Chapter 28 - The Clima-Tact! Paving the Way for My Brother!

Chapter 28: The Clima-Tact! Paving the Way for My Brother!

Over the next few days, Kaya spent her time saying goodbye to the villagers she had grown up with. Her warm personality had made her beloved in Syrup Village, and now that she was finally healthy. Everyone was reluctant to see her leave. Meanwhile, Merry was working tirelessly, bringing to life the dream ship he had designed in his childhood: The Going Merry. The thought of Lady Kaya sailing across the world in his masterpiece filled him with boundless energy. It was almost as if his skills had improved overnight.

What Merry didn’t realize was that Ace had used the Realm of Enlightenment on him. Merry was a good shipwright, but his talent was ordinary. In the original timeline, the Going Merry had suffered from neglect, leading to its eventual demise. But this time, Ace was determined to make sure the ship’s construction was flawless. After all, a ship that could develop a spirit was worthy of being perfected.

Meanwhile, Ace was being tormented by a certain orange-haired navigator. “Oi, Captain!” Nami clung to Ace’s arm, pouting. “I was your first crewmate! You can’t play favorites!” She fluttered her lashes, “Give me a Devil Fruit, too! I wanna get stronger so I can help you!”

Ace glanced at her. Her eyes had already turned into Berry symbols.

This girl… Ace sighed. “You don’t want a Devil Fruit for strength. You just want to sell it for money, don’t you?”

Nami’s expression stiffened. “Eh?! W- What are you talking about?! I would never!” Her face turned red, and she quickly looked away. “You don’t trust your first crewmate at all!” She huffed dramatically. Beside them, Kaya laughed softly. For the first time in her life, she had true friends, people she could talk to, laugh with, and depend on.

She rested her chin on her hand, gazing at Ace’s profile. A gentle smile formed on her lips.

She will never forget that it was Ace who had given me a new life.

“Alright, enough!” Ace grabbed Nami’s face, squishing it into a puffy ball. “Mmmph! Let me go!

“I already have a Devil Fruit prepared for you,” Ace said. “But it’s in the Grand Line. I’ll take you there to get it.”

Pffft!

Nami wiggled free, her cheeks puffed in annoyance. “What kind of excuse is that?!”

She crossed her arms. “You don’t have it now, do you?”

Ace grinned, leaning in close. “That Devil Fruit is even rarer than Kaya’s Healing Fruit. It’s worth at least 3 billion Berries.”

Nami’s brain froze. “3… 3 billion…?” Her face turned pale. Her legs wobbled. “3 billion Berries?!” She stood there, completely frozen, her thoughts short-circuiting. Ace smirked. “So? Still think I’m not being fair?”

Nami snapped out of it. “You’re not lying, right?!” She grabbed his collar, her eyes gleaming. “A 3 billion Berry Devil Fruit… for me?!” Ace laughed. “Have I ever lied to you?” Nami thought about it seriously. Since meeting Ace, every single thing he had said had come true, even the impossible things.

This was real.

“A 3 billion Berry Devil Fruit…” Her voice shook. “I… I can’t believe this…” Ace grinned, ruffling her orange hair. “You’re my navigator, Nami. Of course, I’ll make you stronger.”

Kaya smiled warmly. “That’s wonderful, Nami.” Nami’s excitement faded slightly. “But… it’s in the Grand Line…” She pouted. “So I have to wait?”

Ace nodded. “But for now, you need a weapon to fight with.” Nami’s curiosity was piqued. “A weapon?”

“Come with me.” Ace took her hand, leading her toward the workshop. Kaya followed closely behind, her eyes fixed on Ace’s back. As a ship doctor, I should always stay near my captain.

She smiled softly. This is where I belong.

Meeting the Liar

At the village entrance, a young man with a long nose ran through the streets.

“Pirates! Pirates are coming!”

His voice echoed through the town. Villagers stared at him blankly.

“USOPP, YOU BRAT! STOP LYING OR I’LL KILL YOU!”

The townspeople yelled angrily, chasing him out of the square.

“HAHAHA!”

Usopp laughed as he escaped into the hills. Just as he was about to run past a clearing, a hand grabbed his collar.

“Yo. You must be Usopp.”

Usopp froze. He turned and came face-to-face with Ace’s smirking expression.

“Y-You… who are you?!” Usopp stammered. Ace smiled. “I’m Ace. A pirate.”

Usopp’s blood ran cold.

“P-PIRATE?!”

His legs shook violently.

“EVERYONE! PIRATES ARE REALLY HERE! RUN!”

He screamed toward the village, but no one listened. Ace sighed.

So this is my little brother’s future sniper, huh?

“Relax,” Ace said.

“I’m not here to steal anything.” He gestured to the girls beside him. “This is Kaya, my ship doctor, and this is Nami, my navigator.”

Usopp froze again. “Kaya?!” His eyes widened. “But… you’re the rich girl from the mansion! Weren’t you sick?” Kaya smiled gently, “I was but Ace healed me.”

Usopp stared at Ace, his brain struggling to process. “You… you know my dad?” Ace shrugged, “Not personally, But my brother, Luffy, was saved by him once.” Usopp’s body tensed, “You… You know my old man?” Ace grinned. “Yeah.” “Now—” He tossed Usopp some tools. “Help me build a Clima-Tact for Nami.”

[Clima-Tact (天候棒 / Tiān hòu bàng) – A powerful weapon designed for weather-based combat, originally created by Usopp.]

Then, Ace’s hand glowed with power. A golden aura spread around Usopp. “Realm of Enlightenment.” Usopp’s eyes widened. His mind expanded, enhancing his sniping abilities. Within hours, he had created a weapon beyond anything in the original timeline.

As Ace walked away, Usopp stared at his hands. “My shooting… My accuracy… It’s on another level…” His eyes burned with excitement. “Monkey D. Luffy…Your brother is insane.”
