My Pet Beast is Super Fearsome

Chapter 100 - 99: Word Spirit Cat

Chapter 100: Chapter 99: Word Spirit Cat

“Where am I?”

Darkness, pure darkness, not a sliver of light in sight.

Shao Zifeng’s consciousness gradually returned, his mind still a bit sluggish, he subconsciously wanted to reach out to touch his face, but he felt nothing but emptiness.

“What’s happened to me, and… who am I?”

His brain felt as if it had been frozen, muddled yet slowly turning, as though time had been merely a moment yet also an eternity.

It was not until a “crack” of a shattering sound exploded by his ear that several crimson cracks appeared in the darkness, with countless flames bursting out, burning quietly, but these flames still didn’t dispel the darkness.

...

“Hiss!”

The familiar hissing sounded, and Shao Zifeng listlessly gazed towards the source of the sound.

Deep in the darkness, there was a shimmer, revealing eight blood-red spider eyes, its eight legs with bulging veins moved quickly, its fangs outside its mouthpiece flipping back and forth, as it fiercely bit towards Shao Zifeng.

Watching the mouthparts that seemed like an abyss devouring him, Shao Zifeng’s mind shattered its chains, with flashes of images flickering in his head.

At that moment, the demon spider in the air suddenly stiffened, frozen in place.

At the end of the darkness, a faint hint of dawn’s light appeared, the silhouette of a city skyline barely visible.

The demon spider let out an unwilling roar, its body shaking violently, a crack abruptly appeared on its body, then rapidly spread over its entire form.

“Hiss!!”

Its body violently decomposed, as if pressure had squeezed it into a ball, suspended in mid-air, expanding and contracting continuously.

Once it reached a critical point, the sphere suddenly exploded, and an invisible ripple rapidly spread out.

Shao Zifeng stared dumbly at the explosion wave that was about to devour him, frozen in place.

“Meow!”

A clear meow resonated in the depths of his heart, a flash of white darting in front of Shao Zifeng’s eyes.

His thoughts vanished in an instant, and vaguely, the sunrise finally rose from the horizon.

Shao Zifeng suddenly opened his eyes, blankly staring at the ceiling.

“So, it was just a dream.”

He stretched out one hand, turning it back and forth in front of him, his fingers slender, the skin pale and unmarked.

Resting the back of his hand on his forehead, he carefully recalled the images in his mind.

The last image in his memory seemed to be himself holding a Tang sword, striking from above to cleave the Split-eyed Demon Spider in a moment of glory.

Although the final lines were somewhat embarrassing and exaggerated, where was he now?

He suddenly sat up with a jerk.

“Hiss~”

Pleasantly sour indeed.

His muscles felt like they had been gnawed by ants, a sense of weakness making him lie back down on the bed.

Was he broken? Why couldn’t he even sit up?

But that did not stop Shao Zifeng’s thirst for knowledge, he struggled to turn his head, surveying his surroundings.

He found himself in a room resembling a hospital room, with no lights on, making it difficult to see clearly, just a few unfamiliar machines by the bed, their red and green buttons twinkling faintly, and there was a soft, slow beeping sound in his ears.

His gaze swept over to the window, where a pair of deep blue luminous eyes stared unblinkingly back at him.

Shao Zifeng was startled, his right hand instinctively tightening, only to realize there was no hidden edge scabbard in his hand.

A breeze blew, lifting a corner of the curtain, and a beam of light shone through the gap.

The owner of those eyes was a cat, its fur white as snow under the sunlight seemingly radiating Holy Light, around its neck a red ribbon with a mobile phone hanging from it.

It was perched on the windowsill, gazing at Shao Zifeng with its pale blue eyes, its fluffy tail wrapped around its front paws and resting on the edge of the window, the tip gently swaying.

“You’re awake.”

A languid, mature-sounding voice rose to Shao Zifeng’s ear, tinged with a hint of huskiness, as if a pair of small hands were brushing over his heart, raising goosebumps.

Shao Zifeng looked around with alertness and difficulty to make sure there was no one in the room other than himself.

“I’m here, don’t you recognize me?” the voice sounded again, this time with a trace of dissatisfaction.

“Who are you?”

Shao Zifeng was somewhat bewildered. There was no one here. Could it be a case of someone hiding under the bed?

“Snap!”

A white blur flashed by, and Shao Zifeng felt a heaviness in his chest as a fluffy little paw slapped his face.

Looking down from its perch, the white cat spoke with a hint of grievance, “Well, aren’t you something, Zifeng? I’ve been here guarding you for seven days, and you don’t even recognize me, you lousy scum… I’ll pound you, pound you to death.”

Having said that, the white cat proceeded to knead Shao Zifeng’s chest with its little paws back and forth.

Shao Zifeng’s face darkened. Are you sure you’re trying to pound me to death?

Isn’t this just kneading, really… quite comfortable.

As he thought this, the image of a little white cat kneading back and forth on him appeared in his mind, and he asked in astonishment, “Are you Qiqi?”

Qiqi paused in her movements, her blue watery eyes glittering with joy, then she huffed proudly and turned her head away.

She looked like a little offended princess who could not be easily pacified, but the gentle flick of her tail betrayed that she was still in a fairly good mood.

Before he could speak, the spinning blue dots finally came to a halt, and a semi-transparent screen unfolded next to Qiqi.

After reading this information, Shao Zifeng remained silent for a long while.

Judging from the images in his dream, something unexpected must have occurred after that slash he dealt, and he was eventually saved by the timely arrival of Qiuqiu.

Seeing that Shao Zifeng didn’t pamper her even after a long wait, Qiqi glared at him in annoyance, then lay down on his chest and expertly turned on the phone, her little paws swiftly scrolling over it, while she kept talking, “Look at you, so grown up yet still not allowing me to have peace of mind. You’ve kept me from playing games for days. Do you know how dangerous it was this time? Can’t you be a little less troublesome for me? If it weren’t for me this time…”

At this point, Qiqi suddenly closed her mouth, stealing a glance and noticing that Shao Zifeng was looking at her with a warm smile. @@novelbin@@

With a ferocious yet cute glare, Qiqi turned her head away, feeling somewhat guilty and no longer paying him any attention.

“It hurt a lot, didn’t it?” Shao Zifeng gently stroked Qiqi’s little head and said softly.

Qiqi’s little ears twitched, and she nudged her head against Shao Zifeng’s palm and murmured a muffled “mm-hmm.”
