Pokemon: A New Path

Chapter 471: The Great Hero Rayquaza

Giratina swiftly dodged to the side. Thanks to Naoki's warning, it narrowly avoided Groudon's sudden attack. However, the ambush had thoroughly enraged the Renegade Pokémon.

With a thunderous roar, Giratina retaliated. A thick, black-and-red energy beam erupted from its maw, tearing through the air toward Groudon.

But Groudon was not one to back down. It countered with a Destructive Beam of its own.

The two opposing forces collided in midair, sending shockwaves rippling across the battlefield. Red and black energy crackled and intertwined, distorting the space around them with sheer force.

Giratina, finding amusement in the struggle, increased its energy output. Almost immediately, Groudon felt the overwhelming pressure bearing down on it.

A solemn glint flickered in the earth titan's golden eyes. Drawing upon the deep reservoirs of magma energy within its core, Groudon surged forward, pushing back against Giratina's attack.

Just as their clash seemed to reach a breaking point—Kyogre struck from the sea!

The Pokémon burst from the water's surface, unleashing a barrage of blindingly bright energy beams aimed directly at Giratina's flank.

Naoki's brows furrowed.

Without hesitation, he reached for another Poké Ball and, with a flash of white light, Dragonite appeared beside Giratina.

"Thunder!" Naoki commanded in a firm tone.

Dragonite, already a master of its electric attacks, wasted no time.

Thunderclouds roared overhead. A massive bolt of lightning descended from the sky, crashing directly into Kyogre. With the added effect of the ongoing rainstorm, the attack's power was amplified several times over.

Kyogre let out a wail as the immense electric surge struck its body, forcing it back into the sea.

Its attack—Origin Pulse—missed its target entirely.

At that moment, Dragonite recognized Kyogre.

This was the very same Pokémon it had once tried to bring back to the ranch as a gift for Naoki—only to suffer a crushing defeat.

Now, Dragonite's eyes burned with determination.

Meanwhile, Giratina seethed with fury. Its patience had run out.

Abandoning the playful duel with Groudon, Giratina poured a massive surge of energy into its attack.

The overwhelming force swallowed Groudon's energy beam whole, and before the earth titan could react, a tremendous explosion engulfed Groudon!

The sheer magnitude of the blast shook the battlefield.

The earth cracked. The sea churned violently with towering waves crashing in all directions.

And for the first time since their awakening, both Groudon and Kyogre collapsed under the overwhelming power.

...

"That was incredible!"

Despite the torrential downpour, the female reporter from Violet TV wiped her rain-soaked face and spoke excitedly into the camera.

Her voice, carried through the live broadcast, reached millions watching across the world.

Inside an underground shelter in Petalburg City, Gym Leader Norman stood with his arms crossed, watching the battle unfold on the screen.

Behind him, gasps of astonishment filled the air.

"He actually took on both of them at once?!"

"The legendary Groudon and Kyogre were taken down?!"

"That trainer is unbelievable!"

For the first time since the disaster began, hope flickered in the hearts of Hoenn's people.

Watching the broadcast, countless voices erupted in cheers.

"Keep going!"

"We can win this!"

...

At the Weather Institute, researchers and executives who had been gripping the edges of their desks finally exhaled in relief.

"He did it…!"

The room buzzed with excitement. Some scientists even stood up to high-five each other. For the first time in hours, the tension eased.

But then, a new question arose in everyone's mind.

Just who was this masked trainer?

How had he tamed Giratina, a Legendary Pokémon feared by many?

Across the world, people were left wondering—Who was the mysterious trainer behind the mask?

...

Groudon staggered to its feet, magma dripping from its massive body, while Kyogre emerged from the depths of the ocean, its glowing patterns pulsating with raw energy.

Both Pokémon fixed their piercing gazes on the airborne intruder before them—Giratina.

Naoki exhaled sharply.

"Their endurance is ridiculous..." he muttered under his breath.

But continuing this battle endlessly wasn't the right approach. He had to try reasoning with them.

"Groudon! Kyogre! That's enough!" Naoki called out, his voice echoing through the storm. "Stop fighting and return to your domains!"

But neither of the legendary Pokémon responded. They remained silent, their gazes locked onto him and Giratina.

The storm intensified.

Darkened waves churned violently beneath them, and the very energy of the earth and sea began to converge, drawn into Groudon and Kyogre.

At that moment, the two Pokémon seemed to come to an unspoken agreement. A surge of molten energy erupted from Groudon's core, and towering stone pillars shot up from beneath the ocean.

Simultaneously, Kyogre let out a low, ancient cry and propelled itself high above the sea, its body radiating countless streaks of blue-white light.

They were attacking together!

The live broadcast viewers felt a wave of dread wash over them.

"The God of Earth and the God of the Sea are working together?!"

"What's happening?! Why are they cooperating?!"

"I remember an elder once saying that when two equally powerful Pokémon are locked in combat, if a third party interferes, they will temporarily join forces to repel the outsider before resuming their battle," someone murmured.

The tension in the air was suffocating.

Could Giratina withstand an assault from two legendary Pokémon at once?

Then—

BOOM!

A colossal explosion lit up the battlefield. But when the smoke cleared, Giratina's figure had vanished.

A moment later, it reappeared high above, its shadowy form flickering through the darkness.

"So they're planning to take on Giratina together?" Naoki muttered, narrowing his eyes.

It made sense.

Even in the past, when Rayquaza attempted to stop them, Groudon and Kyogre had united against it before resuming their own battle.

It seemed no outsider was permitted to interfere in a war between gods.

Groudon nor Kyogre remained locked onto Giratina.

Then, Groudon roared and unleashed a searing crimson beam of energy.

Kyogre, in turn, summoned an enormous tidal wave and sent it crashing toward Giratina.

"Dragonite—Thunder!"

As Naoki's command rang out, Giratina's body shimmered faintly with violet light.

In the blink of an eye, it disappeared from view.

Meanwhile, Dragonite summoned a storm of lightning.

A massive bolt of electricity struck the ocean, and currents of golden energy surged through the waters. Within seconds, the entire sea transformed into a vast field of crackling electricity.

Kyogre flinched, its body writhing in pain as memories surfaced—this was the same Dragonite that had once dared to intrude into its underwater cavern.

How arrogant!

Kyogre's frustration erupted into action.

The leviathan surged from the water, blue-white beams of energy exploding from its form. The powerful Origin Pulse attack struck Dragonite dead-on, sending it plummeting into the ocean below.

At the same time—Giratina reappeared behind Groudon.

With a growl, its enormous claws, infused with spectral energy, slashed downward.

ROAR!

Groudon let out a deafening roar as pain shot through its body.

Furious, the titan spun around, swinging its thick, clawed arm with the intent to grab Giratina and engage in a raw, physical brawl.

At such close range, Naoki could see every detail of Groudon's massive form—the glowing magma veins, the cracks in its armor, the sheer power it radiated.

But he was ready.

"Shadow Sneak!" Naoki commanded.

Before Groudon could close its grip, Giratina's body shimmered and vanished once again into the shadows.

Groudon's attack whiffed, leaving it momentarily vulnerable.

"Now—Dragon Breath!"

Giratina reappeared, this time directly in front of Groudon.

A spiraling, black-and-red energy beam erupted from its maw. The force of the attack struck Groudon's chest head-on.

The immense force of Giratina's attack sent Groudon skidding backward, carving a deep trench into the ground as it struggled to stay upright.

However, before it could recover, Kyogre suddenly surged out of the ocean behind Giratina.

A vortex of churning water gathered in its mouth, rapidly compressing into a high-pressure Hydro Cannon. The next second, Kyogre unleashed the devastating blast straight at Giratina!

The attack struck Giratina directly.

A deep, guttural roar of pain erupted from Giratina's throat. Its blood-red eyes flickered with a dangerous light, and its entire body tensed, an ominous energy crackling around it.

It was enraged.

Naoki quickly made a decision—he couldn't stay on Giratina's back any longer.

"Dragonite!" he called out.

Dragonite, ever watchful, immediately dove toward him. Naoki leaped off Giratina's head just as the three titanic Pokémon engaged in a chaotic clash.

Dragonite flapped its wings powerfully, catching Naoki mid-air with pinpoint accuracy.

Below them, Giratina retaliated against Kyogre with sheer brute force, attempting to drag the ocean titan into the Distortion World.

But Kyogre was quick. With a flick of its powerful tail fin, it slipped away and dove back into the depths of the sea, just beyond Giratina's grasp.

Meanwhile, Groudon was gathering energy from the earth's veins.

A tremor rippled across the battlefield as jagged stone pillars erupted from the ocean floor—Precipice Blades—hurtling toward Giratina's back.

Seeing the incoming attack, Naoki narrowed his eyes.

"Dragonite," he commanded. "Summon it."

This wasn't something they could handle alone—it was time to call in the real expert.

Dragonite let out a confident cry. "Awoo!"

It understood the task perfectly.

Meanwhile, those watching the live broadcast noticed something strange.

"Wait… why did the mysterious trainer suddenly stop fighting?"

"What's going on?"

Confusion spread among the viewers.

Then a deep, powerful roar echoed across the battlefield, growing louder with each passing second.

The storm clouds above began to swirl. A massive tear split through the sky, piercing through the darkened heavens.

From this rift, a beam of radiant light poured onto the battlefield—illuminating the war-torn sea.

And within that divine glow, a new figure emerged.

A serpentine dragon, pitch-black in color, its long, streamlined body moving with absolute grace.

It was… Rayquaza.
