffering in misfortune, while the other must be enjoying in fortune of strength. That enemy must be growing stronger too, and he would be the exact person meant and made to kill the Demon called Mark.

And anything that is against Mark right now, will be blessed by the world. Just as the Star Monkeys are being blessed so unreasonably.

The world wanted the demon dead. And Mark wanted to stay alive.
