Chapter 181: 181. Let Her Go and I’ll Spare Your Life (3)_1 Chapter 181: 181. Let Her Go and I’ll Spare Your Life (3)_1 The advancing footsteps of the other three men abruptly halted, their surprised expressions indicating they hadn’t anticipated such a turn of events. They exchanged glances, none daring to rush forward.
“Who the hell are you?” the man who had just been on top of a woman shouted forcefully.
Jian Qing’s eyes glittered with a biting cold light, a thin smile playing on her lips, “The one who’s come for your lives.”
“We should attack together. I don’t believe the three of us cannot handle a single woman,” one of the men spat, enraged and humiliated.
The other two nodded and charged at Jian together with him.
“Ha!” Jian Qing swiftly dodged their advances, snatching up a stone about the size of two fists from the ground, and casually flung it straight towards one man’s forehead.
A direct hit to the head and the man’s forehead instantaneously bloomed blood, his head spinning and body reeling helplessly. Seconds later, he softened and collapsed.
“Old second!”
Seeing Jian Qing’s fierce actions, the remaining men were filled with trepidation. It appeared they had met their match this time.
Quan Yifei watched Jian Qing, her heart filled with both excitement and satisfaction. She wished she could help.
How awesome! She finally saw Jian Qing in action with her own eyes.
Just like her idol!
Utterly cool!
Rhee and Lady Quan, who had been worried for Jian Qing, breathed sighs of relief upon seeing her unscathed. However, their hearts clenched again at the sight of the remaining two men.
Jian Qing held up a bloodstained stone and at this moment, she seemed like a rakshasa from Shura, inducing fear in those who looked upon her.
“Old third, what should we do now?” The slimmer man flashed a glimpse of terror in his eyes, looking to his companion for a plan.
The one called “Old third,” bulkier in build, glanced nervously at Jian Qing, poised to strike at any moment, and felt his courage dwindle.
“I…I don’t know what to do,” he stammered. Typically, the leader—’Old big’—was the decision-maker among the four of them. He had never encountered such a situation and had no idea what to do.
Furthermore, while looking at the lavish clothing on the women, it was clear that they came from riches. If they let them go, there was no telling if the four of them would end up behind bars.
“Or should I tell you what you should do!” A bone-chilling voice echoed in the ears of the two men as if resonating from the depths of an abyss.
Before they could collect themselves, the slender man looked up to see a large stone rushing towards him. By the time he tried to evade it, it was too late.
“Blood…Old third…blood….” A warm liquid trickled down from his forehead. As he wiped it away, he realized he was bleeding, and suddenly, he saw stars.
“Thud–”
“Hey, wake up, Old Fourth!” Watching another one of his comrades fall, the last man was thrown into panic.
The crunching sound of feet on fallen leaves rang out as Jian Qing approached. The man watched in alarm, completely at a loss of what to do.
“Don’t…Don’t come any closer!”
The man abruptly stood and pulled out a dagger from his waistband. The sharp blade glinted chillingly under the sunlight, sending shivers down the spine.
“Jian Qing, be careful!”
Quan Yifei’s smile disappeared the moment she saw the dagger. She nervously twisted her hands together.
“What…what should we do now?” Although the Quan family was a military aristocracy, Lady Quan had seldom seen such a scene and her face was filled with anxiety.
If they had known this was going to happen, they would have asked the driver to accompany them.
Jian Qing glanced at the nervously handled dagger and smirked, “Ha, do you really think you can take me down with that dagger?”
“Even if I die, I will make sure to take you down with me. I…I will fight with you!” The man tightened his grip on the dagger and lunged at Jian Qing.
She stood her ground, calm, and composed. Her gaze turned colder and she scoffed.
With a cold laugh, she made her move. Her five fingers decisively held the man’s wrist and with a twist, the sound of shattering bones echoed.
“Ahh–”
The man’s eyes rolled to the back of his head as his dagger clattered to the ground. Jian Qing then swiftly kicked him in the gut and hammered her elbow onto his back.
“Puhh–”
The man spat out blood, missing Jian Qing’s face by a hair. However, a small amount of blood stained her trouser leg.
Four men lay in disarray on the ground; two had lost consciousness while the remaining two writhed in agony.
Lady Quan and the others finally relaxed and a faint smile appeared on their faces. Rhee was especially impressed with Jian Qing, feeling her son had made an excellent choice.
Jian Qing rolled up her sleeves and took out her phone from her pocket, dialing the police station and quickly explained the situation in a few sentences.
In a unnoticed corner, the man who had first been taken down by Jian Qing’s blow stirred, his previously shut eyes slowly opening to reveal a menacing glare.
“Ah, Auntie!”
As Jian Qing put her phone away, she heard Quan Yifei’s panicked voice.
Turning, she saw one of the men who had been lying on the ground, grasping Rhee with one hand while a sharp dagger rested against her neck.
“Rhee!” Lady Quan turned ghastly pale from fright.
Rhee’s palm was slightly damp with sweat but she kept her expression calm. In such a situation, she knew she could not panic.
“Mother, I’m okay. Please, don’t come.”
“Let her go, and I’ll spare your life.” Jian Qing regarded the dagger at Rhee’s neck; ire filled her eyes.
Those who knew Jian Qing understood that she was truly enraged this time.
The man seemed to have resigned himself to the worst. “Stay back, or I’ll kill her! My life is worth nothing. If I die, I have no problems going to hell with her.”
Song Xirou considered the dagger in the man’s hand and formed a plan, cautiously stepping forward.
“How about this? Take me as a hostage and let Auntie go.”
The man had experienced Jian Qing’s strength and handiwork directly. He wasn’t about to let his guard down now. Grasping Rhee, he inched backward, “I said stay back, keep away.”
Jian Qing frowned slightly, noting that the man was retreating and was nearly at the edge of the hilltop. She glanced at Song Xirou, her voice frosty, “Stay there with Yifei.”
“But, Auntie is being held hostage now. I want to help,” Song Xirou said softly, biting her lip.
“No need!” Jian Qing was in no mood to play along with her at this moment. Her gaze went distant and cold. “You can’t help in this situation!”
Song Xirou’s face was slapped with Jian Qing’s harsh words. She turned around with teary eyes and walked towards Quan Yifei.
“Xirou, Jian Qing didn’t mean anything else. She’s just anxious to save Auntie,” Quan Yifei explained gently.
Song Xirou swallowed the bitterness in her heart and nodded, “I understand.”
“Jian Qing, you needn’t concern yourself with me.” Rhee called.
Worried that Jian Qing might make a reckless decision, the man pressed the knife harder against Rhee’s neck, “Shut up!”
The sharp blade grazed Rhee’s neck, leaving a shallow line of blood on her fair skin. Rhee raised her eyebrows slightly.
Jian Qing’s eyes hardened, “You have no place left to retreat. One more step backward, and if you don’t die from the fall, you’ll end up crippled.”
“Shut up.” The man jerked from Jian Qing’s words, aggravating his injury. The pain contorted his face.
What do you think?
