Chapter 38: Tutoring Wang Yidi in the Bedroom! Tong Wenjie Demoted?!
After finishing, he handed the manuscript back to Qiao Yingzi.
It was well-known that Qiao Yingzi was an academic prodigy, with a particular expertise in astronomy. Thus, her manuscript had no issues at all.
Just as Su Bai returned the manuscript to Qiao Yingzi, Song Qian pushed the door open and walked in.
Seeing both Su Bai and Qiao Yingzi immersed in their studies, Song Qian couldn’t help but nod in approval, feeling gratified.
“Su Bai, Wang Yidi is here. She said she has some questions she’d like to ask you,” Song Qian said.
Su Bai hadn’t expected Wang Yidi to arrive so soon.
However, since she was already here—and as she was one of Song Qian’s tutoring students— he agreed to help.
“Let her come to my room. Talking outside would disturb others.”
“Why not just go out and explain it? There’s no need to have her come into your room,” Song Qian said, clearly reluctant to let another girl into Su Bai’s room. She suggested he step outside instead.
“If I go out, it will disturb others. It’s better for her to come in.” Su Bai’s reply left Song Qian with no choice but to acquiesce.
Even so, she wasn’t keen on letting Su Bai and another girl stay alone in the same room. So, she turned to Qiao Yingzi and said, “Yingzi, grab a maths test paper. Once you’re done, have Su Bai mark it for you. While at it, let him guide you on problem-solving techniques.”
Qiao Yingzi, also unwilling to let Su Bai and Wang Yidi be alone, agreed to the suggestion.
Shortly after Song Qian left, Wang Yidi entered Su Bai’s room.
Su Bai had no choice but to start tutoring both Qiao Yingzi and Wang Yidi.

“Ring ring ring…”@@novelbin@@
The sound of a phone ringing interrupted them. Su Bai picked up his phone reluctantly.
The moment he put it to his ear, Qiao Yingzi’s anxious voice came through. “Su Bai, you’re not up yet? Hurry up, or we’re going to be late!”
Su Bai could hear the urgency in her tone. “Alright, alright, I’m getting up now. Give me two minutes.”
After hanging up, he swiftly ended the call.

System update complete. Would you like to sign in for today?
Congratulations, you have successfully signed in. You have obtained the entire second round of financing for Roland Public Relations.
Learning that his reward for signing in this time was the full financing of a public relations company, Su Bai understood that the amount was already credited to the company’s account.
However, he had no time to delve into the matter now. His most pressing task was to accompany Qiao Yingzi to the planetarium to deliver a lecture—a promise he had made to her.
Su Bai leapt out of bed and quickly got ready. Since he had promised to be ready within two minutes, he intended to keep his word.
As he stepped out of his room, Qiao Yingzi exited hers as well, having been waiting for him.
“Xiao Bai, breakfast is ready. I made dumplings this morning,” Song Qian said. She had risen early, as was her habit, to prepare breakfast and supervise Qiao Yingzi’s studies.
Su Bai, however, dashed into the bathroom, washed up hastily, and came out. “Aunt Song, Yingzi and I are heading out for a bit. Don’t wait for us for lunch.”
Grabbing a dumpling from the table, he headed for the door, eating as he went.
Seeing him rush off, Qiao Yingzi followed without saying much.
“Where are you two going?” Song Qian called after them, evidently uneasy about their sudden departure.
“To Qingbei University,” Su Bai replied smoothly. “We want to get a feel for the academic environment there and chat with last year’s top students about the university entrance exams.”
[Qingbei University (清北大学, Qīngběi Dàxué): A fictional reference to the two most prestigious universities in China—Tsinghua (清华) and Peking University (北京).]
Su Bai lied effortlessly, his expression calm.
Even if Song Qian suspected he was lying, there wasn’t much she could do. At worst, she’d confront him later.
When Song Qian heard Su Bai’s response, her face lit up with a smile. “Alright, just be careful on the road and don’t ride your bikes too fast.”
“Got it. Don’t worry.”
With that, Su Bai and Qiao Yingzi quickly put on their shoes and left Song Qian’s house.
Song Qian watched them go, then moved to the window to see them off.
Not five minutes later, a bright red motorcycle sped past and disappeared from view.
Seeing this, Song Qian’s heart swelled with joy. She had always hoped Qiao Yingzi would get into Qingbei University.
Though Qiao Yingzi herself wasn’t keen on the idea, accompanying Su Bai to visit the campus might change her mind.
Feeling content, Song Qian began tidying up the house. She knew her free time would be short-lived, as more students were coming for tutoring today.
Meanwhile, Tong Wenjie’s family had woken early to pack for their move to Shuxiang Yayuan.
“Hurry up, Fang Yifan! Do you still want to move to Shuxiang Yayuan?” Tong Wenjie scolded.
“Don’t worry, Lei’er. I’ve already contacted the moving company. They’ll handle everything,” said Fang Yuan, trying to calm her down.
Just yesterday, Tong Wenjie had been informed that she was being demoted from her position as Deputy Financial Director, replaced by her protégé, Xiao Jin. Now, she had to work under her former mentee—a bitter betrayal.
What do you think?
