Chapter 821: Chapter 821: Mr. Cui Chasing a Girl
Jiangjing immediately curved his lips upward, smiling as he said, “So there is tea. Then please trouble yourself to make me a cup of green tea, thank you.”
Jiu glared at him resentfully, feeling outmaneuvered, and said angrily, “Wait for it!”
Jiangjing, seemingly oblivious to his hostility, grinned and leaned next to Lin Xi, raising his eyebrows playfully, “Alright, I’ll be waiting.”
The two men had silently crossed swords several times until Jiu stormed out, yet Lin Xi hadn’t noticed anything.
“Hmph!” Jiu huffed angrily before he left, showing his dissatisfaction, then stormed off to make tea.
Jiangjing watched him leave with a chuckle, leaned to the side, and subtly blocked Lin Xi from looking in that direction. “Your employees here have quite the temper. Haven’t you trained them before they started?”
...
Lin Xi furrowed her brows and distanced herself from him, “Jiu just has that kind of personality. There’s no need for training. He won’t be working here long; he’s just here to earn and learn during his holiday from school.”
Listening to her defending another man caused a tightness in Jiangjing’s chest, and impulsively, he grabbed her wrist. “You say he’s just a student here to work during his holiday, but I feel like you know him quite well? You even understand his personality clearly. Is he really just your employee?”
Lin Xi, disliking the closeness of a man, tensed up and her eyes turned cold, adding a stern chill to her otherwise plain face, “Who Jiu is to you has nothing to do with you, Mr. Cui. Are you perhaps mistaken about our relationship? Or are you trying to hit on me?”
She saw her reflection in the mirror every day while washing her face and had seen online the scandals involving this notorious playboy, always with long-legged, slim-waisted beauties. She was self-aware and didn’t think her looks were attractive to him.
But she failed to understand why this well-known playboy of Capital City had latched onto her like a stubborn plaster, impossible to shake off.
Jiangjing had never been so emotionally turbulent over any woman before; his eyes deepened as he said, “If I say I’m trying to hit on you, would you be interested in being my girlfriend?”
Lin Xi was taken aback, “Are you feverish?”
“What do you know about me that you’re saying you want to pursue me?”
Jiangjing had long investigated her thoroughly. At her question, he smiled slightly and said, “Lin Xi, 25, the precious daughter of the Gu Family Main Room. After university, you stayed in the east for studies and participated in three international humanitarian missions before returning to the country to open this completely unrelated auto repair shop. You like machinery and computer programs, are skilled in hacking yet incredibly discreet, only utilizing your skills when helping Rong Yan, and otherwise, you seem just like an ordinary auto shop owner…”
Lin Xi looked at his confident demeanor and pulled her hand free, “You call this understanding?”
This presumptuous so-called understanding, she didn’t need it at all!
“Am I wrong?” Jiangjing asked, his expression serene and confident. The information he had researched couldn’t be incorrect; this was indeed this woman’s experience.
She seemed ordinary yet contradictory.
Despite being a delicate young woman, she strangely ended up connected with international rescue after studying abroad. Despite majoring in financial data, she inexplicably came back to the country to open an auto repair shop.
And where did she learn her advanced hacking skills from, and why did she use them so discreetly?
These mysteries were like numerous little hooks, tugging at him to learn more about the woman before him.
What do you think?
