Chapter 728: Success

Chapter 728: Chapter 728: Success

Without hesitation, Li Yao turned around and adjusted his angle slightly as he let go of his fingers.

The arrow flew straight for seven hundred yards before disappearing in thin air.

Everyone froze; many even looked amused and smug, assuming his arrow would miss its mark.

However, before they could even begin to jeer, the teleporting demon, who had been roaring at Li Yao, vanished suddenly and reappeared three hundred yards away.

The teleporting demon and the disappearing arrow appeared simultaneously. Naturally, the demon did not have time to react at all.

Another ten arrows fell in succession on the teleporting demon’s head, hitting almost exactly the same spot as before.

...

The teleporting demon barely regained its footing after teleporting, but the barrage of arrows and the accompanying explosions bowled it over once again.

The spectators watching the match nearly popped their eyeballs out, all coming to a shared realization: he had actually hit the mark.

“Fuck, is this guy even human?”

“Was that just luck?”

Cries of disbelief echoed from the crowd.

Li Yao maintained absolute focus, not bothering to check the outcome after he let go of the arrow. He instantly resumed his rapid trot while gathering strength for his next attack.

Upon finishing drawing strength, he turned around swiftly.

When Li Yao turned around, a multitude of data flooded his visual field, most of which were changing rapidly.

Factors such as his actual distance from the teleporting demon were included in the data he had. The bead, the Eye of the Creator, even provided a detailed status report on the demon’s body and strength distribution. No matter how far, no detail could escape Li Yao’s gaze under the scan of the Eye of the Creator.

Not long ago, while pretending to enjoy the show, Li Yao had in fact simulated the teleportation demon’s performance countless times in his mind.

Because of the Eye of the Creator, the data he obtained was even more concise and complete, which made his mental simulations much easier.

Slightly exaggeratedly saying, if Li Yao was given a day, he could simulate a whole day’s worth of the demon’s activities based on its movement data.

While the time was short and the data were less comprehensive, it was easy for him to judge the distance of the demon’s teleportation based on the state of various parts of the demon’s body.

Like now, the teleporting demon’s power value just dropped by 1258 as soon as it tried to stand up. Li Yao could immediately deduce the demon’s teleportation range based on this data.

“285 yards.”

A faint smile formed on Li Yao’s face as he lifted his bow and arrow; no one noticed.

Thump…

Exactly like before, as soon as the arrow disappeared, the demon teleported again, reappearing at the exact same spot.

Boom, boom, boom…

The same ten consecutive, incredibly intense explosions occurred. The demon was once again blown to the ground while Li Yao persisted in his course.

A dead silence fell over the crowd. They were at a loss for words, unable to verbally express their current emotions.

Was it luck the first time? The second time? Could it be luck the third time? If all these coincidences were due to luck, then there was no need to question Li Yao’s abilities anymore. Luck was also part of one’s strength.

“Scary, during the first two times, the boss demon teleported to his limit. But the third time, he fell short.”

“Yes, it seems to have fallen about ten to twenty yards short. It’s impossible to tell exactly. If he could manage this kind of precision, it wouldn’t be luck; it must be calculated.”

The crowd fell into silence again, each struggling to put their feelings into words.

“From such a distance, calculating the trajectory of a projectile, do you not need to aim?”

The crowd gasped. They noticed that after turning around, Li Yao did not aim at all before he let go of the string.

Frightening!

This thought leapt up in everyone’s mind.

“What do you think?” Edward asked with a complex expression.

“I can’t even come close.” sighed a player behind her, with face concealed.

“Even you say so! Sigh, where did this guy come from?” Edward rubbed her temples.

The paladin paled, no longer having the heart to speak. The others were pretty much in the same state, especially those who had confronted the teleportation demon. They knew too well how terrifying it was.

But now, under Li Yao’s arrows, all it could do was take a beating.

“It seems this is the demon in its complete state. It can teleport every three to four seconds. This boss is too elusive,” the player with the masked face said. “And you know, the teleportation demon seems to have realized Prairie Fire’s power. It now changes the teleportation distance each time, though I have no idea how Prairie Fire could predict it. Also, there were a couple of times it did not teleport, or it retreated, but it still couldn’t dodge the arrows. It was like it ran into the arrows itself. I’ve never heard of someone who could use a bow and arrow as successfully as that.”

“Yes, I’ve never heard of it either.” sighed Edward. She had been following Li Yao’s progress for a long time, but the more she learned, the less she understood.

If it were just Li Yao alone, he could still kite and solo this boss in principle. But it wouldn’t be as easy as now, and he certainly wouldn’t be able to hit the same spot with 100% accuracy.

However, ever since the Eye of the Creator evolved, such detailed data, along with his unparalleled spirit power, made it all possible.

Otherwise, all one could see was Li Yao constantly running around looking for opportunities to fire arrows. It would be a slow and inefficient method.

Just as the player with the face mask suggested, the teleportation demon was not just mindlessly pursuing Li Yao, but was changing strategies when it realized it could not reach him.

It even tried running on its two legs, took an S-shaped route, and changed its teleportation distance continuously.

It even turned and tried to flee, but it was as if Li Yao knew exactly what it was going to do.

Like a shadow, Li Yao was always with the demon, maintaining a distance between five hundred to nine hundred yards. The teleporting demon couldn’t catch him, nor could it get away.

The demon’s health decreased slowly, but it had no opportunity to recover by bloodsucking.

The two of them had now run far away from the center of the battlefield. There were no players and no demons around. Even if the teleporting demon wanted to kill minions for health recovery, it couldn’t, and those who had grievances against Li Yao had no way to interfere.

All they could do was keep watching the visual feed.

The teleporting demon had more than a million hit points, and each arrow Li Yao fired could deal about 500 damage.

Although it was not much hence the demon’s natural health regeneration would offset some of the damage, the demon’s health was steadily decreasing nonetheless.

Towards the end, the malicious spark was gone from the teleporting demon’s eyes, replaced by terror and resentment.

When it was down to a fifth of its health, the teleporting demon began to flee in desperation.

But without its usual pattern, the disoriented demon became even less of a threat to Li Yao, thus hastening its own death.

In the end, the hour-long battle came to a close with the painful shrieks of the teleporting demon.

And the players, even after all this time, still watched as if in a dream…
