Chapter 450: Chapter 450 Is this a swamp again?
“What’s wrong? Is there a problem?”
Lin Yi looked around; everything seemed the same to him so, generally speaking, there wasn’t much of a difference as far as he was concerned.
“No, it just feels like there’s something strange about this place. I didn’t have this feeling before, but now, as we walk this way, it seems somewhat abnormal.”@@novelbin@@
“Abnormal, you mean to say there’s something not right nearby? If there’s really something, then we should hurry and leave this place.”
“It’s not that. It’s not any sort of fierce beast, but I am worried—ah, I can’t quite express the feeling. But now, there’s no time to allow it; we can only stay here for the time being.”
“Why is there no time? Isn’t it an hour away from getting dark? Moreover, if we go now, I’m afraid it would all be too late, wouldn’t it?”
“Right, I’m worried about that issue, so I feel we shouldn’t move anymore. If we change locations again, who knows, he might sense some area.”
However, upon thinking it over, Lin Yi found that what the hunter had told him made sense, and given the circumstances, he guessed he couldn’t think of a better idea himself.
If there had been even a slight chance or a solution, he certainly wouldn’t have taken this risk.
“Well, alright, I hope your intuition is wrong—and you haven’t been here for so many years.”
“Yes, I feel that way too. And my intuition isn’t necessarily correct. Come on, let’s walk a bit further and get around these big trees. Usually under such circumstances, there should be flat ground beyond them based on experience.”
In Lin Yi’s view, what the hunter said was still quite credible.
After all, he had rich experience in entering the mountains, but the key concern was whether he, after all these years without entering, was truly still as familiar with everything in the deep mountains as he used to be.
He was worried about these things in his heart and had no idea what to do.
So, Lin Yi had no choice but to follow the hunter’s steps, moving forward step by step.
He took two steps forward, then looked back to see if there was anything else dangerous around them.
Luckily, after they bypassed this cluster of trees, they quickly came upon a flat piece of land.
After seeing this place, he suddenly felt that everything seemed much clearer before his eyes.
This stretch of grassland really gave him hope for life.
After spending almost an entire day in the jungle, Lin Yi felt an almost unbearable pain.
But now, in this moment, it seemed like something was constantly changing.
“Hold on a moment.”
Suddenly, Lin Yi seemed to think of something and shouted loudly to everyone.
The hunter was just curious, then turned back and looked at him.
In this environment, he hadn’t detected any danger; could it be Lin Yi had just discovered something hazardous?
“What is it, did you find something?”
“Look, this grassland.”
“Yes, it’s a grassland. Didn’t I tell you? After getting around this area, it turns into a flat grassland.”
“No, this, this couldn’t be a swamp, could it?”
Once bitten by a snake, one fears a well rope for ten years; now, as soon as Lin Yi saw a grassland, he immediately associated it with a swamp.
When the hunter heard this, he laughed heartily.
This sudden laughter made the atmosphere around them seem to relax a great deal.
“Man, you’re just too nervous. Besides, I can still tell the difference between a real grassland and a swamp. This is pure grassland. If you don’t believe me, look.”
To verify his own claim, the hunter casually walked forward, then leapt with his whole body and jumped onto the lawn.
Of course, he landed solidly on the ground without any sinking force.
“See? This is grassland, and absolutely safe at that.”
Upon seeing this, Lin Yi suddenly let out a long sigh of relief.
If it really was so, then it seemed his concerns were largely unfounded.
“Alright then, if that’s the case, let’s hurry up and take out the tents. Let’s work together to set them up—how many tents are we putting up?”
“Big brother, I’ve only got two tents.”
“What? Only two tents?”
At this point, he frowned slightly.
“Yes, big brother. And the tents are quite large; I couldn’t possibly carry more. I thought Ling’er would have one tent, and I’d share one with you—that, who knew you?”
He said, looking up at the hunter.
The implication was clear: he hadn’t anticipated a fourth person joining them. Had he known earlier, he would have brought three tents.
“Well, let’s leave it at that. Ling’er can have a tent to herself, then. Alright, the three of us can squeeze into one tent, how about that?”
“I’m a bit scared to be alone.”
Ling’er suddenly objected.
Indeed, in the deep forest, a girl—even if she were to stay next to them—a mere tent separating them in the end would not be reassuring for her.
“Then Ling’er, if you don’t mind, I’ll share a tent with you. Then, brother, you and Hei Lang can share one. How does that sound?”
Naturally, this arrangement was the most appropriate, and Ling’er had a very good impression of Lin Yi. After all, among the three, she was most familiar with Lin Yi.
Without further ado, the three of them got to work and set up the tents there.
And truth be told, whether it was space or warmth, the tents were really very good.
“That’s what I say. City folks sure know how to enjoy life, talking about going out for picnics and barbecues and lying in tents at night to watch the stars. Seems like that feeling is going to be satisfied today.”
What do you think?
