Even if a TV drama becomes a global sensation, the actors in it might not have high fame worldwide; they’re more famous in their home countries and don’t attract global attention.
Pop stars and sports stars are somewhat similar.
The top pop and sports stars have global influence but are limited by language barriers.
Western music can never become the mainstream in China.

A Chinese pop idol’s songs will not be hits in the United States.
For instance, a Chinese pop star holding a concert in the States is basically singing for a Chinese audience, very few Westerners would attend.
