Pokemon: Reborn Rich Alternate Earth

Chapter 326: Two Moves

Chapter 326: Two Moves

A Pokémon using two moves at the same time is possible—as long as it undergoes proper training.

For example, a Fighting-type Pokémon could use Fire Punch with its left hand and Thunder Punch with its right. A Venusaur could use Vine Whip while simultaneously triggering Earthquake.

Some Pokémon are even born with this ability. For instance, a Hydreigon, with its three heads, can execute different moves simultaneously. Similarly, a Dodrio can do the same.

However, using two moves at once comes with a condition—the Pokémon must still maintain control over the first move while activating the second one.

If a Pokémon tries to use a second move but loses control of the first, not only will the second move fail, but the failure of the first could also backfire and cause self-inflicted damage.

Yet, Mega Tyranitar had successfully pulled off Taunt while still executing Giga Impact, a high-power move.

Mega Tyranitar: "Look me in the eye, you b***d."

At that moment, Mega Metagross, which was about to use Protect, froze for a second.

'Who the hell do you think you are talking to?!'

Taunt: For three turns, the target enters a taunted state and becomes unable to use status moves.

And Protect happens to be a status move.

As a result, Mega Metagross' Protect failed, leaving it completely vulnerable.

Then, Mega Tyranitar's Giga Impact crashed down upon it, like the sky itself collapsing.

The only thing Mega Metagross could do was cross its arms in front of itself in defense.

BOOM!!

The force of the impact shook the entire battlefield, shattering the ground further into pieces—not a single spot remained intact.

The explosion sent debris flying everywhere, forming a chaotic battlefield of rubble.

At the center of the impact, a massive energy surge erupted, and with a loud whoosh, a black mushroom cloud rose into the air.

Right after, a shockwave swept across the battlefield like a raging tide, completely ravaging what little was left of the terrain. Countless stones were pulverized into powder.

The shockwave from the explosion lasted for a full three to four minutes before finally settling down.

"Ty!"

Mega Tyranitar stood, staring into the crater where Mega Metagross remained still, staring back at it.

'You've gotta be kidding me'

'Why aren't you down yet?!'

Mega Metagross: Meteor Mash

Just as everyone thought Mega Metagross had finally fallen, they suddenly saw Mega Tyranitar get launched into the air.

Then, Mega Metagross slowly rose from the crater.

It was an exact repeat of the scene from before.

Julian glanced at Fred.

As expected from a national level Gym Leader.@@novelbin@@

Fred had indeed given him a lesson just now, but...

His Metagross wasn't the kind of Pokémon that could be beaten so easily.

"Metagross, Hammer Arm," Julian said coldly.

Mega Metagross moved at incredible speed, closing the distance in the blink of an eye.

All four of its powerful arms glowed with a brilliant silver light as it hammered down on Mega Tyranitar below.

The first strike sent Mega Tyranitar plummeting straight from midair into the ground.

The second strike slammed into its abdomen.

The battlefield, already reduced to rubble, was turned into dust, and the ground caved in by over ten meters.

The third strike once again targeted the abdomen, shattering the armor plating and leaving it riddled with cracks of various sizes. The ground beneath it groaned, as if it could barely withstand the force.

As the air exploded with force and Mega Tyranitar's eyes filled with despair, the final Hammer Arm came crashing down.

BOOM!!!

The ground was completely obliterated—the entire battlefield was split in two. A massive shockwave erupted from deep underground, shooting into the sky.

Crack! Crack! Crack!

Under the horrified gazes of the onlookers, the battlefield, which was the size of two soccer fields, began to collapse. Soon, the steel framework underneath was exposed.

Many of those steel beams were bent or outright broken.

The battlefield was completely destroyed—though, to be fair, Mega Metagross wasn't the only one responsible for the damage.

Julian: 'Am I going to have to pay for this?'

Tyranitar is 4× weaker to Fighting-type moves.

Under Mega Metagross' Tough Claws ability, it took four consecutive Hammer Arms, all targeting the same spot.

Forget about Mega Tyranitar—even Godzilla himself would've been forced to kneel after that.

Having lost consciousness, Mega Tyranitar reverted back to its normal form. Its abdomen armor was completely shattered, revealing torn flesh and nonstop bleeding.

'Might've hit a little too hard'

Julian thought to himself, but there was no helping it. Mega Tyranitar was a tough opponent—Mega Metagross couldn't afford to hold back.

If it had, the one on the ground might have been itself.

Fred shook his head, recalling Tyranitar into its Poké Ball before handing it over to a staff member for medical treatment.

A Gym, especially a national-level one, was always equipped with medical facilities and Pokémon doctors.

As long as a Pokémon wasn't outright dead, there was no risk of it dying here.

'Just make sure you don't lose to my grandson later, that's all I ask'

Standing on the battlefield, Fred recalled what John had told him over the phone earlier.

Back then, he thought it was just a joke.

But now?

He was the joke.

This so-called Number One of the Younger Generation…

His sights were now set on taking down the older generation instead.

And it seemed like he was the first veteran trainer Julian had defeated.

Thinking about that, Fred's expression darkened.

This was embarrassing.

So many people were watching—his son, grandson, and the entire audience.

'Damn it!'

Had he known things would turn out this way, he wouldn't have let them come.

His reputation was in shambles now.

"Tyranitar is unable to battle, Metagross wins. In this Gym Challenge, the challenger, Julian, is victorious!"

As the referee, Frank announced the result.

But as he did, his emotions were complicated.

His own student had just defeated his father.

Was he supposed to be happy or sad?

"Meta~"

Metagross hovered over to Julian.

"You've worked hard."

Julian patted the side of its head, his gaze falling on a thin crack on its body—about the length of an index finger and a centimeter wide.

Metagross' entire body was made of metal—it had no blood and wasn't a creature of flesh and bone.

That gave it immense durability, but at the same time, healing from injuries took much longer.

Well, that was true for most Metagross.

But Julian's Metagross was different.

"Here"

He took out a Full Restore and had Metagross consume it.

With this, it would be fine by tomorrow.

Even with the powerful medicinal effects of Full Restore, a tiny crack like this still needed a full day to heal.

This made it clear—if Metagross didn't have access to Full Restore, it would take at least half a month to recover, even with proper treatment.
