Overpowered Witch Reincarnation

Chapter 47: Cute Witch’s Respite

Chapter 47: Cute Witch’s Respite

Finally, our kisses ended. I’d not even noticed when a field of flowers began blooming around us, but neither did Mary say anything about it. She simply smiled at the mess she’d left me in.

“You look so cute right now that I’d love to continue this all day, but we should probably stop. I don’t want to push you too far. You might make this whole dungeon a meadow.”

I giggled at her while my face heated. “To think that I once made fun of a certain goddess for putting a forest inside of a cave.”

“Yes, I can’t believe you actually collapsed a dungeon. Good thing it’s an open secret. None of the leaders in the Candlewax Kingdom know about it.”

“What would they do if they figured out?”

“I’m afraid they’d lock you up forever. Which is definitely not ideal, since that’s what I want to do first.”

My eyes widened from her forwardness. She’d attacked me so easily, and now, she was pressing the assault. “Are you like a yandere or something?”

Mary chuckled, showcasing an odd smile. “No, why would I be? I don’t think a demon of wrath would ever be a yandere.”

“Now I can’t tell if you’re just making fun of me or not!”

I pouted before finally standing up in the grass. It tickled my feet that had somehow dried. Probably from whatever heat spread through my body from the new sensations.

Never did I know that touching and kissing another person---a beautiful woman---could feel so good. I instinctively grabbed her hand after putting my boots back on. “I think it might be time to figure out a way out of here. I can tell we’re really deep into the mountain.”

Mary shrugged and pointed towards the water. “I’m sure if we follow this, we’ll find a way out eventually. This is a new dungeon, so we should get as many of these crystals as possible before somebody comes to steal them.”

“You sound like a dragon who's trying to build a hoard.”

The girl chuckled. “As luck would have it, I am part dragon after all.”

“Seriously?”

“It’s been said that my clan were a demonic branch of dragons. It’s common for us to be either wrath or pride demons. We were the outcasts of dragon society, and it’s said that our blood is always boiling hot. That’s why I was able to master the blood lightning technique easily. Although, it’s considered part of my authority.”

“Oh, you mentioned those authorities before. Sloth had the Langorous Winter. I’m curious about what all you can do.”

She smirked. “Hmph, maybe I will show you in due time. However, it might be best if you never see it.”

“Why is that?”

“All of the authorities are very powerful, but they’re tied to our identities as sins. If I were to go on a rampage, I’d need to feel a certain amount of wrath. If such a thing ever happens, hopefully you’ll be able to knock some sense into me.”

“It’s always confusing that you’re the one with the wrath ability. You’ve never really showed much wrath to me. You were always patient, even when you were pretending to be a guild employee.”

“Uh, I wasn’t pretending to be an employee. I was an employee. Also, I’ve passed the torch on long ago. There is a newer sin of wrath. Everyone always thinks there can only be one sin at a time. Historically, that was true for the most part, but the torch would usually only pass after the previous sin died.”

I sighed, not really understanding anything she was talking about. “I don’t really get it, but there are many oddities in this world. Even this cave is very strange when you think about it. That’s why, I usually don’t think about anything. Life is much easier that way.”

“Haha, I might have to try the Eerie way of living if that’s the case. Though, if both of us were like that, we’d certainly get lost.”

I pouted. “What are you talking about? We’re already lost!”

Mary pointed towards the end of the cave, we’re light began shining. “No we’re not. Love got us in here, and love got us out.”

I blushed and squeezed her arm. “Don’t start saying so many embarrassing things. Is it your plan to torment me now?”

She grinned devilishly. “No, no, I would never torment you. However, if I get to see this side of you more often, I might do it a tiny bit.”

“You really are a demon of wrath. I don’t know how I’ll cope with this level of vengeance.”

“Consider it as you finally getting your dues for all of those things before. You remember how I waved off all of the things you did in the guild? Do you have any idea what that was like? Imagine you’re strolling around on Earth, and you enter a used car lot. And then you try to purchase an old used car with a mountain of gold worth millions of dollars.”

I tried looking away awkwardly. “Was it really that bad?”

“What do you mean was it? You still continue to do it! So now you’re being punished. It’s only fair.”

We continued chatting like that, until the sun finally shone down on our heads. Outside a beautiful forest greeted us, and the chirping of birds echoed around in the warm sunlight.

“Finally,” I said dramatically, “I thought I’d never make it out of there alive.”

“Don’t act like a drama queen now!”

“No, I will act however I want. Thus is the role of an actress. If I ever want to make it in the big leagues and perform on S rank sets, then I need to keep upping my acting skills.”

“You’re really committed to this whole bit, aren’t you? At this point I don’t even know if you’re seriously considering it. Eerie the acting witch sounds a little weird, don’t you think? Shouldn’t you be something like Eerie, The Witch of Disaster. I’d not be surprised if you had your own disaster authority or authority of Insanity with all of this craziness.”

I laughed at her silly joke. “As if I’d have something like that!”
