Pokemon: Reborn Rich Alternate Earth

Chapter 346: Battle Begins

Chapter 346: Battle Begins

Imperial University Trainer Academy - Battle Arena No. 1

A little after 9 AM, both sides of the battlefield were already packed with people, and many even arrived on Flying-type Pokémon, hovering in the air to get a better view.

Ever since Kaide accepted the challenge yesterday, everyone interested in this battle had arrived early.

But even they underestimated the excitement surrounding the match between Julian and Kaide. Forget about coming at 9 AM—even if you arrived at 8 AM, you might not have gotten a good spot.

"Isn't the match supposed to start at 10? It's barely past 9, and there's already this many people?"

On the outskirts of the crowd, a few students who thought they had arrived early looked at each other in disbelief. They couldn't even see the battlefield—only a sea of people. How were they supposed to watch the battle?

And why did the sky seem so dark?

Looking up, they quickly realized why—countless Flying-type Pokémon hovered above, packed so densely that they blocked out the sunlight. Some of the larger ones even carried multiple trainers on their backs.

"Snacks, drinks, bottled water—anyone need some?"

"Binoculars, folding stools—get them here!"

Some clever students from the business academy weren't about to miss this money-making opportunity. They set up shop right there, selling whatever they could. Even though they wouldn't make much, they were doing it for fun.

"How much for a bag of sunflower seeds?"

"1,000 bucks per bag."

"What the hell? That's robbery!"

"I'm from the business academy."

"Oh, that explains it."

By around 9:50, Prince Kaide had arrived at the battlefield, accompanied by over a dozen trainers from Gallia.

Looking at the other side of the field and not seeing Julian yet, Kaide didn't say anything. He simply stood there quietly, waiting for the clock to hit 10.

However, the tall blonde woman beside him frowned. "This Julian sure is arrogant, making Prince Kaide wait for him."

In her eyes, Julian should have arrived an hour earlier to wait for Kaide.

Among Kaide's entourage, Richard stood with his hands wrapped in bandages, his head lowered, his expression dark. No one noticed the look of hatred in his eyes as he glanced at Kaide.

To the public, Kaide was challenging Julian on Richard's behalf, standing up for him.

But Richard knew the truth—Kaide wasn't doing this for him at all. He was doing it for the honor of the Gallian royal family.

In Kaide's eyes, Richard was insignificant. Despite being a member of the royal family, he was painfully aware that, in Kaide's eyes, he ranked even lower than that blonde woman.

As the clock neared 10, Julian finally arrived at the battlefield.

The university took this match very seriously. They had assigned multiple teachers to maintain order and even set up a live broadcast of the match.

Might as well use this opportunity to boost the university's official social media account.

Kaide looked at Julian, and Julian met his gaze.

To be fair, Kaide was quite good-looking. His face had the sharp, chiseled features of an ancient Greek statue—rugged yet refined. His violet eyes added a touch of mystery, making his presence even more striking.

"3v3 or 6v6?"

Frank, acting as the referee, asked.

Julian glanced at Frank suspiciously. He was a veteran Trainer—an Elite, why did he always seem to enjoy being a referee?

Frank: 'School's orders, plus, I get a bonus'

"You decide," Julian said.

"3v3," Kaide replied.

To him, it didn't matter whether it was three or six Pokémon—he was confident he would win either way. Choosing 3v3 simply meant a quicker victory.

Coincidentally, that was exactly what Julian wanted. His mindset was the same—since he was going to win anyway, he might as well get it over with.

Frank took out a coin. "Heads, blue side sends out Pokémon first. Tails, red side goes first."

Julian was on the blue side.

The coin landed on tails, that meant Kaide had to send out his Pokémon first.

This made Julian, who was about to take out his Poké Ball, startled for a moment, with a slightly surprised expression on his face.

For once, luck was on his side.

As Kaide threw out his Poké Ball, a bright flash of white light revealed a humanoid Pokémon standing on the battlefield.

Bisharp was the evolved form of Pawniard, a Pokémon native to Babath. While Babath did restrict the distribution of Pawniard, they weren't overly strict—trainers from other countries could still obtain them for the right price.

However, they strictly controlled any Pawniard above Green-tier potential.

If not for Gallia being one of the top allies of their "big brother," Celestria, there was no way they would have allowed a Cyan-tier Pawniard to be sent to Gallia.

Even in Babath, that level of potential was rare.

Bisharp could be described as a walking arsenal—every part of its body was a weapon. Despite being a Dark/Steel-type, its physical structure gave it formidable hand-to-hand combat abilities as well.

"That Pokémon has such a fierce look in its eyes."

"Anyone here strong enough to tell what level it is?"

"Probably around the early Elite level."

"I wonder what Pokémon King Julian will send out?"

"Most likely Dragonite. As far as we know, that's his only Elite-level Pokémon."

Julian quickly provided an answer. As he threw out his Poké Ball, he glanced back and said:

"Let's try to wrap this up in thirty minutes, guys."

In the back, Slowking was holding a phone, live-streaming the match on TikTok.

The number of viewers soared past 50 million within moments—and it kept climbing.

"Prince Kaide is so handsome! What do I do? I think I'm switching sides!"

"Get out of here, we've got another lovestruck fool in chat!"

"Thirty minutes? King Julian must be bragging."

"When has king Julian ever failed to back up his words?"

Under everyone's gaze, Julian released his Pokémon.
