Chapter 182 - 182 182 Hold Me Tight (1)_1
Chapter 182: 182, Hold Me Tight (1)_1 Chapter 182: 182, Hold Me Tight (1)_1 “Let her go, I can give you a substantial amount of money and let you walk away, but if you are looking for a death wish, then go ahead.” Jian Qing said calmly.
The man, tense as a taut string in the moment, eyed Jian Qing suspiciously, “How do I know you’re telling the truth? If I release her, wouldn’t I be at your mercy?”
Though he may be uneducated, he wasn’t stupid. Without a hostage, he was left with a single, deadly recourse.
Jian Qing bided her time, smirking coldly, “Do you have any other option right now? Do you suppose you have any room to negotiate with me?”
“You, you wouldn’t dare let me kill her?” The man threatened.
Jian Qing stood with her arms crossed, laughing scornfully, “Well, why don’t you try it?”
Seemingly enraged by Jian Qing, the man stumbled backwards, glowering at her, and cruelly sneered, “Then watch as she dies.”
With that, he lowered his dagger, pushing Rhee out.
Behind him was the edge of the hilltop. A fall from here would either kill or maim her.
“Ah!” Witnessing this scene, Madam Quan paled and collapsed onto Quan Yifei.
Rhee paled, hands flailing in the air. Just as she closed her eyes, expecting her imminent death, a cool hand grabbed her wrist.
Rhee opened her eyes to see that it was Jian Qing who was holding her.
“Auntie, hold on tight, don’t let go!”
The determination in her eyes offered Rhee a small sigh of relief.
“Ha-ha-ha, little beauty, aren’t you capable? Come and kill me then!” The man said, mockingly, watching Jian Qing holding a tree trunk with one hand and Rhee with the other.
“Now, it’s my turn to hurt you.”
With that, he advanced towards Jian Qing, a salacious grin on his face.
Quan Yifei, fretful, carefully helped Madam Quan to lie down on the bench in the pavilion.
“Xirou, could you help me take care of grandma.”
“Jian Qing, don’t worry about me,” Rhee, seeing the man getting closer, hinted at urgency in her purple eyes.
Jian Qing remained impassive, coolly saying, “Auntie, hold on tight.”
With that, she pulled up Rhee.
“Huff—” Rhee planted her hands on the ground, taking a deep breath with a hint of fear lingering in her eyes.
“Second Aunt!” Quan Yifei ran over to her, “Are you okay?”
“I am fine.”
“You, you…” The man turned pale, staring at Jian Qing unbelievingly. He couldn’t comprehend how such a frail-looking woman could single-handedly pull someone up.
What kind of monstrosity was she?
Jian Qing looked at him, a revolt of numbness swirling in her eyes, “What, weren’t you pretty pleased with yourself just now?”
“I…” The man gulped, slightly taken aback. Thinking of the dagger in his hand, he decided to make a desperate attempt.
If he didn’t act now, he feared he would have no chance to escape.
“Ah, I’ll take you down with me!”
The sharp dagger was lifted and swung towards Jian Qing. She smirked coldly, pushed herself up with a single hand, flipped in the air, and kicked the dagger from his hand.
She steadied herself and snatched the dagger from the ground.
“Hiss—”
The man felt so much pain in his wrist that he couldn’t raise it. In the blink of an eye, a sharp momentum approach him, before a chilling glint from a dagger pierced into his shoulder.
“Ah —”
A shrill scream rang out, the man’s eyes flashed with murderous intent as he stared at the hand holding the dagger. His vision shifted upwards connecting with a pair of ice-cold eyes.
The frosty look chilled him to the bone, leaving him gasping for breath as if someone was strangling him.
Both Quan Yifei and Rhee were rooted in place, staring at the slim silhouette of Jian Qing. This unfamiliar side of Jian Qing simultaneously stirred fear and compassion in them.
Jian Qing pulled out the dagger, a gush of blood sprayed onto her. She kicked the man onto the ground, knocking him completely out.
“Cough, cough, cough—” The man coughed violently, clutching his stomach as his face turned red.
“Ha!” Jian Qing stepped forward, raised her foot and kicked him again. Her narrowed eyes blazed with ruthlessness, one kick followed another, each with brutal force.
She gave him a choice, but it was he who declined. He couldn’t blame her for what happened next. After all, had she been the one at a disadvantage, there was no need to guess what might have happened to her.
If it was only about her, she may have let it slide, but his decision to push Xiaojing’s mother was inexcusable. Even if she killed him for it, it wouldn’t be too much.
With that thought, she raised her foot and brutally kicked him again.
“Who do you think gave you the nerve to push someone down, huh?” As her words subsided, another kick followed.
“I was wrong, cough, cough — please, spare me. I, I was wrong …”
“Too late!” Jian Qing smirked, dripping with coldness. Her movements were leisurely, but carried a heavy weight, tossing the man around like a ragdoll.
“Jian Qing!” Rhee called out softly, although she knew that even if she killed the man, Jian Qing wouldn’t be held accountable because of Jingwu’s presence. Nevertheless, causing a death there would still be somewhat troublesome.
“Jian Qing, stop it, let’s hand him over to the police.” Quan Yifei pleaded. A scumbag like him deserved the punishment of rotting in a dark jail cell.
Hearing the two women’s pleas, Jian Qing finally stopped. Her deep and clear eyes, cold as the abyss, stared at the barely breathing man on the ground.
“Beg…you… let-me go.” The man wheezed.
She knelt down, her bloody dagger still in hand. She spoke with a frosty voice, “I remember it was this hand that pushed her.”
Hence, he must pay the price!
As soon as the words fell, the blood-dripping dagger was raised and plunged fiercely into the man’s arm. The sound of the knife piercing the flesh made one shudder.
“Ah-”
The man’s pupils dilated, his face damp with sweat and twisted with fear.
Quan Yifei unknowingly closed her eyes, not daring to watch.
Jian Qing calmly pulled out the dagger, leaving the man completely unconscious. She discarded the knife, her body now stained with blood, something the neat freak in her could scarcely stand.
From a pavilion not far off, Song Xirou silently watched the scene. Mixed emotions filled her heart. It seemed that Jian Qing was going to be much more difficult to deal with than she had anticipated.
Jian Qing turned around and gave Rhee a quick once-over. Seeing that she was alright, Jian Qing finally sighed in relief.
“Jian Qing, are you okay?” Rhee asked.
Jian Qing shook her head, “I’m fine.”
With everything settled here, Quan Yifei suddenly remembered that Madam Quan was still unconscious, and hurriedly ran over to the pavilion.
“Grandma, grandma—” Quan Yifei propped up Madam Quan, pressing on her acupoint.
“Rhee!” Madam Quan gradually regained consciousness, her first words were for Rhee.
Rhee held Madam Quan’s hand gently, consoling her, “Mom, I am fine. You don’t need to worry.”
What do you think?
