Chapter 318: Family Photo
Chapter 318: Family Photo
Julian, as the leading figure of Drakoria's younger generation and already a recognized Elite, had been under constant public attention since his debut.
While not a celebrity in the traditional sense, Julian's popularity rivaled that of any star, with countless fans following him online.
Despite his prominent family background, Julian didn't exhibit the arrogance often associated with heirs of prestigious families.
This time, however, Julian caused an online sensation by punching the popular young idol Leo in full view of the public.
True to their nature, internet bystanders eagerly shared and liked the incident, fueling its virality.
Keyboard warriors shouted "Bring it on!" and dove into an all-out flame war online.
Julian's fans clashed with Leo's fans, and the results were quick and decisive—Leo's supporters were completely outmatched.
Meanwhile, so-called experts chimed in, accusing Julian of recklessly abusing his position and acting with impunity. Their comments briefly garnered attention.
However, these experts soon deleted their remarks when they realized who was responding to them in the comment section:
- John Walker: "I'll remember this account. I'll deal with you when I'm back from overseas."
- Jake Walker: "Only I can criticize my son. Who do you think you are?"
- Henry Walker: "Prepare to go bankrupt."
- Quinn Walker: "Mark my words, you won't survive in the research field after this."
The Walker family had mobilized, and in Drakoria, few people could withstand their combined might.
In terms of strength, there was John, a reigning Champion, and Jake, a pseudo-Champion. Financially, Henry, one of the top three wealthiest individuals in the nation, and In the research field, Quinn, the youngest recipient of the prestigious Arceus Award.
This wasn't stirring up a hornet's nest—it was poking a nest of dinosaurs.
When they emerged from the Prosecution office, Kailey continuously apologized to Julian. "Young Master Walker, I'm terribly sorry. When you kicked Leo, did your foot get hurt?"
Leo, trailing behind: (⊙x⊙;)
"If you're still upset, feel free to kick him a few more times. Don't let his delicate demeanor fool you—he's got a sturdy frame and can take it," Kailey added.
Leo: *mmp*
"That's enough. No need to see me off."
Julian said, waving her off as he hailed a cab at the street corner and left.
Kailey, hoping to escort him further, was left deflated.
After Julian departed, Leo cautiously approached Kailey and nervously asked, "Kailey, do you think I'll live to see tomorrow?"
Now fully aware of the caliber of person he had provoked, Leo was utterly shaken.
While he might be a popular young idol with nearly 300 million followers on social media, the majority were bot accounts purchased by his agency.
His celebrity status might hold sway over ordinary people, but in the eyes of powerful families like Julian's—especially someone born into such unparalleled privilege—it meant absolutely nothing.
There wasn't even a need for Julian to lift a finger—countless people eager to curry favor with him could easily deal with the situation on his behalf.
Leo had spent three long years clawing his way to his current status.
Now that he had provoked Julian, the question wasn't whether his achievements would survive the day—it was whether 'he' would.
"Good thing it was Young Master Walker. If it had been some other heir from a prominent family, you might not have made it through today"
Kailey glared at him: "Don't act so effeminate. You look more like a woman than I do right now."
"But it's 'because' of my effeminate charm that I got this far…" Leo muttered under his breath.
Kailey: "..."
---
"Where to, sir?"
The cab driver asked after Julian got into the car but hadn't given any destination.
"Take me to the Gardevoir Hotel," Julian finally replied.
Having just arrived in Rockwell City without a place to stay, he decided to head to one of his family's properties.
The Gardevoir Hotel was a chain of internationally renowned five-star hotels, owned by Julian's family, with branches in all major cities in Drakoria and many overseas locations.
Roughly thirty minutes later, the car pulled up to the hotel entrance.
The moment Julian stepped out, the hotel manager greeted him warmly.
Having learned that Julian was in Rockwell City, the manager had anticipated that he might check into the hotel and had been waiting at the entrance—and his preparation paid off.
"Young Master Julian."
Julian gave a slight nod.
"Prepare a room and send up some food."
"Right away."
Under the manager's arrangements, Julian was soon escorted to the largest presidential suite on the 70th floor, the very top of the hotel.
Inside the suite, Julian opened the curtains and used his phone to record the breathtaking view of Rockwell City from such a height. With the entire city almost entirely visible below, the scenery was stunning.
Turning the camera on himself, Julian smiled faintly and said, "First video. A million likes shouldn't be too much to ask, right?"
With that, he hit upload.
Despite being an active user of TikTok, Julian had never posted a single video before. Even when the platform's team reached out to request his participation, he had declined.
Posting a video today was purely a spur-of-the-moment decision.
The platform's backend team immediately flagged the video, recognizing its significance, and reported it to their supervisor.
With official promotion, the video went viral within minutes.
"Is this really King Julian?"
"Didn't you see the official verification? No one would dare impersonate him!"
"Wow, not even five minutes in and it's already broken a million likes."
"This view looks like Rockwell City."
"With a face like that, if King Julian debuted as an idol, those so-called 'pretty boys' wouldn't stand a chance."
"Where's the Metagross, Julian? We want to see Metagross!"
"A million likes is nothing. Let's go, fans! Full speed ahead to ten million!"
Within just over half an hour, the likes on Julian's video had surpassed ten million, and his follower count had skyrocketed to eighty million.@@novelbin@@
These were genuine numbers, with no fabrication whatsoever.
Even the backend staff at TikTok were astonished as they watched the likes and followers climb by the second. The data was on par with, if not surpassing, the nation's top influencers.
Meanwhile, Julian, casually enjoying his dinner, remained blissfully unaware of the viral storm his video had caused.
'Knock, knock'
There was a knock on the door.
"Luca~"
The manager outside the door blinked in surprise when Lucario opened it for him. Glancing into the room, he froze momentarily.
Goodness gracious—if this weren't a presidential suite, it would have been impossible to fit all these Pokémon.
With the towering figures of Steelix and Aggron, even this spacious room seemed almost too small. The ceiling height was barely adequate for them.
"Young Master Julian, there's going to be an auction in Rockwell City in a few days. They've sent over an invitation, and if you're interested, you can attend."
Julian accepted the invitation card, noting that the auction items were not listed.
Sensing his curiosity, the manager quickly added, "The items for this auction are kept confidential until the event itself.
"Previous auctions have included pseudo-legendary Pokémon eggs and Mega Evolution Stones. The attendees are always high-profile individuals."
Julian nodded, keeping the invitation. The auction's air of mystery intrigued him, and if he had the time, he might attend.
Glancing at the date printed on the card—the 15th—Julian realized it coincided with his gym challenge day.
After finishing dinner, Julian looked at the Pokémon gathered around him. Suddenly inspired, he retrieved his phone. Using his psychic abilities, the phone floated into the air, aligning itself perfectly.
'Click'
And just like that, Julian's first family photo was taken.
