Natural Disaster: I Started By Hoarding Tens Of Billions Of Supplies

Chapter 498 498: Renewed Hope

Li Tianyu paused and added in a heavy voice, "If we continue on foot, our supplies won't last until we reach the gathering point. Besides, the constant earthquakes make the journey extremely dangerous since we don't know when the ground might split or potholes might appear. We also have to race against the rising seawater levels."

"I discussed this with the other captains and staff, and we all came to one conclusion." He paused for a moment before adding in a heavy voice, "We won't make it to the new gathering point alive."

When he finished speaking, the meeting room fell into a heavy silence.

After a moment, Ma Benshun suddenly raised his hand and said, "Captain, I think I might have a solution."

At his words, everyone in the meeting room turned to look at him, while Li Tianyu and those inside the bus stared at the communication device with hope in their eyes.

"What is it?" Long Yu asked.

Ma Benshun exchanged glances with Quan Yuanwei and Guan Haotian, who both nodded in agreement.

He then turned to Long Yu and explained, "Captain, when we were still in the air raid shelter, Miss Yao once asked Haotian, Brother Quan, Brother Sima, and me to accompany her to four secret places nearby. She called these places checkpoints."

"In these places, there are a lot of weapons, fuel, and supplies. From the information that I gathered at the time, these locations likely belong to an organization called The Origin and were prepared for their members to resupply while doing missions outside."

"Since Miss Yao knew the location of these four places, I suspect there are more checkpoints out there, and Miss Yao should know their exact locations. If she is willing to help us check whether these checkpoints are still available, Captain Li and the others might be able to resupply."

Li Tianyu and the others felt a surge of hope upon hearing this. If Ma Benshun's information was accurate, they might just survive and reach the new gathering point.

While they were excited by the good news, Xu Ruihan looked at Long Yu and asked, "Brother Long, can you ask Younger Sister Ran Ran if she is willing to share the locations of these checkpoints?"

Long Yu nodded. "Alright."

Shi Xuan handed his communication device to Long Yu, who then dialed Yao Ran's number.

As soon as the call connected, Yao Ran picked up and asked, "Shi Xuan, do you need something?"

"Ran Ran, where are you now?" Long Yu asked.

Realizing it was her fiancé calling, Yao Ran frowned slightly and replied, "I'm on my way back. Why are you using Shi Xuan's communication device?"

Long Yu explained Li Tianyu's situation to her and asked, "Can you help us check if those checkpoints are still available?"

After listening to his explanation, Yao Ran answered, "Sure. I will send you the map immediately."

After receiving a positive answer, Long Yu breathed a sigh of relief and reminded her, "All right. Be careful on your way back."

"Mhm." Yao Ran smiled and ended the call.

After ending the call, she sent the map to Long Yu's communication device, including information about the meaning of the colors and numbers displayed on the map. Once she was done, Yao Ran paddled faster and rushed back to Tower F.

In the meeting room, Long Yu shared the map with Li Tianyu and projected it on the white screen for everyone to see.

"These are the coordinates of the checkpoints. Judging from the remaining ones, it seems the checkpoints are scattered across the country," Long Yu explained.

Pointing to the six remaining checkpoints on the map, he continued, "Out of the six checkpoints, three are green, two are blue, and one is red. According to Ran Ran, the green ones are fully stocked, while the red ones are empty."

"Two of the green checkpoints are near Captain Li's position. To save time and fuel, I recommend Captain Li check these two green checkpoints first before heading to the last green one. After assessing the supplies at each checkpoint, Captain Li can decide whether or not to go to the two blue checkpoints."

Li Tianyu responded, "Understood. We will proceed as Captain Long suggested."

Hearing this, everyone in the meeting room visibly relaxed.

Before ending the call, Long Yu reminded Li Tianyu again, "Be careful on your way and keep us updated on your status."

"Got it," Li Tianyu replied before ending the communication.

With renewed hope, Li Tianyu turned to the captains and staff. "We should move quickly before the next earthquake happens. Inform the survivors—we will leave in two minutes."

Revitalized by the new goal, the captains and staff regained their fighting spirit. They all saluted Li Tianyu and responded in unison, "Yes, Captain Li."

While Li Tianyu and his team headed toward the nearest checkpoints, Yao Ran arrived at Tower F and joined the others in the meeting.

Sitting down next to Long Yu, she looked at everyone present and asked, "Has A Yu explained my plan to leave this place?"

"Yes. Brother Long informed us about your plan yesterday," Mu Xichen replied.

Xu Ruihan looked at Yao Ran and asked, "Younger Sister Ran Ran, why do you suddenly want to leave this place? I thought you said it was safe here."

Yao Ran was silent for a moment before replying, "This place is controlled by the central government, and all of us have already turned our backs on them. If we stay, we will be at their mercy. This could be very dangerous for Uncle Xu and your family."

It was no secret that Xu Qipeng had opposed the central government when he refused to send supplies and medicine to Shoudu City in the past. Since they had already become enemies, staying at Nirvana permanently would be dangerous.

After hearing her explanation, Xu Ruihan nodded in agreement. "You are right. Since staying here isn't an option, we need to find somewhere else."

He paused for a second before asking, "Younger Sister Ran Ran, do you have a suitable place in mind?"
