Chapter 317: Kick!
Chapter 317: Kick!
Julian made no effort to stop the police call. Technically, his actions had been wrong, but he just couldn't hold himself back.
"You'll regret this, kid. I'll ruin you socially."
Leo muttered venomously, leaning close to Julian.
Then, as if flipping a switch, Leo's expression shifted. Tears welled up in his eyes as he looked pitifully at the fans and reporters surrounding him.
"I don't understand why this gentleman did this to me," he said, his voice soft. "But if he apologizes, I'm willing to forgive him."
His display of forgiveness only made his female fans more emotional.
"Our Leo is so kind!"
"Who is that guy? We can't let him get away with this!"
"We have to avenge Leo!"
The fans were so riled up they looked like they might bite Julian to vent their anger.
"See that?" Leo whispered smugly to Julian.
Julian nodded. "I see it."
Then, without hesitation, he kicked Leo square in the stomach. The force sent Leo rolling several times until he landed in the middle of his fans.
'WTF!'
The security guards and bodyguards froze. They had seen arrogance before, but nothing like this.
The first time, Julian's trip might have seemed subtle. But this? This was blatant. In front of reporters, Julian had openly kicked Leo, sending him flying over ten meters.
It was pure audacity.
Leo felt his stomach churn. As he lay on the ground, countless hands reached toward him—but none of them helped him up.
The female fans were ecstatic. Their idol had literally fallen into their arms. They couldn't resist touching him, some even feeling grateful to Julian for giving them this opportunity.
The bodyguards finally snapped out of their daze and scrambled to help Leo, their minds racing with one thought: 'We're probably getting fired today'
'News! Big News!'
Meanwhile, the reporters were in heaven. This was headline material.
The rookie female reporter suddenly gasped. "I know who he is now, sir!"
Her senior looked at her in surprise, but before he could ask, she blurted out, "That's Julian! Julian, the grandson of Champion John!"
The senior reporter's hand trembled as he held his camera. The rookie's words jogged his memory, and he realized why the masked young man looked so familiar.
It was Julian—the same Julian he had photographed during the Hundred Schools League.
With a dawning sense of realization, the senior reporter muttered, "Leo's done for."
Although the veteran reporter's voice was soft, the rookie heard it and asked curiously, "How is it not Julian's fault? Even if this goes to court, Julian has no chance of winning."
The senior reporter didn't reply. His eyes remained fixed on Julian, who stood calmly ahead. In his mind, he was already drafting tomorrow's headline.
Meanwhile, Leo, now helped to his feet by his bodyguards, was utterly furious. He seemed to forget his public image as a celebrity and roared at the bodyguards nearby, "Break his legs!"
Luckily, he retained some sense and didn't outright demand Julian's life.
The bodyguards, feeling guilty for failing to protect Leo earlier, saw this as a chance to redeem themselves and keep their jobs. All four of them moved toward Julian.
As this unfolded, security guards formed a circle around Leo, keeping his fans at bay.
"Hold on."
The four bodyguards were just about to close in, and Julian was about to stretch his muscles, when suddenly there was a rush of footsteps behind him.
Turning around, he saw an elegant yet professional-looking woman in her thirties rushing over.
"Kailey! He's bullying me!"
The moment Leo saw his manager arrive, his anger melted into a pitiful expression, and he began crying loudly.
But Kailey ignored him completely. Instead, she looked at Julian with an apologetic smile and said, "Young Master Walker, I sincerely apologize. This is entirely our fault. Please forgive Leo; he's still young."
She had recognized Julian back in the first-class section of the plane. Knowing the gap in status between them, she refrained from disturbing him. After they landed, some work matters delayed her, so she let Leo and his bodyguards leave ahead of her.
Who would have thought that in just five or six minutes, such a disaster would occur?
"I'm 19. How old is he?" Julian said flatly.
Leo was 23.
Kailey: (⊙︿⊙)
"Haha.. Young Master, I made a mistake. How about this—let me host a dinner tonight, and Leo can formally apologize to you."
As the manager of a popular celebrity, Kailey's ability to handle crises was evident.
"No need, he already called the police. I assume enforcement officers are on their way."
At an airport, enforcement agents were always present. As if on cue, Julian's words were followed by the sight of officers in judicial uniforms approaching briskly.
They weren't alone; agents from two different divisions arrived simultaneously.
- Public Prosecution Bureau: Primarily deals with non-trainers.
- Trainer Inspection Bureau: Handles cases involving trainers.
Because it wasn't clear whether the suspect was a trainer, the two bureaus often operated together until the suspect's identity was confirmed. Once identified, they would transfer the case to the appropriate agency.
"It's me! I was the one who called! He's the one who hit me!"
Before the officers could even speak, Leo pointed dramatically at Julian.
From a distance of over ten meters, Leo couldn't hear the conversation between Kailey and Julian. If he had, he might have already been scared shitless.
"Misunderstanding! This is a misunderstanding!"
Kailey interjected hastily.
'Misunderstanding?'
Looking at Leo, whose face was bloodied and who clutched his stomach, the officers couldn't help but think, 'This seems like quite a big misunderstanding'
The Public Prosecution Bureau officer approached Julian and asked, "Did you hit this man?"
"Yes, I did."
"Why did you hit him?"
"Because he was acting like a diva. It disgusted me, so I hit him."
The crowd: …(⊙_⊙;)…
Seeing that Julian wasn't behaving dangerously, they refrained from using handcuffs.
"Come with us. You too," the officer said, gesturing to Leo and his bodyguards.
Thus, the group was taken away.
"Kailey! You must make sure he goes to prison! I want him locked away for life! I—"
"Shut up!"
Kailey snapped angrily.
As a popular young celebrity, news of Leo being assaulted hit the trending topics almost instantly. Videos of the incident began circulating on platforms like TikTalk.
Initially, Leo's female fans flooded the internet with insults directed at the assailant, while simultaneously offering words of comfort to their idol.
On the other hand, male users celebrated, commenting;
"Finally, someone did it! Been waiting for this guy to get knocked down a peg."
However, it didn't take long for netizens to identify the masked assailant.
The moment Julian's identity was confirmed, the incident skyrocketed to the number one spot on the trending list. In fact, the top five trending topics were all related to the event.
- "Hahaha, Leo is doomed now."
- "Julian: Acting like a diva? You disgusted me, so I hit you."
- "I'm a Julian fan now."
- "From neutral to fan!"
- "From neutral to fan +1."
- "Julian hit my idol! I'm now your biggest hater!"
The online discourse was explosive.
A certain self-proclaimed expert weighed in: "As one of Drakoria's renowned trainers, Julian's actions are far too arrogant. This is a blatant mockery of our country's laws."@@novelbin@@
