It is said that a woman’s heart is as inscrutable as a needle at the bottom of the ocean. Tang Yuxin couldn’t help but feel that a man’s heart is just the same.

“Let’s go home. All the paperwork is settled,” Gu Ning opened the door and walked out. Tang Yuxin took one last look at the hospital room where she had stayed for nearly half a month. Everything had been cleaned and even the quilts were perfectly folded. She thought of her own tofu-like quilt at home and pondered whether she should sleep at night?

With everything so neatly arranged, she didn’t dare to touch anything.

“Uncle Gu, are you leaving too?” Tang Yuxin took a step forward, trotting to catch up with him.

“Yes,” Gu Ning casually responded, “I have some business to take care of and may go on a business trip for a few days. I’ll be back later.”

“Don’t be afraid, your arm will definitely be useful,” Tang Yuxin comforted him. “I’ll be doing the operation. Once the pins are removed and you have rested, your arm will once again be free. You’re young and your recovery should be good. After about two months, your arm should be as good as new. However, you have to be careful with the fresh bones, no running, no leaping, nothing strenuous.” Yao Lei took every word she said to heart and absolutely followed them.

It is not easy for him to have saved his arm. He would never forget that it was Dr. Tang who performed the operation, kneeling on the ground for five hours just to save his arm.

“Dr. Tang personally extracted your pins and performed your surgery. Your wound is just five centimeters long, resulting from careful and precise stitching, it should barely be noticeable once healed.”

Upon hearing this, Yao Lei relaxed, brightened up and joy started to fill his heart.

In less than a month, he was to have the stitches in his arm removed. He was not looking forward to the scars, but when he couldn’t help but steal a peek during the procedure, he didn’t find it as terrifying as he had imagined. Even though there would be some nasty scars, he wasn’t afraid. These were honorable to a soldier, showcasing their military achievements.

After getting his stitches removed, as long as he does not get a fever or infection, he can return to school soon. As long as he doesn’t do anything too vigorous, this arm should not have any major problems and should stay with him for the rest of his life.

Yao Lei’s arm was healing nicely. But it seems everybody forgot about someone else, Jin Wenhan, who also had surgery on the same day as Yao Lei.
