Chapter 120 Sword Revenant
Moments later, the door swung open, and Yelena stepped inside, leading the three adventurers into the room. Brook's sharp eyes immediately assessed them.
The first was a tall, silver-haired man with a calm demeanor and piercing blue eyes. His armor was sleek and practical, lacking any unnecessary embellishments, yet it exuded an aura of power. His longsword rested at his side, its hilt engraved with runes that glowed faintly.
The second was a woman with striking violet hair tied into a loose braid. She carried herself with an air of confidence, her dark leather armor fitted with numerous pouches and throwing knives. A bow slung over her shoulder suggested she was a ranged specialist. Her sharp amber eyes swept the room, taking in every detail.
The last was a young man with messy brown hair and an energetic grin. His robes marked him as a mage, but the intricate patterns glowing faintly across the fabric hinted at mastery beyond that of a mere spellcaster. His staff, topped with a glowing crystal, seemed to hum softly with restrained power.
These three are none other than Roman, Roselia, and Leon in their disguise. Knowing that the True Skeleton King Raid will definitely cause some grand scenery that will not go unnoticed, they began to hide their true appearance.
Brook studied them carefully before gesturing to the chairs in front of his desk. "Have a seat," he said, his tone neutral but firm.
The trio exchanged glances and sat down. Brook leaned forward, resting his elbows on the desk. "Yelena tells me you're interested in joining the Thunder Slammers for the Sword Revenant raid," he began, watching their reactions closely.
The silver-haired man nodded. "That's correct. My name is Drake. These are my companions, Milly and Liam." He gestured to the woman and the mage. "We're seeking a challenge worthy of our skills, and the Sword Revenant caught our attention."
Brook narrowed his eyes. "You're aware of the risks? Revenants are not your typical undead. This isn't just a dungeon raid—it's a fight against a being that's as powerful as a king in life and now bolstered by its undead form."
Milly smirked. "We've faced worse."
Liam chimed in, his voice brimming with enthusiasm. "Besides, we're not here to ask for handouts. We're offering our strength. In return, we'll take a share of the rewards—particularly the revenant's head."
Brook's fingers tapped lightly on the desk as he considered their proposition. It was bold—almost too bold. Yet there was something about the trio that set them apart. They carried themselves with a quiet confidence that even seasoned adventurers rarely possessed.
"Why should I trust you?" Brook asked bluntly. "You show up out of nowhere, offering help. What's stopping me from thinking you're spies sent by the other guilds?"
Drake leaned forward, his expression calm but firm. "Trust is earned, not given. Let us prove ourselves. If we fail, you lose nothing. But if we succeed, you gain allies strong enough to turn the tide of this raid."
Brook stared at him for a long moment, then glanced at Yelena. She gave a subtle nod, her sharp instincts telling her that the trio wasn't lying.
"Fine," Brook said finally, sitting back in his chair. "You'll join the raid as part of the Thunder Slammers. But understand this—if you betray us, you won't leave this city alive."
Drake nodded. "Fair enough. When do we start?"@@novelbin@@
Brook smirked. "Tomorrow morning. Be ready."
The trio stood, and as they turned to leave, Brook watched them closely. There was something about them—an unshakable determination—that made him both uneasy and intrigued.
As the door closed behind them, Yelena looked at Brook. "Do you think they can be trusted?"
Brook shrugged. "We'll find out soon enough. Either they're our greatest asset—or our biggest mistake."

The trio exited the room and glanced at each other.
"You couldn't come up with a better name than Milly?" Roselia asked, glaring at Leon.
He shrugged nonchalantly. "Does it really matter?"
Roselia narrowed her eyes at him but said nothing further.
"Why are we even discussing this?" Roman asked, his tone confused.
Leon responded calmly, "It's better to stay cautious. The True Skeleton King raid is going to be done by us for the first time. It's bound to attract some attention."
Roman nodded in agreement, understanding the need for their disguises and careful planning.
As the trio walked through the bustling streets of the Imperial City, their conversation continued.
Roselia crossed her arms, her eyes scanning the crowd. "I get the caution part, but do you really think disguises are enough to avoid suspicion? Brook is already wary of us."
Leon smirked slightly. "Brook is cautious, but he's also desperate. The Thunder Slammers are the weakest of the top guilds, and they can't afford to turn away help—especially from people as strong as us. As long as we play our roles well, he'll let us stay."
Roman adjusted his staff on his shoulder, his gaze distant. "What if the other guilds catch wind of us? They'll try to sniff us out, especially if they think we're here to steal their prize."
Leon nodded thoughtfully. "That's why we need to keep our heads down for now. Once the raid starts, we can show our true strength. By then, it'll be too late for anyone to stop us."
Roselia sighed. "Fine, but I'm still not happy about 'Milly.' If anyone laughs, I'm blaming you."
Leon chuckled. "Noted. Let's focus on gathering information for now. The more we know about the Sword Revenant and the others, the better prepared we'll be."
The trio made their way toward the central square, where adventurers gathered to exchange news and rumors. The square was alive with chatter, the air thick with anticipation and tension as the city prepared for the upcoming raid.
As they blended into the crowd, Roselia leaned closer to Leon and whispered, "Do you think this Revenant is as powerful as they say?"

Leon's expression turned serious. "If the reports are true, it's not just powerful—it's a threat capable of wiping out entire parties. We can't afford to underestimate it."
What do you think?
