My Wife Is A Miracle Doctor In The 80s

Chapter 473 - 467: Like Seeing a Ghost

Chapter 473 - 467: Like Seeing a Ghost

The door was pushed open from outside, not sounding like someone moving about.

She turned around to see a young guy in a wheelchair with a cast on his arm. His youthful face was always adorned with a smile.

"Hello, Dr. Tang."

The young man bashfully smiled, "My name is Yao Lei, your patient. I wanted to thank you for saving my arm. If it had not been for you, I would have become a disabled person."

He lifted his arm a bit. Even though it did not hurt at this moment, the pain sometimes drove him to retreat beneath the blanket in secret sobs. Nonetheless, at the very least, his limbs were intact.

"How have you been recently?" Tang Yuxin put the book in her hand aside. She was rather fond of this young man, who gave off a sense of genuineness when he smiled. @@novelbin@@

"Not bad, the pain has lessened," said Yao Lei, scratching his head with his uninjured hand, "What about you, Dr. Tang? Is everything okay with you?"

"I'm fine," Tang Yuxin was indeed in very good condition, as if on vacation.

She turned around and chuckled at Yao Lei, "By the way, how old are you? You look quite young."

"Dr. Tang, I'm eighteen and will be going off to college next year," Yao Lei shyly replied, absentmindedly stepping his left foot on his right.

Tang Yuxin smiled wryly, feeling a tinge of envy. She was twenty-three, an "old aunt". Eighteen, what a great age.

Tang Yuxin often forgot her own age. While some people longed to eternally remain eighteen, she often felt like a forty-eight-year-old woman.

The door opened again, and Gu Ning came in carrying food. Upon seeing Gu Ning, Yao Lei was filled with reverence. Gu Ning, his idol, who had once given a lecture at their school, was a martial arts champion, and now owned a prestigious security company.

"Hello, sir," he said loudly, full of vigor, with a loud, resonant voice that almost made Tang Yuxin drop her book.

"Huh?" Gu Ning gave Yao Lei a nonchalant glance. "Which school are you?" Only a student could call him 'sir'.

"Sir," Yao Lei straightened his back and replied with great clarity and resonance, "I am Yao Lei, a senior, from Beijing Normal University."

Tang Yuxin propped up her cheek.

These two guys, did they care if she was able to have her meal in peace or not? Her tofu dish was probably going to get cold, then what else could she eat?

"How did you get injured?" Gu Ning pointed at Yao Lei's arm and asked.

"Sir, I was hit by a car on my way home at night." Yao Lei inhaled deeply in discomfort. It was indeed a stroke of unfortunate luck. Luckily, his legs were spared, or he would have become a lifelong cripple.

Tang Yuxin cradled her lunch box with a desolate face.

"Take care and rest to recover," Gu Ning opened the door to help push the wheelchair. Yao Lei was immensely moved to tears.

His teacher actually pushed his wheelchair. He would definitely recover quickly, return to school, and after graduation, work at his teacher's security company.

His parents needed him, and he needed to live for them. He was determined to live healthily.

When Gu Ning returned, Tang Yuxin had already begun eating. Holding a white roll in one hand and eating vegetables with the other, she ate beneath a beam of sunlight that managed to find its way in and landed right above her eyes illuminating them, which seemed to glow green under the light.

The room was filled with an indescribable cold fragrance, which Tang Yuxin herself had possibly forgotten.

This fragrance was akin to the hidden scent beneath the ice and snow, it could be noticed immediately upon entering the room, but would be ignored once you got used to it.

"I'm so full," Tang Yuxin patted her belly.

"Uncle Gu, given how I'm eating and sleeping, do you think I might turn into a pig in the future?"

"Let's discuss that after you've fully recovered," Gu Ning replied, taking some clothes to the side, ready to wash them. Luckily he was there, otherwise Tang Yuxin would not just grow fat like a pig, but would also be dirty like one.

Tang Yuxin rubbed her belly thinking, she felt that perhaps she needed to plan for middle age. She wondered, should she start losing weight, or should she start eating less from now on?

But every time she saw tofu and noodles, she could not help herself. Her mouth never stopped eating, gulped down a box full of food and two white rolls till every morsel was inside her belly. With such a hearty diet, her health improved noticeably each day. She felt ready to return to work.

She yawned and realized she had indeed been living a carefree life lately, almost resembling her worry-free childhood. The most ignorant period of her life had been when she was three years old, totally oblivious. However, she forgot what her life was back then. Ever since she was reborn, she never lived simple lives. Every day, she toiled for a goal without rest. She feared returning to her former life; it would harm not only herself but also others.

The door squeaked as it was pushed open.

"Yuxin, what did you spray in here? The room smells so good," a voice called out.

Li Jia entered, immediately noticing the strong and appealing fragrance in the ward. The fragrance wasn't from a perfume; instead, it was a natural cold fragrance. It smelled amazing and even felt a little cooling in her nostrils.

Tang Yuxin was taken aback. She had totally forgotten about the fragrance.

Quickly she jumped off the bed, put on her shoes, grabbed her stuff, and ran outside.

"Yuxin, what are you doing?" Just before Li Jia could inquire, Tang Yuxin was already running down the hallway.

"Really, am I frightening you to see me as a ghost?," grumbled Li Jia, heading over to introduce some order to the messy a room. As she folded the blanket, she put it close to her nose. It was then when she found that the blanket had the same sweet scent as the room.

Meanwhile, Tang Yuxin had reached her dorm. It was neat and clean since Gu Ning visited daily to tidy it up. He could do almost everything, including tasks typically done by males or females. The only thing he couldn't do was to have a baby, but if he could even do that, wouldn't he be perfect?

Rushing, she opened her cabinet, took out a small medicine bottle, poured a tablet into her hand, inserted it into her mouth, and swallowed.

Just because she had undergone a bone marrow aspiration, did that mean she had gone stupid? How could she forget about the fragrance?

She sat down on her bed, feeling the familiarity of her own surroundings. She decided to discuss with the head of the hospital regarding her discharge. She could now take proper rest at home and even start seeing patients provided no surgery was required; her body was fit enough to handle it.

When she reached the ward, Gu had already begun packing her belongings. He turned around. In his black pupils, reflected the most visible element - her own eyes, peering into the depths of his, yet unable to figure out his inner thoughts.
