Chapter 106 It's Not The Su Family's Money
Feng Fan continued to watch as the next items were sold, but his interest remained minimal.
In fact, even if he had wanted to bid, he quickly realized he couldn't afford most of them. The cheapest item had been a tier 5 pill for heart demons with only 10% pill poison, priced at half a hundred thousand middle-grade qi stones.
'Ah, how tough it is to be poor,' he thought to himself.
Qian Xiaoli, seated beside him, didn't place any bids either. Feng Fan knew it wasn't because she lacked money, but because the items didn't interest her.

"Are you waiting for something specific?" Feng Fan asked, curious.
Qian Xiaoli turned to face him, a little surprised by his question. Usually, it was she who initiated the conversation.
"Yes, there's a heavenly treasure that can help strengthen my foundation and assist in my breakthrough to the Golden Core Formation realm. I came here specifically to buy it."
Feng Fan nodded. "I see. No wonder you didn't buy anything. How much do you think it will cost?"
Qian Xiaoli smiled. "At least three million middle-grade qi stones."
At the mention of the price, Feng Fan nearly choked on his own breath. "Isn't that something only Establishment realm cultivators can use? Why is it so expensive?"
"It's useful even for Nascent Soul cultivators, so the price isn't surprising. But don't worry, I have more than enough to buy it."
Feng Fan nodded, his attention drifting elsewhere. The next item, however, immediately caught his attention—it was exactly what Qian Xiaoli had been waiting for.
"Ladies and gentlemen," the auctioneer announced, "the next item is truly extraordinary. Not only can it strengthen one's foundation up to the Nascent Soul realm or below, but it can even aid in a breakthrough to the next realm! Behold, the miraculous Blue Mystical Apple!"
A clerk stepped forward, carefully presenting the item to the stage. The blue apple rested inside a transparent glass container, clearly visible to all the spectators.
"The starting bid for this rare treasure is two hundred thousand middle-grade qi stones!"
At the announcement, the crowd erupted in excitement, their enthusiasm reaching its peak. No previous item had come close to stirring such a reaction.
Although many present had already surpassed the Nascent Soul realm and had no personal need for the Blue Mystical Apple, they were eager to acquire it for their descendants.
This was similar to Qian Xiaoli's situation. The funds to purchase it didn't come from her, but from the emperor himself.
If Qian Xiaoli could successfully break through to the Golden Core Formation realm, her standing in the Young Generation Competition would at least be top five.
The crowd surged with bids as the price quickly climbed past two million middle-grade qi stones, but Qian Xiaoli remained silent, not yet making a move.
"Three million qi stones!" A voice rang out from a private cabin next to theirs. "I trust my friends will give King Yi a little face."
The veiled threat in his words didn't go unnoticed. Feng Fan rolled his eyes in disdain. "King Yi? Really? This third-rate villain can't even come up with a better line."
Whispers spread through the crowd as people hesitated, some believing the price had already reached its peak, while others feared offending King Yi and chose not to bid any higher.
Wan Yun, the host, wore a displeased expression. She earned a commission on every item sold, and she wasn't happy with King Yi's interference. She knew the Blue Mystical Apple could still fetch a higher price.
Wan Yun didn't let King Yi's interruption deter her. She maintained her composure and continued, "Anyone willing to bid higher? Going once…"
"Four million qi stones!" A voice cut through the tension. For the first time since the auction started, Qian Xiaoli made her move, increasing the price by a full million.
Feng Fan's eyes widened. 'Four million qi stones... With that, I could cultivate until the Nascent Soul realm…'
In his private cabin, King Yi's expression soured. He clenched his fists in frustration but remained silent. Four million was already beyond his budget for the Blue Mystical Apple.
"Going once, going twice, going three times, sold! We'll send a clerk for private cabinet number 659."
As the auction proceeded, a knock came at the cabin door.
"Come in," Qian Xiaoli called out.
The door opened to reveal Sun De, the clerk, holding the glass container with the Blue Mystical Apple inside. He stepped in gracefully and presented it to Qian Xiaoli.
"Lady Qian," Sun De said.
Qian Xiaoli retrieved a space ring containing the payment and handed it to him. In exchange, Sun De passed her the container with the Blue Mystical Apple, bowing slightly before exiting the cabin.
As the door closed, Feng Fan glanced at Qian Xiaoli. "You could've gotten it for less, couldn't you?"
A sly smile played on Qian Xiaoli's lips as she placed the fruit securely into her personal space ring. "Perhaps, but why bother? It's not the Su family's money; it's the Qian Emperor's. No need to hold back."
Feng Fan chuckled softly, nodding in understanding. "Makes sense."
The next item was soon unveiled, and Wan Yun's voice rang out.
"Ladies and gentlemen, our next treasure comes straight from the Dao Seeking School! This extraordinary item was discovered within the depths of an immortal ruin!"
Her words immediately sent waves of murmurs through the crowd, stirring their curiosity.
"An item from an immortal ruin? They're really auctioning something like that here?" one person shouted
"Hmph," another scoffed skeptically. "If it were truly extraordinary, the Dao Seeking School wouldn't part with it so easily."
The room buzzed with speculation, a mix of excitement and doubt filling the air as all eyes remained fixed on the stage.
The clerk stepped inside the stage with the treasure. Resting on a velvet cushion was a small, black circular plate.
As the next item was brought to the stage, Feng Fan felt his connection to the Suppression Relic stirring, resonating in a way it hadn't before.
Whatever was being presented seemed to provoke a profound reaction from it.
Feng Fan's eyes narrowed. 'This… it's no ordinary artifact.'
What do you think?
